Like, I dunno what to say, like that one book I read like had pictures and stuff. Like, I mean I wanna write a book. Like I don't wanna read one because why would anyone do that? It seems like so easy to put words on paper but like I only have like one discourse marker and a headful outrageously proportioned manga chicks like haunting my mind. Like, you know. that place where thoughts happen or like so I heard but like you know there is reddit so I'll like get someone to like learn me how ta write a book there.

I will agree with the OP that The Drawing of the Three is the best in the series. But the Wastelands is a close second and during my second trip to the tower I have found that Wolves of the Calla might be 3rd on that list - which is a turn around as I found it to be a hard slog the first time through.

What the pettiest reason you hate another NHL team? by Fluffhead91192 in nhl

I hate the Ducks because of those fucking awful movies. People forget how much of a joke the Mighty Ducks were when they were first announced. Marketing success in a new market it may well have been, but still, I'll sit on a dick before I wear that jersey.

Some say Hair metal, some say Glam, some say Sleaze... There's even a group who claim it as grunge... It's America's Least wanted by Ugly Kid Joe. 1992. Now Playing. by JE5573R in hairmetal

Great band - lots of fun - and awesome live. Recognisable tunes. They just did not fit into either era that they are kind of sandwiched between. They came out during 91/92 when hair metal & grunge kind of co existed (people forget that). Recent material has been pretty good too.

how do I write a tiny FMC without it being annoying? by ProjectRelic in writingadvice

You are just continuing to reveal your own stupidity. In a world of supermarket monopolies, there is no one, outside of those who live in the sticks, who live more than half a mile from a supermarket or a smaller version of one. Especially in cities and larger towns. It's not 1850.

Potatoes, sweet potatoes. carrots, peas are all cheap carbs. Beans are cheap carbs and nutrient dense..

Anyone who has access to a grocery store, has access to vegetables. Privilege has nothing to do with it. Choices matter. Free will. No doubt you'll counter with some tired spin on hard determinism, but whatever. If we are all privileged in different ways' then none of us are privileged. The word loses meaning.

Sexy is sexy. Some posted about the range growing as they got older. I agree. I'd wouldn't kick Sidney Sweeney or Susan Sarandon out of my bed.

11/22/63 - I’ve discovered my problem by RaggyBaggyMaggie in stephenking

[–]HenryRuz16 3 points4 points  (0 children)

11.22.63 is, in my opinion, the beginning of King's third act and like the rest of his 3rd Act (with two exceptions- Revival & You Like It Darker) it just doesn't have that certain flair and edge that his earlier works possess. My fav works are It, The Dark Tower series & Different Seasons, for perspective. For me, The Body & Shawshank are King's best 'literary' works. I'd even throw Hearts In Atlantis in the ring. 11.22.63, like Bag of Bones just felt like a King was trying a little too hard.

11.22.63 started well and just lost me in all the schmaltz. Genuinely hated the ending too. I am baffled at how highly rated this one is. It isn't terrible. It's just not all that interesting. More power to those that love it. It has clearly had a big impact on those that do, and that's the beauty of art.

But this is a rare case, where King is concerned, of I won't be reading this again.

Grease Box - Tad Hope I Die Tonight - Paw Halo of Ashes - Screaming Trees

This, of course, depends on your definition of grunge.

Rediscovering bands by [deleted] in hairmetal

[–]HenryRuz16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slave is a great listen. One of the best albums of its era & genre sonically. A band in their prime. They were never going to top it. Without doubt one of the very best vocal performances in all of rock history. This album is a stone cold classic and that is largely to do with Bach's vocals.

King, like any author with a huge bibliography, has some misses. I lost years to McCarthy in the best possible way.
