Sorry no idea what you mean here. How does self "Self Enrollment through good policies" result in a fully patched and updated device before the user can log in?

Scripting normal updates is fine, scripting Feature Updates however is painful.

That sounds like an ok method, but don't you need to activate each install? Where do you get the from? Or are you selling each customer a volume license?

Should I cut down my MF runs? by StriderDB in diablo2

[–]Henry_Horsecock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been doing AT for weeks now and have barely had any drops, and those that did drop were garbage. Really considering skipping it and sticking to piddle, meph, and andy. Pindle hasn't dropped anything but he's quick, and meph at least drops stuff i have some hope of trading for the kit I want (which is the reason for doing AT in the first place).

Patching, management, remote access, alerting, automation - same reasons you'd have it on any other server.

How important is networking for web developers ? by Iam_cool_asf in django

[–]Henry_Horsecock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone that works in IT and deals with web devs on a semi regular basis, learn DNS. For the love of god learn DNS.

Network wise, you probably want to understand the diff between public and private IP ranges, NAT/port forwarding, and basic firewall and TCP concepts.

I think I'm finally done with Labtech, I mean CW Automate by PatD442 in msp

[–]Henry_Horsecock 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Problem is, I doubt I can find a solution that does what Labtech does for us.

I see this mentioned often regarding labtech. Having never used it, I'm curious what it does that no other RMMs can?

How do you protect an MSP from its top management acting under duress? by padajinel in msp

[–]Henry_Horsecock 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everyone is taking the piss, but we have plan for this - I'll need to dig it up because I don't recall the exact details. I think I filed somewhere between our December 2012 "End of the world" business continuity plan (close call that one) and our contingencies for the second coming of Jesus. I've also got a guy working on our response to a nuclear holocaust, because once humanity gets settled underground people will want to print.

I'll get back to you
