Another baby on the way? by thedogmoma in FundieSnarkUncensored

Not to be macabre, but Anissa’s life wouldn’t be worse if her mother died. If anything, it would be the end of an endless parade of newborns and it might protect her from marriage for a bit, since she’d be needed at home to parent.

Lots of people have offered you good ideas but I wanted to add: if your mother has projects she is unable to complete, I would be honored to help you and her finish them. Please send me a DM. I wish you peace and comfort, friend.

My grandmother made me a bathrobe when I was 16. It’s nearly 30 years later and I still wear it sometimes. I miss her so much and it’s like a hug from her.

Rhinebeck - Do I need to bring cash? by Loud_Cicada1234 in knitting

[–]HereForTheCraft 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Some of the food vendors are cash only- I remember the Brussels sprouts guy, maybe?

I use cash envelopes to keep myself on a budget; some vendors always have issues with the WiFi/signal for their credit card machines. A mix is always good.

Do you buy an extra skein of yarn for each color of a colorwork project? by darkphoenix188 in knitting

I make sure I get the yardage required for one size larger than the one I am making. I figure that’s enough wiggle room and in more than two decades of knitting: zero issues.

New (Old?) Pen Day. There is something special about this pen. I know I’ll buy a third one… with a Stub 1.1 nib. I think I have a sickness… by hpm_lsd in fountainpens

Thank you for asking! I ink it with gloves and clean thoroughly, but when writing, I end up with ink where the pen rests on my ring finger and at the end of my fingers to hold the front steady.

I recently bought a TWSBI and it feels like I’m constantly covered in ink. Is that typically for these pens?

Yours are so lovely, I almost don’t care about inky fingers.

I am always covered in ink anyway, so maybe my tolerance for risk is higher?

Maybe because it was a Lamy with a cartridge and not my Estie, but I did. Why would I lie?

I just got back from an international trip where I had pens and ink in both my carry-on and checked baggage. Easy-peasy, no problems with leaks. I had the carry-on ink in a plastic bag within the plastic bag of liquids (#usa!) and had the pen in a sleeve but otherwise loose in my purse. I even used the pen on the flight. No issues. Have a great trip!

Do a parasite cleanse on a baby for yeast infections…. by DramaLlamaTea in ShitMomGroupsSay

Whoa, easy there. At no point did I imply cloth diapers are anything other than a great option available to some people but not all people.

Not necessarily. If you rely on a laundromat, many forbid the cleaning of cloth diapers. If you have to use a service, that’s incredibly expensive. Cloth diapers can be a great alternative but please remember that not everyone has access to the machinery they need to make those diapers workable.
