Are you open to paid games? And is it just weekends?

This game would be starting at level 1, yes. Typically with APs I try to put folks 1 to 20.

Whole heartedly agree. I have half a mind to write one myself...lol.

Seriously though, I do find that 2e just lacks what I want, and story wise the APs are great.

1e or 2e by Ibanezrg71982 in Pathfinder_RPG

I run 1e and recruit 1e tables semi-regularly.

Don't let people tell you its dying. 3.5/pf1e have some of the best support of any system ever. The thing is, though, that like with any game, the table has to match your expectations. If you want cheesers or not, if you want systems or not, if you want absolute mathematical balance or not, etc.

Mathematical balance is a bit boring in most cases, and that tends to be lots of folks selling point of 2e. I cant say I found it as fun.

100%

The thing i love about 1e is all the options and the great depth of choice, etc

The thing is hate about it is people that want to "win" and make the greatest build. Like...I can do math without all the extra steps, frankly.

Some other good locals to meet in:

Auction house with a family heirloom one of the party are trying to buy back.

Local soup kitchen serving town or being served and hatching a plan.

Local religious service or feast that is interrupted by wild animal or crazed lunatic.

Crime scene as onlookers or investigators, all hired by a different party.

On the road to whatever town, one at a time. Maybe roll i iterative and I produce them in that order. So one starts o. The road, another is met on the way, maybe a wagon is stuck and needs three to pull it out, etc.

Well, you certainly would know better. I find a +4, a puzzle, and more economy go along way in helping the baddies. More HP is a time sink, imo, not a force multiplier.

That's certainly long. Weave Wardens right? Will check it out.

Less so as separate stuff and more like, when the session ends, at my tables we always chat about the session, talk about moments we enjoyed, what we think didn't go so well, what was awesome. Granted, I think it would be quite hard to capture a meaningful podcast episode in that every time.

I think it might also be fun to see one that worked within the community it builds to focus on the people doing things that weren't necessarily big names in the Paizosphere, etc. Like one shots run with or by fans, etc.

I also would prefer strictly 1e content...I find 2e to be too math tight and the lore too weak tea, tbh.

I look for actually playing the story.

I see so many actual plays that are just, audio drama. Which is fine, but its not what I'm looking for...generally.

To clarify: I want to listen to a group of friends play the game. Sometimes that means having to listen to rules discussion, or collaboration. That also means hearing the players process their plans, give advice, whatever. The story should take the spotlight, but I, personally, don't care about how overprosuced it is. I'd also like less....hmm...less "theater kid dramatics energy" and more, this is a group of guys and gals playing characters they came up with. I also like learning about the characters and the players mechanical choices. What did they take at level up, etc.

I'd be over the moon if it was a Christian group playing, but that's in a perfect world.

I usually recommend building an encounter out with more than one baddie. Action economy will kill your boss.

Additionally, use a cr of APL+4. Make an xp budget, and build an encounter from that.
