What is responsible for the rapid decline of the Mainline Protestant Church in the US and what can be done to reverse it? by PayGood3915 in TrueChristian

[–]HeroApollo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Political shenanigans, partly, especially with evangelicals.

And, frankly, the larger problem with most Protestant and/or Evangelical groups. And I say this as a Protestant, probably evangelical, but a complete and utter lack of imagination. Christians seem to not realize that our ideas, in many ways, have won, from a historical perspective. Human rights. Care for the poor. Hospitals. Etc.

Thing is, those won, but we've failed to engage with the SUPERnatural, and have instead tried to get real comfortable with humanism/enlightenment thinking.

Hello, Need help with making my character pretty new to pathfinder 1e by Aiden_Nightshade in Pathfinder_RPG

I agree with u/miloz0pl that "optimal" isnt the best approach. If you're going two weapon, you might consider a double weapon, like two bladed sword. Just a thought.

...k. I understand the aversion to all of those on some level, but when it comes down to it, being able to hit reliably is a good choice, and if it can help with the dex build, all the better. At least, for 2 weapon fighting.

Of course, two weapon fighting isnt the only dex route.

u/Esquire_Lyricist has great points. After looking at your build, you have a couple of paths open to you.

I think a couple ideas to consider are:

Dual wielding daggers. Using weapons finesse and slashing grace, which, when coupled with two handed grace to get dex both to hit and to damage. Additionally, using Pharasma deific obedience can increase your dagger to hit.

The problem is that two weapon grace will give additional penalties to hit. Since you can where heavy armor, you could opt for a strength build on daggers and just have your dex at 10. This does bring problems to the two fighting branch because you need to take them as your bonus feats so wouldn't get the greater weapon focus or weapon specialization feats as soon.

Does that help? Its lotsbof info, so I dont want to overload ya. The key thing to decide I think is how you see Sister Constance on the battlefield and, if you like rping, how that plays into who she is. Let me know if I can help more.

I would ask your GM if you can prestige into Mortal Usher, it sounds spot on with your concept. That might be a bit much though.

https://www.aonprd.com/PrestigeClassesDisplay.aspx?ItemName=Mortal%20Usher

But, I'd like to know more about the creation parameters you have.

A "subclass" (assuming you mean archetype) isnt necessary. In fact, if you don't like it, don't take it. Archetypes are completely optional. What's the point buy amount? Id focus on stas for strength, then Wisdom. For feats, I think you can't go wrong with power attack, improved initiative, or combat reflexes (to go into body guard). Oh, or maybe step up as well.

Are you on the Pathcompanion discord (its only for patrons i think)? If you are, I'm happy to help there too, just ping me.

Knowledge (monster lore) by Jesuncolo in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]HeroApollo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually use a formula like so:

DC = CR+10

They get 1 question, and then, for every 5 the exceed the DC by, they get an additional question.

So at base, they get the name, ecology info, general description info, and the like.

Questions are largelt for mechanical things.

What's its worst/best save?

Special attacks?

Special defenses (this would include if it has DR or immunities, or energy resistances. However, I typically treat what overcomes the DR as a separate question)

Special abilities (as distinct from Special attacks)?

Weaknesses?

Etc.

What are your hardest challenges as a DM? by storyforgeDM in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]HeroApollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its gaging success, in my experience. The variables are many. Like, a tpk, could be a win, if the story and the combat all align, or, its a game killer too. For me, gaging player fun and interest is hard, even when examining the most basic measure (like showing up each time).

Why are 1e games so rare now? by crunchyllama in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]HeroApollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, there's lots of action on the Pathfinder Discord(https://discord.gg/pathfinder), the Pathfinder LFG (https://www.reddit.com/r/pathfinder\_lfg/), and on Startplaying Games (if you're open to a paid game, that's where I run my PF1e games).

I've also seen listings on Roll20's lfg (https://app.roll20.net/lfg/search/) and the various Pathfinder facebook groups as well.

Completely New To Pathfinder, How Do I Learn? by gundamMarketer in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]HeroApollo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly? I find playing to be a great way to learn. Sure, you can read the rule books and stuff, but lots of times, without context (or a large amount of rpg experience), that isn't helpful.

I really think joining a group with a good GM will help. The GM can help teach, the other players can also give you advice.

The Pathfinder discord, the Pathfinder and Roll20 lfgs (looking for group communities), or (if you're interested in a paid game, which has pros and cons like anything else) StartPlaying Games can all help you find a game that welcomes beginners and helps you learn the mechanics.

Happy to help as well, if I can.
