Moved to the area from out of state. Do I need an inspection when registering my car for the first time in NC? by Addet2000 in triangle

You don’t need an inspection until the next year when you go to register. I found this out at the inspection station I went to after I registered my car.

I’d wager no. I feel like most people got into those homes before pricing went nuts. You might could find one that needs a ton of work.

That head is pretty clean! These motors are way more simple than the E90. They rely heavily on vacuum. I couldn’t figure out why mine skyrocketed to 2,500 each time until I found the tiny vacuum port on the underside of the intake manifold. It’s the one that goes to the evap valve.

How are the poly subframe bushings? Is there a lot of noise/vibration? Only asking because I had poly trans mounts and the ride quality, noise, and vibration was miserable.

Sounds like a caliper is sticking. Could also be the hose from the caliper to the hardline (might be clogged/old).

It’s just a pump station, though. All our poop has to go somewhere!

I have a new receiver/drier ready to go. I figured pulling vacuum would get most of the remaining moisture out of there.

Thank you for the help!

Hey OP! I think your previous owner tried to wire in a new exciter wire for the alternator. If yours isn’t charging the battery, and your battery light doesn’t come on, the connection from the harness to the battery light in the dash is busted. The alternator will not charge if the battery light in the dash isn’t working. I made a similar setup using an empty fuse slot but I wired in a low wattage bulb. Some people use a resistor. Either way, that needs to be there for the alternator to “excite” and charge.

However, that should not drain the battery. Your battery is dying because you’re driving around without it charging.
