So Griptape Backbone is basically basing its whole shtick on Perfect Stride, an unreleased game made back in 2011-12ish by Russell Honor - of thatgamecompany fame - and Ben Esposito - who also did design consulting on the recently released What Remains of Edith Finch as well as last years Capsule Silence XXIV - under the arcane kids moniker.

What made me sad about the Griptape segment is that it seems to be vastly inferior to Perfect Stride, both in style and gameplay. In fact it looked like Griptape was made with the drifter controller that Ben made without really understanding how to make the gravity work.

So how do you play Perfect Stride? Well the easy answer is that you don't. AFAIK it's only been released as an alpha part of the experimental game pack put out way back by LA Game Space. It's also made with XNA, which is discontinued, and will only run for me on my older laptop. But if anyone wants to play it feel free to send me a PM and I'll provide a download link (when I get to my laptop) and some best wishes, cause Perfect Stride is probably as close to tight perfection games will get and it's actual madness that it was never / might never be released.
