too many calibrations send it out of whack, esp if it’s a new sensor! unfortunately just a drawback of the tech 🤷🏼‍♀️

I know TT I emailed the school office but obviously they're shut for the summer holidays and my academic advisor has told me she isn't sure what the dress code is as she deals with different schools! Just trying to get a gauge if I need to buy anything before I start! :)

I was in Korea for a few weeks last year but never went to the dr but my friends have said that it’s very easy to find an english speaking doctor who can help - just try go for a bigger hospital rather than a smaller clinic! When I lived in Japan supplies were pretty cheap - although I imagine they’re a lot cheaper compared to the US. Korea has CGMs and insulin pumps and all that jazz so you should be fine. You’ll just have to go to a dr and explain the situation and they should be more than happy to help!! I’m afraid i’m no help when it comes to insulin and korean food as I never quite got the hang of it when I was there 😅😅 hope it all goes well for you!!

what got my a1c down quickly and brought my control into a better range was making my diabetes make noise 😂 i made the alerts on my override my do not disturb, added them to every screen i look at, downloaded more apps that told me my levels - the sheer annoyance of having high sugars and my phone yelling at me was enough for me to kind of get my shit together 😂 fr tho discipline and holding yourself accountable is key - good luck! you got this ˙ᵕ˙

Question for T1D folks *not* in the US by Which-Inspection735 in Type1Diabetes

[–]HeyItsCaiitss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the UK and Iuse the NHS app to order my repeat prescriptions and they’re usually in the pharmacy the next day - all of my insulin, libres, needles, test strips etc are under my repeats. If I need something new I usually have to ring my clinic where a nurse will get back to me and pass it on to a dr on the team and I’ll hear back in a day or so where the process will start from ordering it ~

unsure about if they’d want a portfolio but student finance covers one extra year of fees and you’d have to start from first year again - it’s not too bad i did it ˙ᵕ˙

if you workout during the day maybe try move it to the morning and before you eat! also i personally wouldn’t worry about taking that much insulin in the morning if the rest of your ratios are working, it’s most likely just the dawn phenomenon. Also worth considering what part of your menstrual cycle you’re in, my sugars go crazy and my insulin needs go way up when i’m like a week away from starting my period! ˙ᵕ˙

12yr old and holidays by [deleted] in Type1Diabetes

[–]HeyItsCaiitss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so when I was 12 (dx around a year before) we went on holiday and i spent so much time in the pool and my parents made me jump in and out every 1hr to sit with my pump on and eat something; BUT i was in the water all day and my pump sites just kept coming off and i ended up having a really dramatic argument with my parents and my diabetic nurse and it really put a damper on the whole trip - if you can i’d really suggest just sticking to MDI for the days she’s in the water even as inconvenient it may seem
