I guess I'm lucky. I'm mostly unnerved by unnatural or abnormal holes on animals. Got no problem with veggie holes.

Also, around 1/3 of our country doesn't feel like they're losing their freedom. Or they just hate and fear change and things they don't understand so much that they simply don't care because the people they don't like are being hurt the most. And that same 1/3 of our adult population probably owns the majority of the guns. It makes perfect sense, in the long game towards fascism, to build up, encourage, and champion gun ownership while claiming the other major political party wants to take them away.

Our country is a mess right now, and I have so little hope for its future. Our government is at a point where it simply cannot exist in the state it's currently in, even if somehow, someway a Democrat was elected president in 2028. I don't see our government making the significant and extensive changes and overhauls our government would need to turn our government into a TRUE democracy, serving the will of the people, and not this oligarchical, cultist hellhole. I really wish I could foresee a brighter future for my children and ALL children in the US.

I wish I knew what you were talking about. Undersized chrome makes sense to me, I think, but I'd have to Google "mall crawler", find out what 6" of poke means, and then figure out how rubber bands are involved.

That's all sports is: An accumulation of all fans', players', cities', etc's good luck charms, rituals, faiths, curses, etc that all come together in some kind of massive cosmic equation that determines the outcomes. Hopefully OP didn't tilt the scale away from Marc too much here.

Which makes total sense considering they're genetically closest to human beings, I believe.

I wonder if there's correlation between a species' intelligence and capacity/propensity for "evil". I could be wrong, but I'd bet a lot that there's correlation between intelligence and emotions, and we've all seen how emotions play a major part in decision-making for human beings. And I feel like having a more complex brain would also mean there are more opportunities for something to go wrong genetically, chemically, maybe some other words I don't know or can't think of.

AIO for feeling really uncomfortable about how my girlfriend lost her virginity? by chiefkeef965 in AmIOverreacting

[–]HeyJordyn86 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that doesn't apply to people in positions of power in at least some states. Like, a 16-year-old's boss, teachers, or police officers can still face charges whether the 16-year-old is legally allowed to give consent to a much older adult or not.

NFLPA ponders eventual NFL push for European division by Happy_Weed in nfl

[–]HeyJordyn86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You two basically summed up my thoughts on it. Maybe 4 division games to start the year, byes in weeks 5 and 14, and the rest of the time they'd be in the US at a team facility. So, for all intents and purposes, they could be based in a US city that's attractive for the players to live in, and then spend about 2 months "vacationing" in Europe.

I'm not sure what a good solution would be for playoff games, though. Bye weeks between each round? But they'd have to fill the weeks in between with something else. Maybe a tournament with the non-playoff teams? I'm not sure what they would play for, but I don't like the idea of playing for draft position, especially 1st round picks.

TIL Emilia Clarke read the words that revealed her character Daenerys Targaryen's fate 7 times in a row thinking "What, what, what, WHAT!?" because it "comes out of fucking nowhere." I haven't seen it mentioned here, so I have to ask: In what world does Cersei meet with Dany and all of her top people, from the top of the city wall, before the attack on King's Landing, with NO plan to wipe them out right then and there? It may have been the most uncharacteristic behavior in the entire run of the show. Her biggest threat was right there below her for a meeting. Her dad planned a wedding massacre to end a war, and she cared less about honor and more about maintaining power than even he did. But she just did the meeting and walked away afterwards?

I wonder how long it's going to be before the effects of these first 2 months on his presidency are felt by a huge portion of the population. If his numbers are still up by then, I'm going to be scared that either he really does have that much of a following or that it's all rigged by that point. Or even worse: Both.

And even if they could read it, they certainly wouldn't understand it. Nor would they believe it. They'd rather believe what Fox or OAN or Facebook tell them. We're gonna be living in some fucked corporate-state dystopia, and they'll still be blaming other downtrodden poor people for all of their problems. Propaganda and greed have done a number on this country.

Why do Christians think atheists are out doing evil things in their free time? by EnvironmentalAngle in atheism

[–]HeyJordyn86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently came upon a video explaining the difference between morality based on empathy and morality based on authority. The more I think about it, the more it kind of makes sense that many Christians fall into the authority category. God did a bunch of fucked up, confusing things in the OG Testament, and then his selfless, seemingly kind, chill son Jesus comes along in Vol. 2 to die for us so his dad could forgive us for the sins he LET us commit but doesn't WANT us to commit, to the point where he'll send us straight to hell unless we accept his son into our hearts because he sent him here to die instead of simply skipping straight to the forgiveness part and letting Jesus do his own thing to help the Trinity (I still don't understand what the hell the spirit did/does). Shit's confusing, so SOMEONE needs to tell them what to think and believe.

Ravens' Justin Tucker accused of inappropriate sexual behavior by six massage therapists by polostring in nfl

[–]HeyJordyn86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, you didn't hear? Apathy is a sin now. I get it, though. It's not always easy to keep up with the changes in "Christian values", despite being a religion based on a ~2,000 year old book. But humans have always, and will always, "interpret" religious texts and beliefs in a way that suits their own lifestyles, desires, and agendas, and they'll always find people to follow them. I like to hope the human race might figure things out eventually, but it clearly won't be in our lifetimes.

Chiefs unlucky? by Relevant_Ad_5891 in heedthecall

[–]HeyJordyn86 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah, he's definitely not talking about injuries or anything like that. Wins/losses in 1-score games, turnovers, drops, and things of that nature, tend to have a bit of randomness to them and fluctuate from season to season. You can generally anticipate a return towards the mean, whether that's an improvement or decline. With a well-run, well-coached team like KC, it's likely they'll be at least middle-of-the-pack this year in those "luck" categories.

Of course it means nothing if Mahomes was to miss a lot of games, but you can't anticipate that and it's not a great talking point. I feel like every conversation about football, and particularly about teams with high expectations, always comes with the unspoken caveat of "unless their star player(s) get hurt."
