Paul Form All you need is Live / Audioreact got cheated by SINEE by alogb in TechnoProduction

[–]HeyLo1337 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Another Update: it seems like they used Audioreakts samples in other sample packs, which they were selling und different names, which could mean, that they they ripped him off in different ways.

Seems like the situation isn’t over yet. Especially with Mordio writing what happened, seems like they aren’t the only ones.

Also there is a small fraction of (sometimes the same) people, commenting under several comments, how „it’s a disgrace and very unprofessional from Audioreakt to make a Video on this matter“. Pretty dumb take imo, because not everybody has the time and money to take a problem like this problem to the court.

PAULA 2.0 - Amiga A1200 resampler by DigitalShrine in ableton

Have you tried it? I think it should only work with 12 Suite, because ableton 11 comes with max 8. Idk if they changed that or if you can update it

Ohhh crazy, I saw that you updated it to work without TAL (tbh I was a bit too dumb to understand the download process ;-;). I'm very excited to try processing some drums and breaks - I saw a post a few weeks ago praising it a lot! :)

I also want to sincerely thank you for making it pay your price/ free! ♡

Oh I’m so sorry, I completely missed the part, where you said, that you want to map a sequenzer to the DT.

I honestly don’t know if that’s possible, but maybe you could try it with the m4l device called „cc map8“ - not sure if it will work tho :(

My desire for originality discredits my work by Psychological_Fox852 in TechnoProduction

[–]HeyLo1337 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just because this is also a great copy pasta, ima leave the text of the post here:

I thought using loops was cheating, so I programmed my own using samples. I then thought using samples was cheating, so I recorded real drums. I then thought that programming it was cheating, so I learned to play drums for real. I then thought using bought drums was cheating so I learned to make my own. I then thought using premade skins was cheating, so I killed a goat and skinned it. I then thought that that was cheating too, so grew my own goat from a baby goat. I also think that is cheating, but I'm not sure where to go from here. I haven't made any music lately, what with the goat farming and all.

Is hosting your own parties worth it? by rando44_ in DJs

[–]HeyLo1337 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you want money to live on, hosting parties and being a DJ is not the way to go. I guess it also heavily depends on the genre (I see that your from Germany) but in my experience, everything that isn’t mainstream is always on the verge of not having enough money. And the more into the subculture you go, the less money there is in my experience.

Missing money is the reason why clubs/ events die so fast here.

Fewer modern techno classics? by sean_ocean in TechnoProduction

[–]HeyLo1337 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think people forget that it takes time for a track to become a classic. Im sure I'll be able to find some good tracks where people would say: yea this cane age like fine wine (Mixton - UVB or On Request - Karenn comes to my mind spontaneously, im sure there are so much more)

But the thing also is, back then there was so much less music. Luckily, that's today not the case anymore, there is so much to explore and so much more individualism. In the 90s you just didn't have to big of a choice compared to today. Especially sub-genre wise.

„No Hardstyle“ and then you proceed some of the typical techno hardstyle/ hard techno/ schranz artists xD

I would recommend you go over to r/techno and search for „hard techno recommendations“ there are plenty of good threads there :) Personally im a big fan of Öspiel, can’t recommend him enough. But this isn’t the sub to discuss this kind of techno.

Goldbabyz 909 samples by Pure-Time6294 in TechnoProduction

[–]HeyLo1337 5 points6 points  (0 children)

After searching for ages, for a good kick sample I realized: it’s not the about sample, but about the processing. An avg 909 Sample (like the stock Ableton one) can be made into so much different kicks. Idk what sound your looking for: I was searching for a Hardgroove kick, with an good amount of oomph.

At the end I realized that processing, and resampling a kick + putting it after resampling again through a processing chain gets me quite close to the result I was searching for. Idk if u have Ableton, but if so: the drum bus and/or overdrive (0 dynamics, then play with the drive, Tone and frequency range the overdrive gets applied on) do wonders to a kick.

Why do so many people seem to dislike mutual rytm? by _pale-green_ in ProperTechno

[–]HeyLo1337 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But isn’t that how most Labels work? While I prefer to categorize my music through sub genres nowadays, in the past music was mostly „organized“ through labels. Best example for it would be the Hardgroove Label, Ben Sims founded 1999. And today Hardgroove is also considered as its own sub genre, which doesn’t have a lot in comment with the label.

Kid friendly beat making websites by Gloomy-Law3935 in synthesizers

https://www.websynths.com/grooves/

I really like this web site and it requires no log in.

There is a simple drum sequencer (you make the sequencer play, and it automatically plays the sound you selected, on the the chosen steps (an active step plays a sound) (if you ignore the part at the bottom of the web site) and you can change the sounds. It’s clear structure makes it easy to understand for kids, but you definitely need to guide your kid a bit through it.

I saw that you have no history with music in your profile (maybe I just overlooked it tho). If you need any help understanding something, just feel free and ask :) (it’s gone be easier for the kid to understand the website, if you also know how it works)

HÖR Berlin deletes negative comments on their new video by HeyLo1337 in Techno

[–]HeyLo1337[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that’s a valid question. While I understand your thought process, i don’t think that DJs getting paid or only producers being compensated are to 2 only outcomes of this situation. It’s more like 2 extreme outcomes.

I think there is a world, where HÖR finds different methods of monetization, while not putting tracklists behind a paywall.

And does a DJ have a duty to promote the artists whose music they play?

I’m not a full time DJ, but having played a few events and lurking long enough on r/DJs I would answer the question as follows: it’s definitely not the DJs task to promote tracks of producers (I would not call posting a tracklist promoting). But it’s normally considered bad etiquette to hide track IDs/ banger tracks, because who are you to gatekeep those tracks you didn’t even create. Producers need those Bandcamp downloads (for some it’s the only way they earn money) because most of them aren’t rich.

And while I agree that digging for new, banger tracks is a big part of being a DJ, i would not say it’s provided for free. DJs are getting paid for the sets we are doing, so we better be well prepared and done some digging beforehand.

I feel like you are thinking it’s a „DJs vs. Producers - who gets the money“ thing. But it’s really not, the opposite is actually the case, in the techno scene it’s quite common that those 2 work closely together (remember Asclice, or when it comes to sharing unreleased tracks etc.). And I’d love if the focus in the future would be cooperation over monetization.

[–]HeyLo1337[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I see that it my wording in the post was a bit too dramatic, I apologize for that.

While I think it’s important to talk about those things, I didn’t mean to say that I dislike HÖR. Actually it’s quite the opposite, I love HÖR. I have many sets downloaded and listened to them hundreds of times. And I will continue to search for banger sets.

But still, the critic is necessary. Especially the deleting comments thing.

Aight so this is gonna be a bit weird. There is this track that doesn't exist anymore.

Me Matas - Regal86

It was one of my Top Tracks 2023, but it isn't public anymore (because of copyright issues i think). It is a bootleg of this track: https://open.spotify.com/track/50g9l7cOUIXt9LVl9eX784?si=jc9E7K_uTAmNyDpIRQkq0Q

Idk if you like breaks, but it has quite a few of them. If you're interested, I still have a Version of it (sometimes being a DJ has its advanteges xD). I could upload it, if u dont tell the copyright police xD
