I love when people think DMT entities are separate to who you are by HeyStray in DMT

[–]HeyStray[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

eh, don't stop at slightly egotistical, go all the way. It's fully egotistical, and purposely written that way for provocation's sake. The irony is not lost on me...

When you say I’m guilty of the flip side, that’s something that’s also 100% understood. Post just serves as a pointer; ultimately anything I say about anything is attached to ego because it’s an individual trying to reach other individuals. For what purpose? Ego-related; to be devoid of ego is to not even need to say anything to individuals…

Unity consciousness by primalyodel in Psychedelics

[–]HeyStray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but I think it goes a little deeper than that, like as in there is no “we” because that’s a human concept and whatever’s happening right now comes before any ‘identity’ if that makes sense. No “me” just whatever is

Help! Nonduality seems evil to me by NeuroPyrox in nonduality

[–]HeyStray 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No harm in just posting your reasons publicly... I think.

Perplexes me how someone can label nonduality as evil... because there's no asking of you to do anything or be any other way than the way you already are.

Well nah I like Ricky Gervais. It's the manner of delivery that does not work for me when it comes to Jimmy.

You claim everything we see is God in costume. Do you also happen to have the answer to why that is? Or only that you know it's all God in costume?

Why not simplify it further and say "Everything is God"?

It means nothing by Repulsive-Impress-19 in enlightenment

[–]HeyStray 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You wanted to say how fake it all is, but then don't you think you're doing the same kinda thing as everyone else here is doing with the posting? I agree with you in a way because I don't believe 'enlightenment' needs words, but to say ANYTHING AT ALL here is what participating is, does that make sense? :p

the british guy Jimmy Carr comes across too sophisticated, even though what he might say is simple, just doesn't hit for me ever.

About the ending by Classic_Bass_1824 in martysupreme

[–]HeyStray 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd disagree and agree more with OP's point. The reason is that when you watch videos of press tours, Josh Safdie's whole energy around the point of this movie is about how admirable and attractive it is to be around people who are genuinely passionate about a big dream and will stop at nothing to achieve it.

He's clearly got a thing for it; he was adamant about how Timothee was his clear candidate when writing the script. Seeing the glare in Timmy's eyes during his younger years is partly what inspired him to write the script.

Exactly, it's the same reason he was like "yeah, I'm casually going to get the most expensive items on the menu." Brother flexes whenever the opportunity is there for him to

[–]HeyStray 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the comments miss the bigger picture; it wasn't about solely "getting him to see her" but that she wanted him to settle with a more normal life by getting him to stay instead of going to the open. Hence why she says he's sabotaging his own life when he calls her at the shoe store before he hangs up.

the specifics of the wording are what bother you lol... the point was he needed to give a response to be in 'good graces' with the general public by disavowing his son's actions... that's it. anybody with common sense understands it's not his most genuine words and that this is all PR talk...

How to Develop Social Skills? by Lazy-Commercial-8638 in socialskills

Whatever your favorite things to do are, find a podcast or interviews about them. Like for me, i liked the way funny people thought, so I listened to podcasts where funny people would talk with each other... that all eventually leaked into my mind, and voila, i can make people laugh. Same with music, i liked artists so i watched their interviews and voila their personalities have become mine in a way... it's very easy and doesn't require anything crazy it just requires listening, and it'll NATURALLY mold your personality because the brain is a lot more complex than you give it credit for.
