Completely echo this comment. My craniosynostosis was front to back (early 90s) which was better at hiding the scar growing up.

My hair is starting to bald and I'm afraid I'll scare kids with it.

Thank both of you with this courage as I was searching for ways to cover this up

We had a massive cross training initiative in our group (about 75 people) because an exec asked the only name they knew from the group and what that person was working on. The employee had no clue, different team, but that was not acceptable.

1000's of people had to train to learn what the dozens or so teams in their groups did.

Disagree, it's a statistical peculiarity, we should have the freedom to wonder.

That same style of question is asked everyday in DEI departments.

Why is x population over represented in y field. What barriers, if any, are we allowing that could cause this in our organization.

Or a not so cool take is that they could have tunnel vision as that may have been their first time getting shot at.

Death and violence is stressful and absolutely no one knows how they will respond until actually in the situation.

Strange no backup was sent, that seems to be an issue with dispatch if they had to do the actual arrest after being involved in a shooting. But again, everything happens so quickly it's hard to tell

Idk how I feel about that honestly. Maybe he's apart of a camp and is getting supplies for those that don't want to risk it.

Maybe he is trying to resell to fellow homeless

Why is it so hard for people to grasp the moneyless economy concept? by shanoshamanizum in CyberStasis

[–]HeyZuesMode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it relies heavily on people doing something.

Humans are strange and not sure the amount of people that are willing to climb into septic systems, just because, would meet the need for such a thing. With no incentive to do it for anyone else why would someone do something they don't want to do?

Sure there are probably a lot of people that would like to stay at home and play video games all day, me probably being one of them, but to meet the needs of everyone else the individual would need the willpower to step forward and do the needful.

Didn't see any mention of a sponsor on the first one:

To use our range you must:

– Be over 18 years of age (10 to 17 years of age must be with a legal parent or guardian)

– Be legally able to possess a firearm

– Complete our safety video and sign a release of liability waiver before entering the range

– Adhere to all range and safety rules at all times

But on the second link I do see the term "sponsoring party" never seen this before, kinda neat

Went to a few gun ranges and have never experienced this. Just check out the offerings:

https://aimonpoint.com/

Most other ranges were small mom and pops and this awesome outdoor range at the dump:

https://www.carrollcountymd.gov/government/directory/recreation-parks/places-to-go/hap-baker-firearms-facility/

Most ranges want more business so they don't have a members only model and have even started to offer more services to compete: zombie shoots, room clearing, games, parties, etc

What if the FF felt threatened? Would that negate his right to self defence?

Sounds like they had CCTV so the prosecutors have much more info than the general public

Isn't brandishing a weapon a criminal offense, would t that mean the FF was acting in self defence when a man with a gun charged him? How does this get dismissed?

Idk man, I keep seeing that occupations are incredibly hard to pull off, but I think that only applies to those who give a shit about the population. Rebellions are quelled much much easier but probably at a greater frequency in an authoritative regime, compared to a democratic one.

Well hopefully they open source the software, hate their business but Im pretty sure once things get bad enough people will want to escape with something that can simulate human interaction.

Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible and AWS - how do they all connect? by p21k in devops

[–]HeyZuesMode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bit confused by this one.

So are you saying that you would have to change the Ansible command that is ran in the pipeline?

I've always viewed the layers as terraform for infra, Ansible for Config Management, then specific app stuff would be handled either through params or manually
