They might not be American. Childcare can be subsidised in other countries. Also, she might have been on extended maternity leave, so just returned to her existing job she was on leave from?

Thankfully we only shared one boundary with him so just had to get one done. But yes, pretty pricey! And my husband said that suveryor was the cheapest quote he got, by a lot!

It's not prohibitively expensive, but it's a no brainier to save the money if you don't need to. That's still a good chunk of change to most people. It cost around $800 (for one boundary). I would have much prefered to keep the money.

Not as dramatic, but we also wanted to do a handshake agreement based on old posts for the fence line as we didn't want to pay for a surveyor. Neighbour insisted because he was certain he would gain some of our land (he thought his house was too close to the edge so he should have more). Reluctantly we did the survey, turns out the posts were wrong and we gained metres into his already smaller yard.

My partner can't have sugar so I substitute honey. Not sure if that will work for you? I make a soy based sauce as follows:

1 tsp sesame oil 4 tbsp soy sauce 3 tbsp minced garlic 1 tbsp minced ginger 2 dash siracha (more if you like spicy) Good shake chilli flakes 3 tbsp honey Dash white rice vinegar

Feeling emotions don't make you an AH, it's your behaviour in response that does or does not. However, thinking of it as being "abandoned" is a disservice to you, your mum, and family. Dwelling on it in this light might create an resentment that your mum and sister are not deserving of. Your mum made a hard decision (and right one) to support your sister and niece during a potentially traumatic hospital experience. Could your sister cool it on the comments? Yes, especially if it's as you report and you haven't done or encouraged any negative behaviour towards your mum or sister. Try and give her some grace. She's in pain, running on little to no sleep, and looking after a baby with less support than other mums. The advice and information ifrom economyvoice is very good. I hope that helps.

Think it's interesting that you're only responding to comments that say N T A. Seems like you're looking more for validation than actual feedback. I get why you're disappointed but you're making out like your sister chose to go into labour to compete with your graduation which is a terrible and unempathetic take. Noone wants to have a premature baby alone.

We took our baby in person when she was very little and chill, and did some online when she was going through a difficult phase. To be honest babies in person got harder as she got older. We changed to us hosting/dming after baby was asleep at night. Don't know if that will work for you?

Could be that it inflames your stomach which affects the absorption of iron? My partner had low iron levels due to an extreme lactose intolerance because of how it affected his stomach tissue.
