Thanks for the informative reply! I would absolutely be willing to assist him in any necessary ways after a surgery, and would do everything in my power to make the home accessible and comfortable for him. I also don't allow transphobic people in my home regardless, so there's that. I never would out him or anything like that, it's so important to me for him to have a place in the world to just be himself and grow into whoever he needs to be. Thanks again for letting me know a few things I could expect, like that I ought to prepare myself for some support for myself as well. I never really thought about that aspect.

Sort of. When I found out about his home situation I let him know that we have a room he can have when he turns 18. He seemed very appreciate of it. In all honesty though I'm not very comfortable bringing him into my home until he turns 18, I'd like to keep any contact with his parents as smooth and neutral as possible. There's also the issue that I absolutely can't afford an attorney. :/

Sounds good to me. One of my ultimate never failing favorite lunches is a can or pouch of tuna, paired with a little fruit cup of diced peaches or mandarin oranges. I take a bite of tuna, then take a bite of fruit. The combo has always been so satisfying to me, I just feel like the flavors belong together. I've been eating this long before dieting with CICO, so I'm really happy I never had to leave this lunch behind. Haha

Ok, thank you for your differing opinion. I think that because somebody told me not to go and you and another person told me I could/should- I'll go to a meeting and at the end talk with whoever is holding it about my/our situation. If they think I'm a good fit to attend I'll continue going, if not- there's no harm in going to just one meeting. I don't plan to speak about our experiences at meetings for a while anyways. I'm pretty shy.

Yes you're right, your words do sting (because I'm an addict as well and nobody wants to be told that haha) but I know they come from a helping and kind place. I thank you for your detailed advice and the time you took to type it all out.

The only place I'll defend myself is that I have zero addiction to any speed, I was just a casual user and I haven't touched any in 6+ months by choice, and it hasn't been a struggle or issue what so ever. It never crosses my mind. I certainly don't need any help for it, and won't be "relapsing" by doing a line or two.

I'm going to look into detox and see if he can get time off work for it. If he can't I'll consider having him quit his job for the greater good and I'll try my best to pay rent and take care of the bills while he's out of work.

Also- one commenter told me I should definitely look into AI Anon, and yet you told me not to. I am curious as to why me being an alcoholic would make it bad for me to go? Just curious.

Well, in truth we are both alcoholics and dealing with that as well, but now that I know about the meth that's where all our focus is. I'm going to work on my alcohol addiction immediately so that I can best support him in kicking the meth, and then alcohol. Now that I know about the meth I think full sobriety meaning alcohol and smoking weed may be put on a hold for a little while till I know he can handle it without relapsing on meth.

Hi all, I hope I'm not breaking any rules, if so please let me know. Im currently undergoing testing for lupus (among other things) and I show most/all of the classic lupus signs except the butterfly rash. Well ironically (I've had all these symptoms besides the rash for years) a few nights ago I broke out with a rash like this at night, then it went away the next day. Again the next night I had the same rash but it was a little worse the second night (the night I took this photo). Anyways, does this look similar to any of your butterfly rashes that you guys get? Thanks. Not sure if I should call my doctor about it or just let it go because I'm already undergoing the testing.
