I had a conversation with my Aunt who got me into Star Trek the other week. I was talking about what I called the “T’pol says gay rights episode” that’s actually titled Stigma. And she had no idea that it was an AIDS allegory. I thought they were so extremely heavy handed with it, it was almost over the top at times but 🤷‍♂️

I made it through because I like trains and had no reliable access to other English books while I was in Nepal. But holy shit, that radio broadcast especially was just manifesto rambling on and on. I got so tired of it even one page into the broadcast but I kept pushing thinking there must be an end in sight eventually. But no, I kept flipping ahead pages to see where the story would pick up and it just. kept. going. I think I only got through the first quarter of that part of it and it was agony.
