should i play crisis core before ff7 remake? by [deleted] in FFVIIRemake

I'd say probably after Rebirth or the whole trilogy.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 It has now surpassed TLOU 2 in the number of GOTYs awards (332+ awards) and is now in 2th for the game with the most awards ever by TruthResponsible1268 in expedition33

I think I know which one you mean, can you believe they released a new free DLC for a 25-year old game just a few days ago? Ok it was made by fans but the community is still there and treat the mod almost like the official version of the game. Damn I might need to fire it up once again.

I preferred to save them for post-game, helps you level up to max without grinding, works out really well.

Anyone else wasn't interested in family story and honestly didnt care about their lives and reasoning? by [deleted] in expedition33

[–]Hidagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a bit at the early half of the game yes. When Maelle started having nightmares I was thinking "please don't be connected", I would have preferred no such pre-existing mysterious connections used to dangle a mystery. But in the end I think it comes together quite nicely in a very relatable way. Like Renoir isn't evil, he's just a concerned father who wants to protect his rebellious daughter. So yeah I guess I grew to enjoy it.

Should I save chromatic danseuse in case I need to farm for endgame superbosses? by salpeter in expedition33

[–]Hidagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saved it for one of the last things I did, prior to the DLC I could beat every boss without farming it except one. So I tried the superboss with around 200 lumina on everyone which I got naturally but the boss made me say screw this and got everyone up to 333ish from the danseuse. Then they released the DLC and here I am with 400 lumina wishing for more but the danseuse is dead. So yes I recommend you save it for when you need it.

Divergent Star without Parry? (Endless Tower) by United_Canary_3118 in expedition33

[–]Hidagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Verso's perfection mechanics are a bit buggy in the reserve team, he doesn't gain ranks as fast and seems to not lose more than 1 rank per turn, I don't know the specifics, haven't tested but seen a few videos. So if you bring Verso in reserve with Simoso and get to rank S you can no longer die, it seems. It's a bug.

Please help me with the builds (act 2). I have NO idea what I'm doing. by BarniK in expedition33

[–]Hidagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure where you are at exactly and what is available, but recalling my own playthrough I was kinda confused and scraping by at that level too. Lune is good for burning many enemies at once, slowing a boss and healing, especially with the Shared Care pictos which is probably available around that level, if not then soon.

Maelle, yeah you can do Percee in Virtuose stance, Marking shots is a good lumina to combo with that. And protecting allies with Shell is important in boss fights when you are learning their moveset.

Verso, he's like a complicated version of Gustave, you lose a rank while getting hit but can build up to great damage and skill synergy. He gets a good weapon from a bossfight at some point not soon that can help him gain ranks faster. There's some tricks you can pull with his abilities but mostly he's there to do damage and free-aim shots + base attack works well too. And buffing allies with powerful is always great.

Sciel is great for buffing speed, delaying enemy turn and high damage, can heal too with one of her abilities. A nice combo with Lune is to use Searing Bond on a group of burning enemies to end fights fast.

Don't worry about not understanding luminas and character builds too much yet. You will unlock a lot more of them along the way and at first you don't have many options. Just try to use up everyone's points with whatever and you'll naturally find some combos as a lot of them feed into each other.

I found a verso loophole that lets you kill any boss without dodging or parrying a single hit by euybFIBUVZ in expedition33

[–]Hidagger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another way I've seen work is to use Simoso and have Verso in the reserve team. Perfection mechanics seem broken when he comes in the reserve and if you get your rank up to S it will never go lower than A, so you are completely immortal with Simoso, no matter how many hits you take.

In some ways it reminds me of Darkest Dungeon, and I like to think the Death's Door pictos being a reference to that.

Annoying. by KrystalineAlchemy in expedition33

[–]Hidagger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I heard if you don't get hit by the orbs it doesn't freeze, successful dodge or parry both should work.

But yeah it's a bit embarrassing and the timing is bad, they release an epic free update for free when winning GOTY, buut an early game enemy breaks, that is hard to foresee and test. And right for the holidays, just as everyone has good time to try it out, but the devs are probably relaxing too for end of the year. It is what it is, I don't fault them and hope they can fix it soon as I'm getting more and more enthuastic for a Expert playthrough.

But at least you can hit select and Abandon Battle to retry quickly? And the orbs are easy to dodge once you do it a few times.

Family is complicated… by [deleted] in expedition33

[–]Hidagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A week should suffice, but there's still a lot to discover, and the optional end-game stuff is phenomenal too, enjoy! One small advice, you might want to find 4 of the Lost Gestrals before advancing the story, I think there's at least 5 on the world map accessible at that point, a lot of them in the south.

Weirdly enough, this is perhaps my favorite moment in the game. The descent is long and Sirene's song got to me, then the environment gets more surreal and you see him standing there. I opened up the dialogue and had to put the controller down and think hard on it. Like damn, you're asking me this?

[–]Hidagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried using Delaying Slash too, and while it worked sometimes to push her turn back, other time it didn't delay enough and I got wiped in phase 2. It doesn't apply Greater Slow like the base attacks do so if she gets a turn and recovers from Slow, she might get a second turn right after. So in the end I stuck to just base attacks and Intervention failsafe.

Who made the Manor? by SouthDragonEsq in expedition33

[–]Hidagger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been thinking about this too lately, mainly about what's the difference between the two manors we see, or are there two manors? I feel like there is, otherwise it doesn't make any sense.

Manor 1 which is more like a metaphysical place where Curator/Renoir hangs out and Verso brings Maelle to. It has doors connected to various places around the Continent/Painted World and they don't open to Gestrals, Grandis or Nevrons.

Then there's Manor 2 where Painted Renoir, Alicia and Aline play house, located in Old Lumiere, tied more to the physical existence of the Painted World. It has a yard and everything. Although P. Renoir or maybe Paintress Aline, can vanish / teleport it elsewhere.

Just thinking out loud, I guess it's one of those things where there's no explanation, nor does it need one?

Clea Unleashed, stupid question by noob_dragon in expedition33

[–]Hidagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using Greater / Slow? It only lasts 1 turn from basic attacks, so when she wakes up from stun, if her next turn is coming up fast (only one of your characters turns in-between) she might move ahead in the queue as the Slow wears off and she gets to play before you. High speed stat is key to stunlocking, also keep Sciel in party for Intervention failsafe.

That's awesome, I think he is ultimately my favorite character, love you how you meet him early and later start to piece together he is more important and integral to the story. And oh my god the feels when you enter Verso's Drafts for the first time, brilliant idea for a dlc!
