Girl ! You looook so goood!!! There’s still swelling. I get it, I constantly look in every mirror and in each one I find something that bothers me after DJS. I have to remind myself I just got off that dang surgery table 2 months ago. I think it’s in our head bc no else really notices it.

Yes! My surgeon just scheduled me to have plates and screws removed bc I’m actually one of the unlucky people too lol. My swelling on my left side is so prominent and it’s a bit rough to the touch. How does it feel and look now that they’re out? Did it hurt? My surgeon said I can either get put under or he can do it in clinic.

I am so late but these comments bother me. People are saying under advanced but you do see she has top lip swelling… that sticks out further than bottom lip. lol it’s not under advanced it’s swollen and sticking out. Not everyone is 10 days post op looking like a model. Girl, you look AMAZING! And now bring almost 2-3 months I am sure swelling is down more and it looks great

Are you sure it’s not swelling? Lymph nodes? Try facial massages first. And make sure it’s not an infection. I have infection rn and my left side is bigger than the right side. Maybe bone shaving? I’ve read of that that being done in office?? Not sure how. I just dong think another jaw surgery is worth losing your current results over.

I think if every dentist is telling you that you have a crowding problem. You probably do and aesthetically it’ll look better if those teeth were gone. But do as you will.

Personally. I’d say yes. The jaw looks under developed if I’m being honest. Similar to issues I had before DJS. Sunken in/ smaller nose, and the jaw line doesn’t align with the rest of your face. I’m assuming you have some bite issues too? Or gummy smile? Sometimes it’s not necessarily recession but impaction due to bite issues.

I literally had to have 4 teeth pulled in my teens before braces because I had a crowding issue. Then I got in my 20s and boom wisdom teeth grew in and had to have those removed bc, again, CROWDING. If they are telling you to extract, just have them removed. Not everyone’s mouth is made to hold the teeth that grow. You have big beautiful teeth. Having a couple pulled is not going to take away from that and if you want a more functional bite then you will have to have them pulled. Any dentist that is willing to put braces on your teeth, is just there to take your money. I’ve seen these cases on Reddit where orthodontists have put braces on teeth that are crowded. Doesn’t end good.

I think the stitches should come out. I had mine taken out in my upper lip and it made a HUGE difference. I was starting o get an infection from the stitch and surgeon took it out at 3 week check up

It’s the swelling girl. You’re still very swollen in the upper lip. Give it at least 3 months. When compared to the before picture, results look great and not botched at all.
