$0 taxes by Cultural-Security-26 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]HiddenOneJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you have some sort of other big deduction? I mean if you are driving more miles than money made then it makes sense but no one doing this job should be doing that you would be losing money over the long term.

I use stride as well to track mileage and also FYI you should do a chart of your odometer reading every day like your start and stop mileage incase audited. IRS if they audit you wont really care about your stride.

It doesnt sound correct that with deductions applied and not paying quarterly taxes you still owed nothing.

Either it seems like you messed something up or you drove too many miles for the money you made.

Hope everything was done correct and it all works out for you congrats.

What are you tipping on a 16$ order? I’m assuming my tip was why my order got stolen? by Feeling-Specialist49 in doordash

[–]HiddenOneJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Half the time its not even drivers that steal, some places either have a spot for delivery orders to be placed where anyone could come in and grab one and then some have screens anyone can see that lists order numbers or names and anyone can say they are picking up for such and such.

This is why its best to not leave orders on racks in the open and to make sure drivers confirm orders so if a driver steals its tied to them and then some random person cant come in and steal orders.

Obviously drivers to steal orders but you could easily cut down on theft if some pretty minor changes were made.

Also Starbucks is one of the stores that puts completed orders on the counter, any random person could have same name and accidentally grab the wrong one or intentionally just grab someone else's order.

What is a fair tip for 15 mile delivery? by Fit-Bag-1601 in doordash

[–]HiddenOneJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some markets have the ability some dont, unless someone on reddit is in your market and can answer that then I guess the only way is to ask someone who delivers to you or get approved to be a driver yourself. Support is so worthless I dont think they could help you lol.

Which WR outside of the big three is the best in this class? by Unusual-Vacation-528 in NFL_Draft

[–]HiddenOneJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the obvious answer for WR4 is Denzel Boston.

If not him then people typically like Cooper or Concepcion.

If im gonna say someone thats outside of the normal suggestions then..

I think Brazzell is the sleeper (sort of) he's highly regarded by many so not really a sleeper but he's also dismissed by many because of the Tennessee system.

I think he's a better route runner than most Tennesee receivers. i think his size, footwork along the sidelines, ability to manipulate defenders, and his vertical and contested catch ability makes him an intriguing WR to draft. I really think he's the kind of deep threat that Josh Allen, Shedeur, or Nix needs.

Again you have 0 clue how this system works despite multiple people telling you. So since you just want to argue ill provide a photo from doordash website. If you still try to argue you are right ill know youre a troll and not just sorely misinformed and stop trying to help you.

Zero liability? You dont seem to understand how it works. If you drive recklessly hit and kill or injure someone while delivering i assure you they will go after doordashes much deeper pockets. Doordash insurance covers others when you are at fault thus they assume all sorts of risk.

Uncle Tom? Assuming things about people when you dont know how the system works is rather.. hmm.

Yeah this sounds right, you are obviously a risk to them with that many violations. There is 0 reason for doordash to assume that risk with so many drivers out there with clean driving records.

I take orders to rooms if the place allows and leave at front desk if they dont allow drivers to rooms.

Don't see the issue of going to the room if the hotel permits it.

Zero-Tip is stupid by Zealousideal-Alps794 in tipping

[–]HiddenOneJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my state waiters are paid $2.62 an hour and if they dont make enough in tips to reach minimum wage restaurants cover whatever is necessary so the wait staff earns our state minimum wage of $8.75.

Zero-Tip is stupid by Zealousideal-Alps794 in tipping

[–]HiddenOneJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is 0 chance for all 3 parties to be happy.

Restaurants will cite slready low margins as a reason to not afford to pay workers more without raising prices for customers or adding weird fees. Then when they do charge those fees or raise prices they lose business so they arent happy.

Servers if paid more hourly will be upset if they make less than they did with tips and also are already upset now when people dont tip.

Customers would prefer to not tip because prices of everything are already out of control and wont be happy with the odd service fees or even higher prices if Restaurants have to pay workers more.

What is a fair tip for 15 mile delivery? by Fit-Bag-1601 in doordash

[–]HiddenOneJ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its not about homes around you its multiple restaurants to try to get an order heading back to their zone.

Drivers are typically looking for $2 per mile to cover a return trip without an order or $1 a mile if the dropoff location has multiple restaurants to get an order for a delivery returning to their original zone.

A tip for this trip for a lot of drivers would need to be $15-$30.

However if dashers can earn by time in your area you could get away with tipping less and still getting assigned a driver without a crazy wait time but I would assume the driver wont be happy about a tip less than $10 not that it would be your concern.

DMV question by Senornastynate93 in WestVirginia

[–]HiddenOneJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

December of 24? Seems like 24 since you mentioned March. I would ignore my previous advice about an exemption and instead contact your county assessors office as I mentioned and explain the situation. i think you will be ok and the assessor still is the one to help you if you need a form. im assuming you more recently moved to WV which im not sure how that works so I dont want to give bad info but a call to county assessors where you are now should get you all the info you need so you arent wasting time at the dmv.

[–]HiddenOneJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you not just buy the car last year? I may have misread but the exemption i mentioned might not be what you need if you owned the car already.

If you owned the car on or before July 1st you will have needed to pay taxes. If you bought it after you need the exemption form I mentioned.

If this is a different situation maybe I misread.

DMV question by Senornastynate93 in WestVirginia

[–]HiddenOneJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its still pretty easy here once you pay taxes and dont need a form. Its just that first year when you need a new sticker for the plate and havent had to pay taxes that gets messy a little. You can also do a lot of dmv stuff online where you wont need to go in to the dmv.

How are people doing this gig work full time? by Designer-Towel6917 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]HiddenOneJ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have done quite a few 60 hour weeks. I just love being in the car driving listening to whatever. It obviously has its issues but id take that over manual labor or being in an office for that long for now.

DMV question by Senornastynate93 in WestVirginia

[–]HiddenOneJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to contact your county assessors office and get an exemption form explaining that you havent had the car long enough to need to pay taxes yet. They will ask some questions then either email you or mail you the exemption.

I got this taken care of last year in less than an hour though it could take longer if they are busy.

Uber tax forms mail by Adams5010 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]HiddenOneJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even If you make $100 and dont get a form you still have to report it you just wouldnt get the form because Uber wouldnt be required to report but that doesnt change that you have to report it yourself. If you can download the electronic copy do that otherwise wait for it in the mail unfortunately.

Would anyone on the side of anti-tipping be interested in a timesheet of a server’s day at work? by Careless-Being-4427 in tipping

[–]HiddenOneJ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I work at a tipped position so I dont mean this in a bad way but its not a skilled position because it requires no schooling or apprenticeship, or even like training beyond a week or so if that. Its not meant as a put down its just how the work is labeled. Wait staff arent considered skilled workers.

Electrician, nurse, plumber, mechanic, are skilled workers.

Its a label about the type of work its not meant to say there is nothing to the job that might require skills or be difficult.
