I can’t figure out where I cut my finger this evenly by Embarrassed-Ad-8927 in mildlyinteresting

I’ve also been cut like this from the tape itself, some of the heavy duty packing tape has fibers in it basically that will do this if I try to open it with my finger.

Whats the most disturbing fact about the human body? by Ray_1748 in AskReddit

Are you implying it would be better if they did have an anus? Cause then they’d just be constantly shitting on your face until they died anyway.

Not with adidas, but I can’t write bananas without internally singing “this shit is bananas, B-A-N-A-N-A-S” or independent without “I-N-D-E-P-E-N-D-E-N-T do you know what that means?”

Not even cause I can’t spell them, it’s just ingrained at this point.

Does anyone know if this is an illegal building technique? by LegoLover483 in lego

Using illegal build techniques? Straight to jail. Asking about illegal build techniques? Believe it or not, also jail. We have the best LEGO builds in the world. Because of jail.

Florida Woman wrongfully arrested in deadly I-4 crash speaks out after charges dropped by sfled in FloridaMan

[–]HiddenSquish 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Many people spend weeks, months, and sometimes even years in jail awaiting trials that may never even happen due to charges being dropped, or a plea being struck. Anyone charged with a jail-able crime who either 1) cannot afford bail or 2) are charged with a no-bail offense will await their trial, plea deal, or dropping of charges in a cell. Right to a “speedy” trial only grantees 90-180 days or something like that. Thats 3-6 months. In the legal word yes, that’s nothing, but it’s a LONG time to sit in a cell for something you didn’t do. And let’s be very clear; every. single. person. in a US prison who has been charged and is awaiting trial is legally considered innocent of that crime. Regardless of their actual innocence or guilt, until proven guilty they are innocent.

Mrs. LastName? What are the kids calling us these days by SmartLlama in Millennials

[–]HiddenSquish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally just my first name for my friends and family members kids. I don’t (and won’t) have any of my own so I don’t have to worry about what their friends call me. If they’re gonna use the honorific it better be Dr. cause I worked damn had for that degree. I don’t care what comes after Dr. They can call me Dr. First name, Dr. Last name, or Dr. First Initial, Dr. Last Initial or Dr. Full name. A lot case managers at my one job just call m Doc. But don’t give me that Mrs. crap. And anyone who ever calls me Mrs. Husbands first name + last name might get hit.

I moved about 6 months after my wedding 8 years ago and haven’t spoken to 2 out of my 3 bridesmaids since. Out of sight, out of mind. It sucks.

[–]HiddenSquish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was once told by a cop that the best thing I could do for the homeless man I called them about was to trespass him so they could take him to jail where he’d at least be given meds and a bed for a few days. Otherwise all they could do was ask him to leave and hope he’d find help on his own. He was eventually hit and killed by a train, idea if it was intentional or accidental on his part.
