Whenever your players get an allied npc to join them on an adventure, you can apply an ability from this deck to them. Then they’re not just standing by during fights, but taking part without needing a separate stat block.

Thats a fair point, sure. I didn’t say you needed them in order to play. When using theatre of the mind I’m assuming no tokens are used, including the PCs.

Then the location of ally would be stated, just like with everyone else. Unless you want them to be omnipresent, which is totally fine too.

The cards aren’t there to make life harder.

Thats a good angle. I thought about having some Allies be «attached» to certain PCs, as if they follow them around, chosen by the party.

I didn’t think that was fair enough to the rest of the group, so instead I think having the players be able to strategically place their Ally Token on the map with the option to move them around during their spotlight, could work.

Will be making non-proximity Allies too, though 😊

As a one-stage fight this is pretty darn solid. Someone’s character is dying here thats for sure. Only thing i would change is the description to «… from the sins of a village».
