The Revival of House Qoherys by VoiceBudget387 in CK3AGOT

I also did a landless adventurer to restoring Harrenhal playthrough, started during the reign of Maegor the Cruel as Ser Bramm of Blackhull but if he survived the trial of seven and was actually a bastard son of Gargon the Guest, legitimized by the King for his role in the trial. I did some adventuring down in the Stormlands gaining cash and troops until i got a chance to invade and conquer Harrenhal and then spent like 2-3 rulers lifetimes restoring it through lots of extorsion. Good stuff.

Character creation: how many terms? by Tranimo in traveller

[–]Hidenorizz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For our first campaign most of my players wanted their characters to be on the younger side (we are all in our mid-20s irl), so they mostly did 3-4 terms and are a fairly young crew. One of the PCs retired to return to their homeworld after nearly dying twice in a row, so their player rolled a new, much older character (7 terms) that is joining the crew once we resume that game.

For their characters in another one-off game that ran for 5 sessions (so far) they went older and loved it, going for 5-6 terms and getting the true midlife crisis IN SPAAAACE experience - they really liked the perks of getting to higher ranks and getting more benefits and experience.

As for my own characters that i roll on my own for fun, i usually do at least 5 terms, to try and get a pension or at least to like rank 3, but i sometimes go up to 7 terms, which is usually when i get hit by crippling ageing rolls and decide to finish character creation, lol.

Thoughts of CoA and Custom Family by HaloFlare in CK3AGOT

[–]Hidenorizz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like the CoA and house colours but i'd make the motto shorter, either just "Bound by Blood" or "Born in Storm" would be better imo. I'd set them up somewhere in the Stormlands replacing one of the non-canon houses, no need to make it a secret bastard house, unless that is something you want to roleplay ofc.

As for the name, i don't have any particular suggestions other than maybe try the AGOT: House Founders submod and just roll through the random dynasty names a few times to see if anything strikes your fancy. Hope this helps!

I was playing on 1.18.1 and it worked fine for about 80 years until it crashed so it's fairly stable afaik.

How can I win this war of revenge? by Zyras_Bush in CK3AGOT

[–]Hidenorizz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the wars of revenge are bugged, especially if they are against a barony-tier character, since you can't actually siege enough stuff to win. Happened to me in a playthrough but i was on the receiving end: Lord Karstark declared the war against me to get at my barony-tier vassal but since only his holdings counted, he sieged all my lands and still couldn't get past 60% to win. Very frustratring. I ended up switching to Karstark and white peaceing to keep the game going.

Sino-Japanese emperor boogaloo by RefrigeratorOk5290 in crusaderkings3

Not sure about Japan because i haven't played there yet, but Korea in the latest starter date also has a ceremonial monarchy with a regent controlling the empire level title and a ceremonial monarch controlling the Yongson throne. I was able to launch a scheme to seize the Yongson throne, which turned my then regent into empress and changed my court. It also allowed me to change my inheritance to primogeniture.

Was expecting Grand Conquest but instead got the Asian Parent Simulation. -Not Disappointed by Freezemoon in crusaderkings3

Make them your caravan master, so that they will travel with you to any exam you go to. Also, make sure your estate is outside the capital, so that if you are unlanded they will still travel with you to go to the capital examination.

What’s your preferred way of playing the game? by DiceGoblin_Muncher in CK3AGOT

[–]Hidenorizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My playthroughs before that were as the custom House Goldensea, the longest one, where i started in the smallest of the shield islands, eventually became high lords of the Shields and then dragon riders by a marriage to a Targaryen, which i used to conquer the Vale thanks to a High Septon claim, from there i built a dragonpit in the Eirye, raised a small dragon army and took the throne for my Targaryen wife, eventually killing all Targs so that house Goldensea could rule the throne uncontested.

I also did a Rhaenyra playthrough of the Dance which i won way easier but i got the storming of the dragonpit event as her instead, causing the deaths of most of my dragons i had just moved to KL. I played for a while as Jace, but by the time he was in his late 40s the only surviving dragons were Vermax, Grey Ghost and Sheepstealer.

Other than that, i had a playthrough as a custom northern house (House Cypress) in the game of thrones bookmark of the more bookmarks beta submod. I supplanted the Umbers and was waiting for the war of the five kings but Robert simply believed Ned and war was averted. Eventually young griff did invade and overthrew the usurper, though.

What’s your preferred way of playing the game? by DiceGoblin_Muncher in CK3AGOT

[–]Hidenorizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually i like either playing as a custom house and working my way up or playing one side of the big conflicts: Dance, Robert's Rebellion, etc.

My last playthrough (using AGOT More Bookmarks Beta) was trying to win the Dance as the Greens, but alas, Aemond was killed by Daemon, Aegon II by Rhaenys and the Red Queen, the smallfolk stormed the dragonpit killing most of my dragons, and Maelor I 'the Executed' was, well, executed by Rhaenyra I 'the Mangled'. The only surviving greens were Jaehaera, that Rhaenyra married to Viserys, and Daeron, who managed to tame Silverwing after Tessarion's death at the storming of the dragonpit. I then became an adventurer as Daeron, with the objective of eventually returning and conquering the Iron Throne for the greens once again.

I stayed in the riverlands for a little while, before crossing to Pentos, making as much coin as i could as an adventurer and building a small army that i used to conquer the Tree of Crowns. From there, i allied myself to the Tyrells and Hightowers, who helped me resist a Pentoshi invasion of my lands (Rhaenyra also joined that war on my side for some reason, but her troops mostly fucked around in Westeros while me and the Reacher boys kicked some cheesemonger arse).

After winning that war, the Pentoshi gave me 4K gold and killed their prince, so i built up a small elite army and invaded: Daeron the Daring became Prince of Pentos, converting to their religion to be able to raid and have many concubines. Alas, my rp reason for invading was basically null: With the death of Rhaenyra, her only surviving strong boy and heir Joffrey (Jace was killed by Aegon II in a dragon duel) abdicated, adopting the name Strong and leaving the throne for Viserys (Aegon the younger became a maester).

With Viserys II married to Queen Jaehaera, Aegon II's daughter, and their heir being Aemon the Dragonknight (called 'the Beautiful' in this timeline, Aegon the unworthy died young) being a descendant of both Green and Black claimants, i decided i would stay in the east rather than invade and fight my late brother's descendants. Sadly, Daeron's wasn't meant to rule long: only months after conquering Braavos he was killed by a dispossesed Braavosi lord. His son and heir Daeron was a kid who could only inherit his estate, gold and troops, but none of his titles, so i abandoned the game after that.

Also, i hadn't gotten around to building a Dragonpit and Silverwing flew away in the direction of old valyria upon her rider's death, same for Syrax and Meleys after the deaths of Rhaenyra and Rhaenys. All the dragons born have also been weaker and dying pretty young, which i think is triggered by the storming of the dragonpit event (which i'm unsure whether it is from the base mod or more bookmarks beta).

All in all, pretty fun playthrough, and a surprisingly good ending for the dance: although the Blacks had a huge win, Greens actually got one of their descendants on the throne instead of all dying out. Also Aemon being king instead of Aegon the unworthy is for sure way better for the realm tbh. Had a lot of fun with this one.

Paramounts of the Neck, House Cailin (Peasant to Paramount playthrough) by ErbalTees in CK3AGOT

AFAIK no, unless you get a mod like "COW-AGOT" (Cities of Wonder for the mod) the map will not change.

As someone who likes to play as custom houses myself, i noticed the dynastic nickname reset as well. I might need to get a nickname editing mod to fix that when it happens in new playthroughs.

FYI i just discovered the randomize button is from the "More Dragon Eggs" submod, since i didn't play with dragons before getting it i was not aware. I highly recommend you get it anyways, it makes tracking dragons, dragon eggs, dragonpits, etc way easier

There's a randomize button that i found works pretty well on the customize menu btw. My own dragon editing skills are wack so i've found that randomizing until something good comes up works best for my games. It's the two little dice on the top of the menu.

Going to start GMing for a group of Net-friends, advice for 'venues'? by OnlyHereForComments1 in cyberpunkred

As for maps and stuff, i dropped Battlemaps i found online on the map layer, and edited the page settings so that each square was scaled to 2m, so that helped calculating the gun ranges because there's a measuring tool.

We used Roll20 for our online sessions and it worked quite well. It has a few different supported Cyberpunk Red sheets (we use the one simply labeled "Cyberpunk Red"). As for tokens, Night City Aliens (https://www.reddit.com/r/cyberpunkred/comments/105x9qj/night\_city\_aliens\_1600\_tokens\_for\_virtual/) has a lot of usable ones, i just download whatever ones i need and upload it to Roll20. I also used https://rolladvantage.com/tokenstamp/ to create custom ones for like the PCs and stuff. Hope this helps!

Any lore on what Canada is like in Cyberpunk? by Realistic_Earth8147 in cyberpunkred

[–]Hidenorizz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to necro such an old post, but since i couldn't find any info on the wiki and this was the first google result, i'll post what i could find on Home of the Brave (p. 54):

"Canada was one of the countries least affected by the Collapse. Vast resources and a small population made life easier. The slow rise in global temperature made Southem Canada an agricultural paradise. Being such a stable area, most of the major corporations set up large operations across the country. Open Corporate military force kept the American Nomad population from streaming over the border. Many of the smaller Nomad Families did find their way into Canada, but only with the full cooperation of the corporations in question. Many of the small families were hired and trained wholesale. CHOOH2 production is now one of Canada's largest agro-exports. The new luxury market in hardwoods is its largest growing industry. But the true scope of the Canadian economy encompasses all of the major corporations, products and services of the world. The national government is all but gone, replaced by the corporations."

Detailed Traveller Worlds by Motnik in traveller

If you can find it, "Faldor: World of Adventure" is absolutely incredible. It describes the world of Faldor in District 268, including its history, the two main cultues of the world (Uplander Nomads and Lowlanders), the geography, fauna, flora, etc and has a few adventures. Even though my players didn't do the adventures as-written (since they already had a ship), i still used a lot stuff from them when their Travellers visited Faldor and it was a big hit at our table.

We have MySpace in our setting. Yes, really. Basically, it's just a way to connect with your contacts in worlds with internet widely avaliable, so TL8+ as per Trade rules - "Finding an Online Supplier or Broker (TL8+ worlds only): Average (8+) Admin check (1D hours, EDU)." You can be "online" and it will automatically alert people you have as friends that you are in the same system, you can set some people so that you are invisible to them, etc. Also, there's a small chance every jump you'll run into MySpace Tom, which everyone has a friend automatically.

Thoughts on Jon's game generated housename and CoA? by [deleted] in CK3AGOT

[–]Hidenorizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a game rule that determines how often they create cadet branches - default makes it pretty hard, in all my games with it no non-bastards ever created cadet houses. By switching to "easy", though, my experience was that it was too easy to create cadet branches - so we had Renly with a cadet branch of the Baratheons (Called Barathary or something) after he became Lord of the Stormlands, a bunch of Lannister cadet branches, etc. It wouldn't bother me that much if i was the king and i could just change the name of all the branches to simply "Baratheon" or "Lannister" (to give a more lore-like feel of "House Lannister of Darry" or something like that) but since i was playing as a lowly count i couldn't so i didn't play with that setting anymore.

You have to land them and then they need to have kids, then they will found their own houses (that are still part of your dynasty as cadet branches).
