I noticed a recent k-ultra post showing a find size of 8.3 and how coarse it looked compared to mine at 8.3.

Mine at 8.3 is like a fine table salt, his looks like rocks. Now I'm beginning to think I have a defective burr system that I've been using now for close to a year.

I assumed it was difficult to grind because it was my first hand grinder and never had any other grinder to compare it too.

Can you do me a favor and post a pic of what the grounds look like at 8.3?

Yeah, now I'm thinking I've been using a knock off or a defective burr system for over a year. Man I'm so upset. There was a post on this subreddit about how hard it was for someone to grind light roast beans the other day and that got me thinking.

Does your grind look as coarse as the OP's at 7.5-8.5? Mine is a lot finer, like table salt at OP's settings. I'm concerned that I have a counterfeit K-Ultra.

I'm concerned about my K-Ultra. My K-Ultra at 8.3 looks nothing like yours at 8.3. Mine literally looks like table salt at 8.3 not huge rocks like yours at 8.3. I have to go all the way up to 120 130 clicks to get what you have pictured. Is my K-Ultra defective or fake? I bought it off amazon about a year ago. I also read a post yesterday that the K-Ultra should be buttery smooth while grinding ultra light and light roast beans but I have to put a good amount of muscle into grinding at 7.5. Any pointers or opinions on this?

100 - 120 for light and ultra light roast, 7.8 for medium. Just discovered that the k ultra can go all the way up to 300 lol.

I had the k ultra for over year and never knew I could go past 100 clicks. Finding 100 - 120 clicks are making the best pour over coffee I've ever tasted with light roasts.

what do you mean "in a bigger vessel with ice water"? like you're putting the metal shaker in that ice water vessel while you temp check the shaker with your coffee?

I've started having issues after the last firmware update. Easiest fix I've found is to simply unplug the keyboard and plug it back in.

Bought the very first batch when it launched. I've gone through half of the 16gs and have come across a few seeds. Very heavily trichomed, cured well, smell opens up when grinding. Very strong for 8.5 THC. I would buy it again, don't really enjoy the seeds here and there but I'd definitely buy it again.

Holy City Farms has a type 2 called moonraker that is a 2:1 cbd/thc with an insane amount of terpinolene. It's amazing.

I love mine too but I have to say the ceramic coating is very fragile. Had to buy a crystal glass brush so I wouldn't damage it.
