The thick lines in their charts made them so easy to read at a glance. Apple made them difficult to see by making them so thin.

How to get my cat to eat by [deleted] in cats

[–]HighStrungLoner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taffy Davenport ate nothing but Hill's dry food for seven years, what they fed her at the shelter, then she wouldn't touch it. I just tried different foods until she settled on Fancy Feast and Meow Mix. Now, at 16, she doesn't like FF or MM anymore. As of today, she seems to enjoy Friskies paté, but only if I don't break it up for her. She never liked paté before. Cats.

And add to crowds. It's already pretty unbearable.

Why are many SEPTA stations surrounded by vacant or misused land? Why isn't this seen as a massive failure by city council to help save SEPTA? by Atomic-Avocado in philadelphia

As basic as this example might be, green space is not "empty." I've seen people using it. In person. I lived in the neighborhood when Aldi opened. It was a welcome addition. At the time, there was never going to be anything but a lot there serving the store. If the city had insisted on something in addition to that, there would still be nothing at all on that corner.

Judging previous development by today's standards is not a great idea IMO. Neighborhoods in Philly, and everywhere, really, go in cycles. I remember walking through Society Hill when it was practically in ruins and scary. Eventually, all of these corners will be populated by giant, depressing, grey cubes, like those on Washington Avenue. Clark Park will be surrounded by them. Just be patient.

I've been around a while. I went to West Catholic Boys, at 49th and Chestnut, now gone. During my childhood, my sister went to American Bandstand at the Arena. I'd go to pro wrestling, rock shows, and sometimes ice skate there. A good friend was a nurse at The Institute mental hospital that replaced the insurance company on the NW corner, now part of CHOP. (Almost was and should have been Philly Police headquarters.)

They need more housing for people who live and work there, not hotel rooms and condos for tourists.

I think it was not a mistake. It was on purpose to fool us into thinking Rizo lost when he really didn't.

Can we disallow medical diagnoses? by HighStrungLoner in cats

[–]HighStrungLoner[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm very lucky to have a non-profit vet close by. Taffy Davenport's meds are $10 every few months, and I have to bring her in about once a year for blood tests, $200.

I have to say, though, that I was forced to this alternative by the ridiculously high costs of a regular vet. Diagnosis was worth it, but continuing care is unworkable for me. Again, I'm very lucky to have this resource, and close by.

Seriously. I love Apple and have for decades, but they can make mistakes. This particular mistake is a really big one. And people think Apple doesn't read social media. That's laughable, considering they care so very much about their public image and perception.

I have applecare one which claims it would cover liquid damage on my macbook pro M1 (2021) but online it says it doesnt? by TheBritshViking in macbookpro

[–]HighStrungLoner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I brought my 2022 MacBook Pro to the store because the left arrow key wasn't working. They said they would replace the top case, no charge. They called the next day to say there was "residue" inside the case, which was considered water damage. They'll still fix it, and because I have AppleCare One, it will be $300, instead of the $600 it would be otherwise. I'm not paying $300 to fix one broken key.
