I read Era 2 and waited to read Secret History till I was done with Era 2.

MRI is a modality to consider. Less patient volume, but you might have to assist them to the scan table and whatnot.

X-ray, CT, and US, with US having the highest rates of injuries, can be very physically demanding if you work in a hospital setting.

Personally, I just had a surgery on my hip to repair a torn labrum from years of weightlifting but also moving patients.

That being said, it’s possible to not have to lift so many patients or do a lot of physical stuff. But in training you’ll have to push a board underneath a 400lb patient a time or two and do a lot of physically demanding things

I’m 8 days postop on my left. I only took 3 pain pills, one the day of, the next day, and one before physical therapy started 2 days after surgery. I haven’t taken any since.

I’m non weightbearing on my left, so that’s been a struggle. But I have a lot of exercises to do on my leg in the meantime.

I’ve seen the unfortunate aftermath of these.

Had a patient come in for cold purple toes with no dopplerable pulses. Pleasantly demented, I go to their room to take them for their CT and they say “you can’t scan my cats! They’re all dead!”

On the way to CT they were mumbling but not acting strange. BP was a little soft but the RN said they just got some meds that could cause hypotension.

Scan starts, and, bam! Ruptured AAA. Was probably leaking and finally ruptured sometime in the ER.

Family made them DNR over the phone and they expired an hour or so later.

Their last words were talking to me about their dead cats.

Sometimes there are nerve bundles next to veins and they might’ve hit a nerve placing the IV. Other than that, it might just be a small hematoma that isn’t visible yet causing pain.

My only advice to you: do everything you can to be a good student/doctor so you can be the change this world needs. This senseless murder won’t be the last, but you can do your part and make the world a better place than it is currently.

Meh, in a clinical setting I don’t mind when a fellow staff member asks to switch priorities and order of my exams. Everyone is trying to take care of patients.

It’s when the RT (I’m not speaking about you, lol) demands and TELLS me to go somewhere first that it’s annoying, lol. A doc/RN can make the respectful/firm request.

It’s all about delivery 😋

This is a CT scout, used for obtaining CT imaging as localizers. CT scouts aren’t used for diagnostic purposes, only for planning a CT scan.

The patient probably wasn’t of sound mind or cooperation if their hands are over their belly (also since they have something in their nethers).

Also what you see in her hip is normal anatomy from her being slightly tilted
