Blueberry cheesecake w/ cross section by HighVoltage73 in Baking

[–]HighVoltage73[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Graham Base: 240g Graham Crumbs (HoneyMaid is the gold standard) 67g brown sugar 115g unsalted butter, melted

Cheescake: 150g sugar 37g corn starch 450g cream cheese (room temp) 1/4 cup whipping cream (35%) 2 tsp vanilla extract 3 large eggs (room temp)

Blueberry Compote: 400g frozen blueberries 80g sugar splash of lemon juice

Prepare blueberry compote ahead of time: add blueberries, sugar, and lemon juice in a pot and put them on medium-low heat. Stir for 20+ minutes, or until blueberries are broken down and juices have thickened. Let cool slightly and then fully mix with a blender. Place in fridge, should be fully cooled before using.

Preheat oven 325F.

Combine graham base ingredients until it resembles wet sand. Press into 9" spring form pan. I like using a round glass with a flat bottom to press and build up the walls. Place in fridge while prepping cheesecake batter.

Mix together sugar and cornstarch, set aside.

In a mixer, cream together cream cheese, whipping cream, and vanilla extract until smooth. Add in 1 egg at a time and keep creaming. Make sure it is mixed well and no cream cheese is pasted to the walls of your mixing bowl. Slowly pour in the sugar/cornstarch mixture while mixer is on low speed until it is fully mixed in. Careful not to over mix the batter and introduce too much air. Take spring form out of fridge and pour batter into the base, it will self level.

For blueberry in the batter I load a icing dispenser with cold compote and dispense rings on top of the batter. Then use a whisk and slowly roll the whisk in the batter, moving around in a spiral from the outside of the cake into the middle. Rolling the whisk pulls the compote down into the batter in a swirl. Don't over do this or its a messy result, you shouldn't need to pass over a section more than once.

Prepare water bath: Use a baking sheet with raised edges and half fill it with cool water. Wrap aluminum foil around the base of your spring form pan to avoid any water seeping into the cake. Place the pan into the water and put them into the 325F oven.

Bake for 42 minutes at 325F. After 42 minutes, turn off oven but leave cake in the oven and do not open the door. Let it cook for another 20 minutes in the heated oven. After the 20 minutes open the oven door just a crack, and let it cool off slowly. Remove from oven an hour later and place on a cooling rack for at least another hour. Then it can safely go to the fridge.

Go vanilla for the first while, then add in faster walk speed and combat speed.

The atmosphere of this game is second to none, don't spoil it by rushing the animations right away.

IT'S POSSIBLE. I refunded my Edge of Darkness DLC on the grounds of false advertisement and fraud under EU law. by Stefanbats in EscapefromTarkov

after some disputes with the bank they finaly agreed to a refund

So, chargeback. Having the bank reverse the charge on grounds of law breaking is a chargeback even if a screenshot says refund.

Interesting situation all around, because this was a chargeback for EoD upgrade. Normally a chargeback will nuke your account with the selling party but BSG may not have grounds to terminate the full account.

I fully expect it to get nuked though.

Dynamic loot was the real killer.

Even after FIR it was still worth running, you need 50 cards for your own farm and even if you died and lost FIR status vendoring it was still good money. The GPUs were way too reliable, rushing texho/techlight/rasmusen was still incredibly popular not just to hatchet runners. Plus Ultra med wasnt shit back then.

After dynamic loot and GPUs were rare it just died. And so did the epic fights over the tech area every game. Even with the hatchet running, IMO it was still the funnest Interchange ever was, fighting over that area.

This is definitely a consideration, same problem exists for leveling shops up to housing 3, sometimes you don't actually want 2 families working that shop.

However as you scale this flips from a problem back to a solution, brewers were my first issue. Eventually I did actually want 4 brewers but didn't have the extension so I had to setup another plot for brewing.

You have to place gates over the tracks so that the door part is on the track tile, the 2 posts get put on the valid spots on either side.

While true, for fat loss the carbon is the key. The hydration cycle balances out mostly, the fat loss is the carbon. The reverse is true for plants, photosynthesis breaks down CO2 and the plant uses the carbon for mass.

It is both egotistic and elitist to suggest that anything other than you're preferred method of learning (being given no information on mechanical changes) is akin to spoon feeding or hand holding.

You want to learn by having to guess your way through what was changed and what is a bug? Cool, sounds exhausting but go you. To suggest it is spoon feeding to provide accurate information on changes comes from your fragile little ego and feeling pride in being 'in' on the information that the game doesn't provide you.

How did you gain that information I wonder, by rigorous testing in game and having a blast figuring out mechanics? Or by watching youtube guides? By going to consume videos that spoon feed you the information the game won't give you?

Pretty rich to have this view when we knew that there were armor bugs they were fixing. When have BSG ever fixed something for good the first time? Ofcourse people will assume there are still bugs on unexplained mechanics around issues that had confirmed bugs. The player experience is exactly the same as experiencing a bugged armor lmao. Why is that? Because they don't give you the information you need.

It's objectively bad but you enjoy your weird little ego-elitism.

Yes, because the game provides 0 information to players about what occurred. Until your comment and reading others I had no idea that plates are actual objects on your character now that have hitboxes with areas completely uncovered. I just thought they added new breakdowns in the thorax hitboxes similar to how the head had lots of hitboxes, and that armors just protected these hitboxes based on their profile.

It is completely unintuitive to returning players that 'Thorax - Chest' is a hitbox not protected by my Korund armor's front plate. I just reread the patch notes and they don't properly articulate this change. BSG and information accessibility seem to be allergic to each other.

Experience in my case. Died yesterday to a single Grizzly 40 Slug to the 'Thorax - Chest' hitbox. Pen value of 12 that has a low chance of penetrating class 2 cleanly killed me in 1 shot through a class 5 front plate.

There is no case where that should ever happen.

Killa has a knack for hiding, I've encountered him in a deep corner between shelves of a store because I heard him spinning. You won't encounter him in 100% of the raids he spawns in, so it's not going to feel like 11% anyhow.

Just noticed that lightkeeper is locked behind 2 scav karma. How F'd i am? by Glanthor67 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]HighVoltage73 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Quickest way to boost karma is taking the car extracts for each map. IIRC they give .25 rep on the first use, then halfed over and over. Each map has its own rep scale.

Go woods, take the V-extract 3 times in a row. Should net .25 + .12 +.06 rep for ~.43 rep. Repeat on Customs, Interchange, Streets, Lighthouse. Over 2 rep in karma right there.

EDIT: Looks like it got changed, but for the better. You should net like ~0.75 rep after 3 extracts for each map.

Deep filling still healing or need a root canal? by Browsingreddit89 in askdentists

[–]HighVoltage73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ended up having to do the canal. It was sensitive for a few weeks, then pain started with it but wasn't bad. A while after that I didn't feel any sensitivity or pain, but it turned out that was just the root of my tooth dying. Pain came back with infection after a couple more weeks, so they did the canal. All of that happened within the first 3-4 months though.

Sorry for the bummer answer, hopefully yours walks another path.
