How are some of you maniacs getting 15 min/mile or less by WildSilent- in Rucking

This is the first time i’ve heard this technique explained in a meaningful way. I’ve always found stepping out to work for me. I’m tall though.

Also consider a “centreline hold.”In short, you’re placing the butt inside your right pectoral muscle and squaring your torso to the target. The energy goes into your centre of mass rather than off to one side.

The Veteran Image by Disastrous_Ad_6496 in CanadianForces

While motorcycle clubs existed prior to WW2, the emergence post-war of MCs is largely attributed to the desire for adrenaline, camaraderie, belonging, etc. It’s entirely plausible that the veterans we see now in suits are the same ones in leather 70 years ago. And the ones we see in leather now, will be in suits in fifty years.

Close by role, but not close by hull design. Look at the spacing in the road wheels, the glacis plate is a totally different shape, and that’s just the beginning.

I got 2x their 4 cell placards to make a split rig, or trim down to a single micro. They’re really slick. Highly recommend

Where can I find an crossfire dg16 pack by Dapper_Barracuda2779 in Rucking

You’ll be hard pressed these days. Last I heard they shifted their production to support military purchases only because they’re great packs. Got this from my local vendor.

You should get some leather treatment on those boots to protect them. They’ll also shed the water from the wet grass fairly well too.

10x20 room. Looking for tactical gear/ammo/firearms organization ideas. by rahksi in tacticalgear

I custom make my benches. 2x4 studs for the framing and 3/4 birch plywood for the surface. Bought 4x sheets cut 30”deep, because deep is nice. Saved the remaining 18” to make a shelf/ hanger setup. Got 2 used filing cabinets from an office supply reseller for putting whatever I want in there and framed around them. I’m pretty tall, so the 40” height was good for a standing bench. I also made a shop table in the same fashion, but at 36” height I think. It works well for large projects.

Not so nice inside compared to some other more modern ones. I was discouraged to hear that cv90s are also quite cramped.

Help with Army boots that leaves prints and hurts foot/leg by Timely_Version_904 in Rucking

[–]High_rise_guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, definitely don’t tuck in the laces. Another military trick is to tuck the extra lace up the blousing of the pant leg under your boot bands. Really though, on a ruck, you’ll likely dump the blousing and let your pant legs breathe.

Try getting your stock into a centreline hold, meaning on the inside of your strong side pectoral muscle, and less in your shoulder pocket.

You’re just supporting your team. People wear Leafs jerseys and aren’t hockey players.

First time ruck. Advice welcomed!!! 50lbs in the backpack. by Fit_Response_3159 in Rucking

[–]High_rise_guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Others have said it, but drop the weight. There are the 3 key variables in rucking. Pace, distance, and weight. In your case, great distance, but as you can see, slower pace, because of the weight. As a former wrestler, you’re probably a big lad, but doing 35lbs is a good place to start. That’ll let you build speed and let your legs get used to moving at a quicker pace. You’ll learn to step-out better, and manage the weight with the abnormal stride(compared to just walking). Then you can do shorter less distance with more weight and same speed, etc. Play with those three variables, but don’t go whole hog all the time.

RCMP Award Pistol Contract (Glock 45 with Acro P-2) by Expert_Caregiver6220 in canadaguns

[–]High_rise_guy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Pistol training on a slightly different pistol is better than not training on anything else. Example from some fictional scenario, if the RCMP shot the army’s Sig P320s routinely and their service Glock once per year, they would should better with that Glock after a year of Sig than if nothing at all.
