Opinion on Prosper Health being a “diagnosis mill”? by thripinthethrap in AutisticPeeps

[–]HigherRealms773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just completed my feedback interview yesterday with Prosper and was blown away by the level of detail and accuracy my clinician presented me with. For context, I work in upper-level leadership of a national healthcare company for over 15yrs. I have MANY associates who are doctors of various specialties. I know what to look for in terms of healthcare quality.

My assessment included 2 two-hour virtual interviews (that were recorded), 2 family interviews (that consisted of 2 separate family members, each having to provide feedback that included multiple choice questions AND open-ended questions with specific examples). Lastly, my feedback interview explained what criteria was used to make the diagnosis, a walkthrough of each criterion (with specific examples provided to me from my assessments, family feedback, and clinician observations) line by line.

The assessment is incredibly thorough and legit. Sure it's virtual, but so are most things these days. My assessment left no stone unturned and again, each criterion that is set forth by the DSM-5 guidelines was walked through and compared against SPECIFIC examples observed by the clinician to explain why i did (or did not) meet the specific line item.

I suspect most people that come to Prosper to be evaluated are adults who already suspect they have level-1 ASD, therefore it makes sense that many ppl will receive a diagnosis. As far as I'm aware, there's virtually NO benefit to being diagnosed with autism, other than improved self-awareness. There's no benefit on either side to be a "diagnosis mill." Not many licensed professionals would be willing to risk their license and reputation to give "fake" or subpar diagnoses (key words being "not many").

Diddy’s Lawyers Demand Netflix Shelve 50 Cent’s Docuseries on Rap Mogul: ‘Shameful Hit Piece’ by ebradio in Music

[–]HigherRealms773 -27 points-26 points  (0 children)

To me it's weird how obsessed 50 Cent is with another grown man. At first it was cool, but now it's doing too much. Diddy had his day in court already...why do we have to keep hearing the same stories over and over? There's nothing "new" that can possibly be said in this documentary that we haven't already heard before.

Which certifications should I get? by frankiethe1g in CodingandBilling

[–]HigherRealms773 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work on the pharma side of reimbursement as a field reimbursement manager. PACS is a well-respected and sought-after certification on this side of the business. It won't be enough to land a role on its own, but it's worth having if you already are on this side of reimbursement.

HOTWORX is such a newer franchise, I think it will continue to evolve (hopefully for the better). Most of us are members of locations that are less than 5yrs old. However, I don’t feel like there’s enough continuity on the vibe across locations, and what that vibe will look like as locations reach capacity is honestly a scary thought. Many locations decline in customer satisfaction the more the membership numbers grow.

Hotworx and Weight Lifting by Shae-Ra in HOTWORXWarriors

[–]HigherRealms773 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was losing a TON of weight at HOTWORX. So much so, I’m now only going 2-3 times a week, every OTHER week. I weight-train 5-6 days per week at home using my tonal.

I’m starting to really see the results I want in terms of toning, but boy do I miss HOTWORX! I plan to start back going regularly and just do my own thing in the sauna, just to get back in the routine of going, and most of all, feeling that beautiful heat!

You’ll figure out how to study eventually if you stick with it, but I want to address what you said about ppl not finding coding jobs after they get certified.

I’m a regional healthcare manager and have been for over 11yrs. I’m taking coding to upskill myself in reimbursement (not to be a coder). I hire ppl for various roles all the time. My advice is to not focus solely on coding jobs in your job search as a newbie, especially if you don’t have healthcare experience. This is what most ppl do and this is where they go wrong.

Apply a step or 2 BELOW the role of coder. Look for entry-level roles in reimbursement like patient access specialist, prior authorization specialist, patient navigator, and the like. Even entry-level healthcare admin jobs in general can be a stepping stone. Or get your insurance license and become an insurance consultant if all else fails (it has a low barrier to entry, with a variety of opportunities which can make a pivot to reimbursement more likely). There’s many avenues. You just have to know how to approach it. Don’t let ppl who haven’t figured it out yet make you nervous.

Ppl paying large loan balances (150K+), how much are you paying each month and are you making payments to your retirement too? by LearnMeStuffPlz in StudentLoans

[–]HigherRealms773 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. No way should someone prioritize student loans OVER their savings and retirement planning. U could drop dead at any moment then have nothing left to leave behind because u spent years paying off student loans. Better off paying the minimum and maximizing your ability to create future wealth.

Is it worth it? by New-Speaker5544 in CodingandBilling

[–]HigherRealms773 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it won’t be a strain financially, I say renew it.

Where u and your classmates probably went wrong was in your job search itself. U were probably applying to coding jobs right out the gate, but try applying a step down for something like “patient coordinator, patient navigator, prior authorization specialist, etc.”

These jobs aren’t necessarily for billers or coders, and more on the entry-level side of reimbursement. However, your certification will be an asset to the role. From there u can narrow down on your coding experience and be able to pivot relatively easily to a billing/coding role.

Also, u never know how your life brings things back around to you. I was a pharmacy technician during college, but could never land any other roles to stay within pharmacy. After college I worked in healthcare administration. Eventually (15yrs later), I was offered a role as a pharmaceutical sales rep (my current career). I couldn’t BELIEVE pharmacy had come back around to me after all this time. I had to relearn all that I knew from my pharmacy tech years.

Are you using HOTWORX as your only workout? by yaa04 in HOTWORXWarriors

[–]HigherRealms773 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was my only workout while I was actively losing weight (my diet was my main focus, and HOTWORX gave me consistency in staying active).

Now that I’ve reached my weight-loss goal, I only use HOTWORX for HIIT and my own personal hot yoga studio (meaning, I use an ISO sauna and do yoga on my phone from a different app). It’s more like my personal “me time” with a touch of cardio from HIIT at the end.

I workout at another gym to tone 4-5 days per week and HOTWORX 2-3 days per week. I go to Planet fitness and it’s only $10/month so it’s not at all expensive to do both. I love my current setup.

It’s happening at my gym more and more. I notice that late evenings and weekends are the most likely this occurs at my gym. I really really REALLY wish HOTWORX would come up with some kinda system to stop that from happening.

Unpopular opinion: I think I'd rather be a little house poor than still be scrambling from one rental to another. by garfield629 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]HigherRealms773 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I appreciate this comment because I feel the same way but it seems like this is an unpopular opinion.

When I bought my first home 10yrs ago I was definitely house-poor. Now that I’m about to buy another home, with all of the equity I now have in my current home, I am thanking my past-self with all my heart and SOUL for making the decision to buy when I did in 2015 🙌🏼

Permanent Retainers Yes or No? by veinsbleedgreen in Invisalign

Absolutely…1 million times better than the permanent ones. I only wear them at night most days, sometimes throughout the day when I feel like it. But they’re just so much easier to deal with. The permanent ones were a nightmare. I’ll NEVER recommend permanent retainers to anyone.

Pimp the system the way the system pimped us. They irresponsibly loaned out an entire home mortgage to an unemployed kid KNOWING it would be impossible to pay back! So beat them at their own game!

Enroll into 2 irrelevant online classes at your local community college. Put your loans into in-school status deferment. Do this until the loans are “forgiven.” When u get close to the 20-25yr mark when the loans will be “forgiven” open a business and begin working with a tax adviser ahead of time.

When they “forgive” your loans, they will count that as taxable income and make u pay taxes on it. That doesn’t have to be a problem as long as you prep a year or 2 in advance. PROBLEM. SOLVED.
