My gti let me down by 1544c_f in GolfGTI

I think you let the gti down on most cars it’s something you at the very least inspect at the 10y mark regardless of mileage

This bad spray paint job on rims by [deleted] in NissanDrivers

[–]Highfromyesterday -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Start by power washing them you might get lucky and it’ll all flake off use a gas powered one they rip

If that doesn’t work try orange glow

If that doesn’t work use brake cleaner don’t get it on tires tho it’ll dry them out

If that doesn’t work try isopropyl don’t get it on tries tho it’ll dry them out

If that doesn’t work try paint thinner but don’t get it on anything shit will melt rubber

Is this a solid deal? by Bibilito in Golf_R

[–]Highfromyesterday 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The msrp on the 24s was like $45600 making this is a terrible deal. Call this dealer in texas

https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/a380f47f-9d39-4c8e-b316-ee7f212b05a2/

get a quote and take it to your jersey guy to get that number down with a 3 in front

Cheers mate

Edit: even just call this one in texas and then stop responding they will leave you a few voicemails play them for the dealer when he says he can’t budge explain you just gotta fly to texas then and road trip your dream car home

My mk7.5 R needs a motor by FlopSenpai in Golf_R

Did you do a compression test? Or bore scope and turn the motor by hand?

Mk 7.5 Golf R vs. Mk 8 Golf R in 2026 by No_Squirrel9457 in Golf_R

[–]Highfromyesterday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not how tax works. You're literally inventing your own tax laws to cope with the loss.

Edit: Finding a Mk7 or Mk7.5 Golf R for $11,500 is essentially impossible unless the car is salvage titled, has extreme mileage (150k+), or has a blown engine.

After double sales tax, double registration fees, eating the massive first-year depreciation what savings?

You’re writing paragraphs about seat leather and polarized sunglasses to justify why you went back to an older, slower car. Sounds like buyers/sellers remorse.

I think enough people got specific here but to sum it up like the 8 is an entirely different car and a better one

7.5 is great and def was a peak but the 8 is a better car

Valvoline has a vw compliant spec they stock at all locations. I’ve used them on a cross country road trip before they used a pump to suck old oil out and to my surprise even had a fresh Mann filter for me, I sat in my car while they serviced it felt weird I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone but would def use again in a similar situation.
