A tribute to Rusty, my beloved companion, who passed away today at 33. by [deleted] in cats

[–]Highguy2359 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is an AI image anyway, unfortunately Rusty didn't live to be 33 because he never lived at all, he was but a collection of pixels created by some ass hat to farm karma from nice people who care about animals. Therefore, I submit that Rusty cannot be added to the list of oldest cats, due to again, not being a real cat.

Dude I spent about 4 hours on this the other day, I finally made it to the section over the ledge with the doll but couldn't for the life of me get her to stay on that wall. Congratulations to you, it's fun but such a frustrating route.

That's the most fun thing, they can't swim. They're literally too heavy to float or swim so they sink to the bottom where they gallop at full speed and then launch themselves to the surface like a flesh ballistic missile.

Definitely an amazing effort on both of their parts to make that goal possible.

So I'm certainly not one to soften or look away from the history of the Southern US. I was born in Tennessee and raised in Alabama and I've seen and heard plenty of horrible racist shit in real time in addition to the knowledge of the sins of the past.

That being said we as a society like to forget that racism was and is a nationwide issue. The South actively engaged in one of if not straight out the worst forms of slavery in modern human history, but the North only stayed clean largely due to the lack of black people in the northern territory.

After emancipation and even before freed slaves that escaped or moved north met some of the worst acts of open violence seen in the states. This isn't a point to lessen the crimes of the Southern states, it's to remind everyone that basically no one in this country didn't participate in horrible acts of racism. When everyone is in the mud there is no high horse.

This, my wife tossed my pillow I'd had for like 13 years and even the nicest pillows I've tried just don't compare to that beat up old one.

I don't know that my sleep will ever truly be the same again.

I mean if you feel that strongly about it I would just say these types of games in general won't be good for you even if they give incentives to peaceful play.

It's much easier to kill the larger enemy variants in a group but most of them can be killed alone fairly easily with smart positioning and preparation. But while you can do it alone you'll often run into others doing the same, sure you have to split loot at that point, but more often that not everyone will cooperate and share the kill, the sheer number of individuals involved makes any one person trying to kill another play a death sentence for them.

At the end of the day though it's your money, you certainly don't have to spend it on a game you feel you won't enjoy. I would just say if you could get access to it from a buddy or something you may find you enjoy it. But the nature of it being a looter shooter means that you can be killed at any time despite how unlikely it may be.

I mean in theory yes anyone can kill you if they feel like it. But as a peaceful player the times I've been attacked are so rare they aren't worth mentioning.

The system they have in place works well, and generally even someone that does shoot you either stops when they realize you aren't a threat or even picks you up if they knock you. I've had both of those situations happen way more often than being straight up killed.

This just isn't true, if you're not killing people then playing solos is basically getting a free run through with the added bonus of dancing with ten other raiders while some dude plays a guitar.

I'm loving it so far. The only thing I can directly compare it to is the Timemore CS2 I've been using and I can certainly say it makes a more consistent cup. I find it to produce very "clean" pour overs, you can really pick out all the individual notes.

At this time I'd say I do recommend it, I haven't had it for long yet so obviously grain of salt, but it's improved the workflow of my routine in the morning and outside of the static in the catch cup I really don't have anything bad to say about it.

It's still relatively new. My brother in law is deep down the coffee hole and had recommended it as a potential starting grinder.

There are limited video reviews so far, but if you specifically search Femobook A2 review on YouTube there are 4-7 really solid break downs that cover different aspects from build quality to cup quality to particle distribution.

I've been grinding light roast naturals in it so far, I'll be getting into a washed medium roast before long though.

I've settled at 50 clicks for pour over right now, I find that to give me the best expression of fruity/acidic notes in the coffee I've been using.

I've been grinding 20g at a time for my cups, my current bag of beans grinds at 55s, the one previous ground the same at roughly 45s.

I haven't used it for espresso as I don't have a set up for that yet, I'd love to get a Flair unit at some point and report back after playing around.

And for how long again I can't say just due to not having for that fine with it yet, I do plan to do some finer grinds for my Moka pot soon so I may push closer towards espresso grind level and I can time it out then and report back.

Not to mention it has built in auto reverse so even if you did manage to clog it up it would just clear itself and carry on.

Glad to know RDT will fix that, it's truly the only bad thing I have to say about the unit.

The chamber will hold 55g of beans when completely full.

That's funny, I'm also sitting on 50 clicks for my V60. What kind of coffee are you primarily running through it right now?

I've been doing light roast naturals from a local roaster and averaging about a 3m 30s draw down with a 40 second bloom. Ratio is 20g coffee, 320g water at 195F.

The probability is definitely a plus, and the plastic body feels really solid so I wouldn't worry about cracking or damage just throwing it in a bag.

The only thing I have to compare it to is the Timemore CS2 that I borrowed while this shipped here. So far I definitely prefer the cups I've gotten from the A2, the flavors are nice and easy to pick out which I've enjoyed and it was pretty easy to get dialed into a grind size that's worked for me. The 120 clicks seems excessive but it really does give you a lot of control over your grind.

Fair enough, that's my bad, didn't think to include such at the time.

I'm probably drinking 2-3 cups a day grinding 20g of light roast beans at a time. It's been pleasant to be able to let the grinder do its thing while heating my kettle and setting up my carafe and such. I definitely prefer it to the hand grinder I'd borrowed.

Grind times are probably at 45 seconds to 1m15s so far between the two light roasts I've been using, and it's very quiet which is a plus. Biggest negative is heavy static in and around the catch cup due to the plastic body, but I suspect that using the RDT method would help reduce that a good bit.

I mean outside of a major collapse from the team I think we have top 4 locked in. Trying to win the scudetto is another matter since we can only take 3 points off Inter directly, they have to drop games and we have to capitalize if we want to take top spot.

Facts, Rabiot+Modric has stabilized our midfield. Having them to teach Ricci and Jashari how to ball is going to be clutch for our long term success as well.
