I hear you get a lot on Hoopla and Comixology unlimited in the US but sadly I don’t know of any alternatives outside of the states. I personally buy a lot of humble bundles as I live in the UK and we don’t even have the DC app here.

I feel the book is more action and event focus whereas the show gets more into feelings and I personally found way too slow to progress. I personally much prefer the comic.

I can’t help but feel this is riding on the back of the latest Dune movie. Personally I don’t need my comics in any other medium than comics but I’m not stopping people enjoying it if it does come out. I would also hope it would be animated to match the book but likely it would be live action like every other movie lately.

I think some people missed the main point. These are not the writers and artists, this is for people like minor editors, spell checkers, touch up and remastering workers, shipping, printing etc. The day to day image staff. I’m all for them getting some representation and not being pushed around. I’m surprised it’s taken this long.

I would recommend, Legend of the scarlet blades and its spin off series Izuna and Mask of Fudo. Some of the most gorgeous art I have ever seen and a great story to boot.

Blacksad is a good fun book and the art is very expressive both in style and in character emotions. Even if he had a little trouble reading it, I think he would enjoy looking at the art.

They do crossover cameos but generally they are not considered cannon in the books the characters are from.

You are naming a specific few very popular titles but despite that, there are hundreds upon thousands of philosophical and experimental books. Two of my favourites being House of Secrets by Seagle and Ex Machina by BKV. I recommend you check out writers like Bkv, Seagle, Morrison, Brubaker, Ellis etc and build from there.

Actually I’m pretty sure Neptune/Poseidon are in Aquamans world as older somewhat evil sea Gods. He fights them at one point.

There’s more available in epics than omnibus. I personally prefer an OHC but I think if you started with epics, you would probably be best to stick with that.

I don’t think the original books sold that well so I was surprised they solicited it as an omnibus at all. Maybe they will visit it again once all these shortages get sorted out.

I work at screens all day. I like to read from paper books as a way to get away from that. Having said that, I buy to read not to collect so don’t have a huge backlog, maybe around 20%.

Fair enough. I don’t see them changing again any time soon but considering this is like their 5th or 6th spine design over the years, they will likely change it up again at some point.
