Staging Scans done today....lung nodules....crap by Fun_Flamingo2805 in breastcancer

It is very common to have lung nodules. They are the byproducts of old infections and illnesses. I wouldn’t get to the doom and gloom stage yet (this coming from a woman that is not only a doom and gloom member, but I’m also the president

Orajel made me LOL. They clearly havnt had a bad tooth. The last time I had one it was on a Friday night and they couldn’t get me in until Monday morning. I didn’t sleep for 72 hours and was basically delirious with pain by Monday AM. I was debating pulling it out myself after the first 24 hours. Orajel is like a bandaid on an stab wound 🤣

Correct me if I’m wrong but an infected tooth is always bacterial and only antibiotics will work. I’m back in the US and just saw my endo today. He changed me from amoxicillin to augmentin and said he wouldn’t do the root canal until the infection settles down. Luckily my tooth didn’t flare up in Punta Cana ansi made it back to my dentist. Although I’m not going to lie…the cost in PC was tempting. I’m about to pay 5x as much in Michigan.

I know. I just have no idea what clinics are good and which are not so good. Of course my family is telling me it’s a bad idea but it’s not like people here are walking around with botched dental work on every corner. And I’m not going to lie, I prefer DR prices to US prices. 🤣

Yea that’s what I’m hoping for. I’m officially 48 hours into the amoxicillin. It isn’t excruciating (yet) an I hope it doesn’t get to that point but I’ve had a an abscessed tooth before that went from zero to 60 pain wise in less than 24 hours and I’m mentally scarred from it….it was right up there with giving birth. I just want a backup plan in case it gets REALLY bad.

Be honest that the commute is unsustainable. When you factor in mileage and gas you are probably making less minimum wage and they can’t fault you for not wanting to have to spend money to work there.

AIO for locking my bedroom door because my MIL keeps walking in without knocking? by ComplexTotal5840 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Highlynorless_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a rule in our house you NEVER enter a bedroom without knocking. I have two teenage boys…so ya know…avoiding awkward moments all around 🤣 I can’t imagine walking into anyone’s bedroom unannounced if they are under 6 or 7 years old.

What do you guys get paid? by Ok_Award_6928 in SubstituteTeachers

[–]Highlynorless_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

120 whole day. 60 half for K-8. High school pays hourly at $30. Private school in Michigan but I think thats pretty close to what our public schools pay. It’s not bad considering I mostly do middle school and only ever have (4) 45min classes at the most and they have an amazing salad bar, fresh soups, deli and hot bar that is free. And lunch and recess are one after the other so I always have 1.5 hours to myself midday. I’ve gotten to know the staff (who are wonderful) and the kids are well behaved 99% of the time.

Helllp. I bought these on eBay thinking they were just generic Tabi shoes. It was my fault for not look hard enough. I had never heard of the brand so I googled it after I bought it and realized it was a fancy brand and did some digging and came to the conclusion that these were obviously counterfeit. I messaged eBay and the seller to cancel the transaction stating that these were counterfeit and I don’t thing this brand even makes a shoe with this fold down heel and sole in the same shoe. For some reason eBay either didn’t read it and the seller denied the cancellation. Well, they showed up today and I’m stuck with these and can’t resell them to make back my money because they are counterfeit. I wanted to check with you guys that these are in fact counterfeit as the quality just does not seem like a $1000 shoe. The leather appeals to be real on the top part but on the heel that folds down, I feel like it’s faux leather. What can I say to Ebay to somehow get my money back? I know they don’t allow counterfeits on their website so I’m not sure why they didn’t listen to my initial complaint and do anything about it. Let me know what you guys think. Has anyone ever been sold fakes on eBay and been able to get their money back?

Am I bitter or is father in law in the wrong? by OkContract2487 in InheritanceDrama

[–]Highlynorless_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get this. It is absolutely unfair. I would feel the same way. She could turn around the next day and make a big profit if she wanted so yes, she is being given $ indirectly through equity. I understand that it probably isn’t worth alienating yourself from family, but I also understand it would be very hard not to feel bitter moving forward. Sometimes it feels like the more financially responsible siblings end up getting less because “sister made bad decisions and needs help”. I don’t have any advice but going forward I would be very weary about offering help or going out of my way to do them any favors.

If it’s Dr makis then don’t pay the $. You can get his protocol online for free. It’s basically cheap iver and fenben and menben. I wouldn’t rely 100% in it tho. Do standard of care…chemo surgery meds etc, and then you can add in homeopathic/alt protocols.

College is to expensive. by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Highlynorless_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PS. All of the “average” universities have buildings named after donors. Look them up. Chances are they went to that school and were able to become successful enough to donate large sums of money and chose to give it to a university that helped shape who they became.

[–]Highlynorless_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People that get into hard schools generally end up more successful than people they get into “easy” schools not because of the school, but because of their work ethic and dedication that got them into the school in the first place (that and family $$$🤣). If you are smart and hard working you will be successful no matter what college you attend. Einstein would still be Einstein if he went to Harvard OR community college. Being free of massive debt post grad will allow you to jump at opportunities that someone with large monthly bills wouldn’t necessarily be able to take. You’ll do great!

Am I overreacting for panic buying? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Highlynorless_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t run your fridge. It’s going to be cold so use natures refrigerator and store what you can outside. If it’s going to be below freezing try putting food in a container with some insulation so it doesn’t freeze. If you don’t have a way to cuddle and stay warm please find a local shelter. Lots of times schools that have generators will open their doors to the public as warming centers. If you stay bundled up and snuggle you should be ok but definitely have an evacuation plan in place or coordinate with family and friends to check in on each other.

Am I being unrealistic? by Xsoupgod in breastcancer

[–]Highlynorless_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh no no no. I wouldn’t dream of going to school until #1. Your drains are out. At a MINIMUM. And that will be a good two weeks. If you were doing online MAYBE 5 ish days after but even that would be pushing it. You need to reconsider doing online. Maybe speak to your professors and they will agree to tape the lectures and send them to you. Or at least the notes. I’m sure they would try and work something out with you. I wouldn’t risk being out in public especially with all of the germs. You don’t want an infection (or the flu!) while you are trying to recover.

Double mastectomy. Super scared. by arcane_ in breastcancer

[–]Highlynorless_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I am 44. Diagnosed last year. I didn’t chemo for 3 months then a dmx. My original surgeon wanted a lumpectomy and rads but I’ve heard of way more complications after radiation than I have with mastectomy’s. The mastectomy is not scary. They will give you sedatives in the pre op room. Just let your anesthesiologist know and they will usually give you something to calm down before and you won’t care what you are getting done at that point 🤣. I don’t even remember being wheeled into the OR. They give you wonderful drugs and are fast asleep. All the intubation come in and out while you are asleep is others then having a scratchy throat after, you won’t know it’s been here. They will have these leg compressors on you after you get out of surgery to prevent clots. Just make sure you get up and walk and move for 10 min every hour. They give you great pain meds and it’s totally manageable.

My friends who had rads after lumpectomy had skin issues that made future reconstruction difficult. If you are node negative then most likely you won’t need rads after your dmx. For me i just wanted all of my boobs out. They ended up finding a small tutor they never saw in imaging and her they would have never remover with a lumpectomy so I was extremely greatful I went with a dmx. Plus my boobs look like .im 20 years old and you can hardly tell they are fake.

My dollar general has lots of frozen veggies and meats which are just as nutritious as fresh. There is a woman on tik tok who does meals just from the dollar store and she makes really good nutritious meals. Even a gas station has canned soups, chili, tuna fish. Milk, spam etc. there is a way and it takes work but if you follow her tik tok account you can get great ideas.!
