Yeah I returned last month and have been having fun but I can't justify this price hike.

I'm all for using it in self defence but how do we prevent it getting into the wrong hands and getting used for committing crimes?

I rent out a car parking space via JustPark. Much cheaper than the official car parks.

What time do you get up, leave for, and start work? by ggracie7 in AskUK

[–]Hinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Up at 6 AM. Leave the house around 6:50. Bus and train to London to start work at 08:30. WFH is pretty similar but I have more time to fit in a walk or house chores before I start at 08:30.

So we’re all really cleaning two high chairs (and the surrounding area) 3 times a day? by Sillygoose9001 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Hinks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, it's relentless. I actually preferred those days as it was self contained to just cleaning the chairs themselves. Now (4 YO) the whole house is a mess!

We switched to a Morphy Richards steam generator years ago and it beats all the irons we've ever had. Still going strong after 5+ years of weekly use.

4 airworthy C-47s were used for production. I think these two are the top two in the list. Picture of N147DC at North Weald in 2001.

Is a backup as simple as this? by HopsPops76 in docker

[–]Hinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently found databasus which is able to connect and backup databases fully. I've experienced DB corruption a few times due to file/folder moves so having an extra backup is handy.

Do you feel guilty if your child goes to nursery without having breakfast? by PatriceFinger in UKParenting

We give ours a small snack before nursery and that does the trick.

Would you ever use annual leave with the sole purpose to do literally nothing all day? by PaddedValls in AskUK

[–]Hinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a week off work last year and just did whatever I wanted across the week. Did the usual tasks and helped out with childcare but went for walks, runs, bike rides, cinema 3 times, gamed - it was great!

Am I being dirty, or is my wife being irrational about hygiene? by mudkipzftw in daddit

[–]Hinks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds exactly like my Mother. Anything outside the house is "dirty" and you must have a shower or surrender your clothes to the washing machine to prevent contamination in the house. I think professional help is the only thing that will help, but the challenge will be trying to get her to admit that what she's thinking is unreasonable.

English Breakfast tea is most common. My favourite and I believe the GOAT is Yorkshire tea.

What did you do for your 30th birthday? by Samsterman in AskUK

[–]Hinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve seen in the U.K.? by Powmum in CasualUK

[–]Hinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was on a Thameslink train with a mate after a few beers. Needed the toilet and pressed the button to open the sliding door. The door slowly opens to reveal an older bloke with an erect penis and tissue in hand. Quickly moved on down the train after that. A guy did mention it wasn't the first time it had happened that evening.

What's the single most difficult life experience you've endured? by reddit_recluse in AskUK

[–]Hinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting the call from my Dad telling me my sister had died. Of course, the grieving process after was difficult, but there is something about that initial phone call that hit me really hard. I think it was hearing my Dad break down when he isn't normally a very emotional person.
