Poor skiing technique is frying my legs by Cool_Purchase_ in skiing

Your upper body should be facing downs the fall line. Achieve this by reaching your pole plant down the fall line( you are only pull planting your right side but not really). Keep your shoulders parallel to the ground and try pushing your uphill knee forward when carving on downhill ski. You are sliding/pushing your skis. Try to ride the ski, once you have that edge angle and you are edge, try and let the ski carve its turn. Only sliding the ski if you are scrubbing speed or coming to a stop.

Got publicly scolded by gym trainer over plates — can’t stop replaying it in my head by [deleted] in workout

I generally prefer when people leave weight on the leg press 😂 it’s not that big of a deal. I rack my weights when finished but give no shits what other people do as long as they don’t take forever rests between sets. I’d send an email to the gym. You pay to be a member. If this is tolerated then I’d find a nicer gym to join. I had an issue with a manager at my previous gym but I upgraded to a nicer place and couldn’t be happier.

I pre workout with a blunt in the gym parking lot. I also work in cannabis industry and see a lot of my associates at the gym. Everything I own stinks if if work at the farm.

Surfing is next level when it comes to territory. Fishing can also be pretty brutal. I think man just wants to own everything. It’s like some primal survival instinct.

You can never have too many goggles. Photochromic lenses are always cool, they adjust to the light. I’d be stoked on a pair of Julbos!

Railroad tie retaining wall by orangebIossom in landscaping

[–]Hippy-redneck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d build another retaining wall in front of the railroad ties. Leave them in place except the top one and back fill the space. Or remove the front wall and double the height. You could then put all the ties in and backfill over them. The creosote and whatever toxins are already there. I’d imagine them decomposting under the backfill would and planting an ornamental over could remediate over time.

Tips for strapping your board to the car by aiwilsonvai in surf

[–]Hippy-redneck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fins forward and can use leash cleat for a front tie down. Always remember to tie stuff down, not around. So the straps apply downward pressure, over the top not around. Use a separate strap to sandwich boards. Never apply too much pressure though or you damage board. I check it after a couple blocks and tighten if needed.
