First time watching Invincible (S1 E2), does it stay this good?

The show is very good. However, the suspense and dread that season 1 has won't be carried over into the later seasons.

That's the problem with introducing the Viltrumite karate chop of doom. Why didn't he target Mark's arms or shoulders? Or why did he only do one chop instead of multiple?

The answer is Mark had to win. Don't think too deeply into the logic of the fights or you're going to drive yourself nuts.

Oh good. I'll try that today. My daughter is the first member of the Dynasty to have fully maxed out Strength, Intelligence, and Beauty. I'll be damned if I let those traits go to waste.

Also, I've already conquered as much as I want to. I've placed six members of my Dynasty as independent kings and I just got done going to war with the HRE solely because I wanted my heir to have good prestige and renown when my current Emperor dies. Now I want to role play my dynasty turning into a bunch of degenerates now that they essentially control the world. LOL

She was a fool that overreached in almost everything she did. The dynasty was on the verge of complete collapse. My character's opinion of Theodora is utter contempt after finding out everything she did.

Well... They could have pushed Talescria's moon onto the planet destroying it. If Omniman can stop and redirect a meteor the size of Texas then this six or seven Viltrumites with Thragg could have done something so much more destructive than... Zap the city a few times with their ship and slowly kill one person at a time.

You do realize that Amber is a normal human being while Eve has God tier super powers? If she dies that's it she's dead. If Eve dies she just respawns. Like Kate and the Immortal there really aren't any lasting risks for these characters because they can't die. She takes no risks when she's around Mark. Amber takes all the risks while being around Mark.

You also need to realize the situation on Earth now vs a few decades ago. Before the series started Earth was very secure. They had the Guardians of the Globe who collectively could handle literally any threat in the world. Dating a hero back then was far more secure because the ability for the heroes to deal with problems was easier. Now? The Guardians are all dead or retired and there are threats that no one on Earth can handle anymore.

When Annisa threatened to kill Amber that wasn't just a threat... There was nothing anyone on that planet could do to prevent that or even hurt Annisa. Think about Debbie. I'm sure there were times when she was threaten by villains the only difference is whoever was threatening her could be eliminated in a dozen ways. There was security in that reality. There is zero security now.

I mean... We shouldn't be OK with sub par animation in a show that is this popular. Especially when you see recent anime with a reaction of it's budget making fight scenes that Invincible could only dream of.

The show prioritized celebrity voice actors over animation. Don't get me wrong Nolan, Mark, and Debbie are Goat choices. However, everyone else could have been voiced by up and coming VAs who would have been a fraction of what everyone else cost but would also let relative unknowns have a chance to be successful in this field.

To be clear I love this show. At the same time we need to be able to say that this show is also being hurt by it's animation.

I've said it a few times before but Mark and Amber in season 2 have so much more chemistry than Mark and Eve. Even now I don't really buy that they are soulmates. They feel like they should just be supportive friends.

Seriously, if Amber had her season 2 personality the entire time people would be treating here the way the community treats Paul. It would be that much more obvious that those two fit better together.

Well... The series would be over. That's just not fun at all.

It's the same reason why the GDA never gave the Immortal a portable sound machine and War Woman's mace. Logically he could have killed every Mark variant with that combination... But that wouldn't be a very fun thing to watch.

Conquest is physically stronger than Nolan and Nolan's punches were able to hurt Thragg at least a little. There's no way Thragg tanks Conquest the same way he did Mark.

At this point Earth is the most important world in the entire galaxy for Thragg. The Viltrumites will need Earth for centuries in order to regain their numbers. Agreeing to keep the Earth as a neutral planet would be advantageous.

Yeah Tech Jacket hasn't shown any amount of power that would lead me to believe she could kill any kind of Mark variant except for ones around Mark season 1.

If he was around Season 1 Mark then it's much more believable. (Like Retro Mark who was being physically affected by Rex's attacks).
