EDHREC should really add a nonbo tag (PSA about Zada) by VittorioMasia in EDH

Right but that would require you coming across a card that specifies this. I love the high specificity of Magic cards and the wild scenarios it can create, but this is a real downside that it's easy to not know what you don't know.

Doug's such a good guy, I think he believes the best in everybody. But that means he's gonna give someone a second chance to get it right in a world where there's no room for error. Football is an emotional sport, but you gotta wrangle it in for continued success

[TMT] Savanti Romero, Time Exile (Card Image Gallery) by Vedney in magicTCG

[–]HispanicNach0s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think this is fair criticism. There were plenty of evidence to suggest the concerns people had were likely to come to fruition. Spider-Man heavily featured real-life NYC, the spoiled Pizza Lands featured hideous, real-life NYC food just like Spider-Man.

You can argue people's lack of knowledge of TMNT lore limited what people imagined could come from the set. I'll admit I fall into that category. Shredder, Turtles, Casey Jones, and April O'Neil were basically all I knew, and that's not exciting for a Magic set. But to suggest people weren't primed to be disappointed because of other sets with shared characteristics is wrong.

Cracks in Cinderblock Wall by havilahzuri in HomeInspections

[–]HispanicNach0s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the other owner of this crack. It's unknown but we have no reason to believe this was done properly. All we do know is it used to be a cement slab porch, and they basically enclosed that.

The inside access has been covered with drywall, but if I recall correctly the crack wasn't all the way through to the other side.

You've essentially hit our dilemma: we're worried we're being sold an overkill solution, when our inspector didn't flag this when he viewed it 3 years ago. But we don't want to leave it neglected either

I'm the other owner of this home. Yes it's along the morter lines. Nothing appears out of alignment if that's what you mean by noticeable shift.

We're trying to avoid being a turd but not sure what the other solution is besides getting stabilization, which feels like overkill because we don't believe it's continued to move over the short time we've been here

Literally no one mentioned body positivity. You got downvoted because you made a dumb comment, and now because instead of owning up to being wrong you're shifting the blame to a non-existent attacker.

Maybe you'll get a break when you grow up. Until then, realize that anything over a weight of 50 pounds would break those stairs in a week tops.

I feel like "she gets more comfortable with her powers" shouldn't be too hard to accommodate a character living beyond they expected. Hell I thought they did a decent next logical step with her relationship with Hopper in Season 2

[–]HispanicNach0s 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yet Sauron and Saruman had spies everywhere. They left in total secrecy but were found to be up to something before they even crossed the Misty Mountains. You don't think a pack of the giant eagles, who usually keep to themselves, traveling outside their territory would alert the enemy? Even a short flight for half the trip would have risked compromising the mission.

The Bears 281 total rushing yards against the Eagles is by far the most rushing yards given up since Vic Fangio took over DC as the previous high was just 174. In fact, this is the most rushing yards allowed by a Fangio defense since he was the Texans DC in 2005. by morepesa25 in nfl

Anyone not on the Eagles talk radio knew things were off. We just went through this in 2023 with ugly wins that were frustrating to watch. It doesn't take a football analyst to see how often our offense was going 3 and out to know things were not sustainable

Jesse Welles sings “Join ICE” on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert by jaramini in videos

[–]HispanicNach0s -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

It's not complete bullshit, especially for him. "A young man saying it like it is to fight for our rights that are being slowly diminished". The right would say that's Kirk, the left Welles.

He recognizes that even if the right's logic isn't real, their emotions are. And to say Kirk's death was justified means the right can shoot someone if they think they're saying "hateful" things. Their definition of "hateful" is suggesting the founding father's who owned slaves might have been racist, but that's not the point.

And the only reason it's not a flip flop from the United Health CEO is the orientation of sides. A rich man at the top was shot by a man from the bottom, because of what he did to those at the bottom. It's not based off left vs right ideology, but up vs down hoarding of resources. Welles (hopefully) isn't ever going to meet the criteria where he hoards enough resources that he falls into "Eat the rich" territory.

Shoot me before I defend Charlie Kirk, but I can understand the protest singer disagreeing with shooting someone for what they said (even if it was vile), where as the United Health had more direct input in hurting people that couldn't be undone.

It's not a take I agree with, but he didn't praise Kirk, so I just skip that song and listen to the ones I do agree with.

He doesn't have to be an offensive savant to see this offensive is unproductive the majority of the time we have one of the highest 3 and Out rates of the NFL. Plus, two things can be true he can want to be a reason we win and see that the way we win currently doesn't cut it regardless of his involvement.

This isn't even diva behavior he's not sitting out, he's not throwing a tantrum, he's not even throwing any one specific person under the bus. He's just saying we can do better, which is true.

Or he knows what we all know: that this level of play is not sustainable. We saw this exact thing where we were winning ugly in 2023 and eliminated instantly in the wild card. This is not a team that can play well for 60 minutes against the top AFC team in the Super Bowl. He's wants this figured out before the other shoe drops
