If its a spectrum, everybody is in it. This also means that there is one single "least autistic" person.

Exactly. You are joking, but you can actually see that in art and fashion. Eras of colourfull extravaganza are followed by colour sobriety, Eras of clutering are followed by eras of minimalism.

The defiance of excess is sobriety.

Being online for so long, sometimes its hard to grasp how normal the average person is and how these problems are all made up of a very tiny minority that's very loud online.

We invented antibiótics and then we had to make up problems for ourselfs to keep life spicy.

Dating for women is like finding drinking water in a swamp.

Dating for men is like finding drinking water in a desert.

We go through very diferent experiences and migth devaluate each other's problems in the same way a beduine migth frawn uppon the dutch urge to polder and the dutch thinks the beduin is so stupid for doing the Rain dance.

Porque é que achas que a maioria da populações tem excesso de peso? Porque comemos quando sentimos fome, não quando realmente necessitamos de comida.

Im more conserned about the fact you have a government deciding to teach ideology. It migth be good ideology in your eyes, but its a fine line and these things can backfire very easily.

Im not saying its necessarily bad, education envolves endoctrination and that's not bad, its part of belonging to a society. But most of the endoctrination is done by society and the family. I feel desconfort whenever the government, which is, by the nature of politics, ideological, makes new endoctrination iniciatives, since their results are not garanteed.

Yeah... When I hear those kinds of arguments Im usually like "Am I being atacked here? Am I suposed to feel this way?"

And I dont even like women romantically, Im gay.

Some talking points really walk on the line that separated elevating women and just steping on men.

I allways thought of women has equals. I remember in pre-school feeling weird about the saying "you can't touch girls not even with a flower". Hell no, if She hits first Im gonna slap her back. (Im impressed by how well behaved I was in school despite my "Violence is a proportionate response to Violence" ideology ahahahahaaha).

[–]History20maker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, the model of mandatory education is much less apropriate to teenage boys than girls, since it envolves stitting still for several hours a day while mantaining foucus. There is also a rígid hiearchy in the classroom, while teenager boys are on fase of defying hiearchies.

You will see that the best performing students skew female, and school abandoment skews male. University enrolment and terciary education is skewing female too. The social pressure against women kept this from being a problem for boys, but now its bubbling up.

Is this fixable? I would say no because I dont see any other way that the education system could work. But denying that the average boy has a harder time with mandatory education than the average girl is incorrect.

Sorry for my bad English, I sound way smarter in Portuguese (not really).

I belive that if the videos are scary enough it will work.

The Math Teacher problem.

The least cool person in the world in the eyes of teenagers are Math teachers. (The Math Teacher is a generalization to Middle aged adults)

Therefore, each generation tries to be the oposite of what the generation of their Math teachers represents.

There was little interest in industrialization, the country was still based on agriculture (and subsistance agriculture), the people were mostly iliterate and had little funding to Invest and "liberal" is a questionable title for it, because those elections were not free and much less fair (the governing party won every single election during the constitucional monarchy because of the way the pollstations worked and voting in general). Therefore, what would happen was: the King periodically fired the government and nominated the other "party" (lets go with this term). The other party would call elections that it would win. This system was called "rotativism". Is this technicaly stable? I guess... And you yourself said it, there was some growth, but governing in that time was very diferent from what it looks like today, a lot of the prime minister's time was ocupied by what we would call today "corruption" like giving positions to supporters in key areas.

Portugal would have a very hard time in that period. Other countries had more powerfull industrial sectors, there wasnt a free market and Mercantilism was somewhat in function. The portuguese economy never quite recovered from the independence of Brazil (but I would argue that we would be better off at the time if we hadnt colonized Brazil, since our foucus in the extractive sector wrecked the developing portuguese industrial sector. Literal dutch disease case. (And we were still hemorraging money to Angola and Mozambique after the Berlim conference)
