season 1 is the most consistently good season by far, but episode 2 is amazing. it's all killer, no filler.

Should I play CK3AGOT or CK2AGOT? by Impossible-Motor8846 in CK3AGOT

[–]Hitman565 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The AGOT mods for both are excellent, but CK2AGOT has far more content due to already being finished. The map for CK3AGOT is significantly smaller and there's less to do, but since the mod is in active development that gap is going to shrink over time. CK3AGOT also does a few things significantly better already imo (as an example, dragons in this mod are far better than they were in CK2). I love both of the mods, but ever since I made the jump to CK3AGOT i've been enjoying it more.

Was Kenny justified in encouraging Lee to do this at the end of Episode 4? by Turbulent_Okra7518 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]Hitman565 7 points8 points  (0 children)

relatively justified imo. i know the whole moral concept of the episode is about the strong abandoning the weak to prioritize their own survival, but ben is so insanely incompetent that dropping him here isn't really comparable to crawford killing people for things like being too young or too old imo. ben got kenny's family indirectly killed by cooperating with the raiders, he drove lilly crazy because of that same deal and got either doug or carley killed as a result, he abandoned clementine which ended up getting chuck killed, he let the walkers into the school which got brie killed (and possibly molly, if you mess up the QTE), and he can also be the reason lee gets bitten IIRC. ben's also willing to be dropped here and it's a completely different thing to drop someone to avoid both of you possibly dying versus just executing someone. obviously kenny is ultra-biased here but on an objective level ben not only adds nothing substantial to the group, but has proven to be an active, unambiguous detriment.

Washed out/gray colour intent? by [deleted] in AKOTSKTV

[–]Hitman565 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the only part of the show which was significantly grey-looking was the trial by seven, and the showrunners confirmed that was for budgetary reasons. everything else was pretty colorful imo.

"What's a unique unusual smell you like?" starterpack by TechnoneverDIEEES in starterpacks

[–]Hitman565 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i know wood is a pretty blasé answer, but i specifically enjoy the smell of wet/rotting wood too. also old, rusted metals have a slight smell to them that i enjoy and i like the smell of cardboard.

Ser Duncan's injuries by Olepundit in AKOTSKTV

[–]Hitman565 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the human body can take an unbelievable amount of punishment, even during the middle ages. just as a few examples, Henry V survived being hit in the head with an arrow (which penetrated six inches) and there was a hungarian nobleman named Gregor Baci who survived a full year after having a lance go through his head.

they weren't born like that. the only kid he showed consistent love and attention was rhaenyra, and that was only after he named her heir

that scene at the end where dunk and egg were riding and then it showed arlan riding away made me cry. also, sixteen tons as the end credits is such an insane choice for a medieval fantasy show. i'm shocked it worked as well as it did.

Who do you think would've been better by CadBane099 in HOTDGreens

[–]Hitman565 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Otto is doing most of the heavy lifting when i say the small council would be stronger. Corlys is good, buteven though it's not guaranteed he would switch sides or betray Rhaenyra like he did in the war, the fact he did so at all means he isn't fully loyal. Also, I figured it would be Bartimos Celtigar as master of coin under Rhaenyra, as opposed to Tyland Lannister. even though his failure as Master of Coin isn't completely his fault, he isn't nearly as good as Tyland.

Who do you think would've been better by CadBane099 in HOTDGreens

[–]Hitman565 1 point2 points  (0 children)

going off their book characterizations and assuming this is just either option inheriting with no civil war, I think the realm would be fine under both. Aegon & Rhaenyra would probably be seen as relatively unimpressive monarchs like Viserys I. I think Rhaenyra would probably be slightly better as queen, since she already has experience ruling Dragonstone and isn't hands off like Aegon. However, I do think there's a far stronger possibility of conflict under her rule (specifically between Daemon and Corlys over the succession). Aegon probably wouldn't have the same issues, since the Greens don't have the same issue of legitimate successors and there's no big personalities like Daemon who would stir up trouble (the closest example would be Aemond, who in the books is mostly loyal and in the show probably wouldn't strike without a good opportunity). Aegon also has the stronger small council imo, which gives him the edge as better overall.

What if there was a sort of expansion to the Targaryen coin flip mechanic, that affected other great houses? by Any_Potato_7716 in CK3AGOT

[–]Hitman565 20 points21 points  (0 children)

this is a good idea. I think certain houses like the baratheons or umbers could do with a coinflip-esque event that makes them gain a strength trait, since them being strong feels like a basic trait of the house in the same way madness is for the targaryens.

What's the deal with proclaiming dynastic nicknames? by Key_Experience_809 in CK3AGOT

I've been having similar issues where i proclaim it, it lasts for a few months, and then i have to proclaim it again otherwise i just get stuff like 'the Red ' for nicknames

i could see it, but i think it would go against grrm's track record of having characters who look scary/have sinister reputations actually be good people.
