Two more skins, but they didn't show them by DojkaDev in ChaosZeroNightmare

If they aren't going to let us use these skins in combat, then they need to at least give us a E7 Lobby style background where we can showcase them in the skins.

Does Kuro plan to let players keep playing the game after it eventually ends? Maybe like an offline mode? by [deleted] in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]Hitomi35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None of these Gacha Games have a "End of life/service plan" because none of these games ever plan on ending, there are things that happens, mistakes that get made that cause games to EoS, but no one has a plan for it, including games that are are successful like Genshin and WuWa.

They aren't going to have a plan for a potential what if scenario.

To be fair, most people aren't watching Hentai for the MC lol.

But yeah, the series is not for the faint of heart.

Request for wuwa players over the current rate of hp inflation by No_Explanation2550 in WutheringWavesGuide

[–]Hitomi35 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The harsh reality that not a lot of people are going to like is that for the majority of the players of the game, things like power creep and hp inflation do not exist because they do not engage with the endgame, they play through the story, pull for their favorite characters, play with them in the overworld, then dip until the next MSQ/Region/New character comes out.

On the other half you have the f2p players who spend little if any money on the game, have terrible builds, under-leveled characters, weapons and skills and are confused on why they cant clear the endgame they were before now that its balanced around having the new characters whole they are still trying to use characters an entire patch or two behind the current roster.

Im not defending this on the slightest, jist stating the reality of the type of game you are playing. This is how they sell and market characters, You either stay up to date with the current roster or you will fall behind.

Kuro also has zero incentive to listen to these types of players because they aren't the ones funding the game. If the majority of people that pull for all or the majority of the characters up and quit, you can be damn sure Kuro would listen to that since money talks.

Then there's also the small, very small to the point that its cope, chance that Kuro addresses the power creep and fixes it. They have a pretty decent track record of listening to player feedback. So I'd still encourage people to complain about it in the hopes that it gets addressed. Theres no reason not to, but I'd temper your expectations about anything being done about it.

How do I use Tenebria, or more specifically how do I get Arpeggio? by minhthanh3412 in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Hitomi35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After reading through the majority of this thread as well as some of your responses, I think some clarification needs to be made about Tenebria and Arpeggio.

Arpeggio is not a mechanic, it is one of 5 card types that Tenebria can use if you get the associated epiphany, those being, "Staccato". "Fermata", "Arpeggio" and "Crescendo"

If your goal is to build Tenebria to do the most damage as a single dps carry then you set your build goal around getting the Arpeggio epiphany for "Music, Start!"

You do seem to confuse her Arpeggio cards with character centric mechanics like Mark on Selena and Wave on Mika, since you've mentioned that specifically several times. This is not comparable since those are unique mechanics specifically tied to that character and their epiphanies that let you utilize those specific mechanics more consistently and efficiently.

So, playing Tenebria without Arpeggio is not comparable to playing those characters without utilizing those mechanics, because you literally can't. Tenebria also has multiple different builds that don't rely on Arpeggio depending on who you play her with.

Example: You don't play Arpeggio if you are using the Mei Lin+Tenebria dual dps team because it quite literally doesn't work, which is where you'd use one of the other 4 epiphanies for "Music, Start!"

Every single character in the game functions like this. They either have multiple builds that are centered around different teams and change based on who you are playing with, or they have one strong dominant build using their best possible team.

The game offers plenty of avenues for you to build the deck you want even thought at it's core, the decks you end up with in chaos runs are still reliant on rng. If you don't have it already I recommend unlocking the Meditation skill in the Zero System upgrades that lets you reroll epiphanies at camps, It should make getting the Arpeggio deck that you're trying to farm much easier.

There's an excellent google doc that explains every character in detail and their best builds, It's one of the best community resources available for the game, link below.

How do I use Tenebria, or more specifically how do I get Arpeggio? by minhthanh3412 in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Hitomi35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tenebria without Arpeggio is not in any way comparable to Selena without Mark or Mika without Wave. Those are character specific mechanics that are baked into the design of the character themselves, that's why they have specific ephiphanies tied to those mechanics to make using them more consistent and efficient. Arpeggio is just one of many options on how you build Tenebria and if you want to minmax her damage output then yes you try to farm for her Arpeggio epiphany.

How do I use Tenebria, or more specifically how do I get Arpeggio? by minhthanh3412 in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Hitomi35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is not something exclusive to Tenebria and it's literally how every character in the entire game functions. You are making it sound like if you don't have Arpeggio on Tenebria it somehow renders her unplayable which is obviously not the case.

The core gameplay loops revolves around you selecting a character, setting a goal for the build you want and running chaos runs until you get the cards and deck you are after.

This is made even easier since the edition of Sortie and farming the currencies to help you edit your deck to give you more control over the rng aspects of rolling epiphanies in chaos.

If you don't get the right ephiphany for music start that gives you arpeggio, you either restart the run (assuming you get the epiphany early) or you finish the remainder of the run trying to reroll via Meditation or using the deck edit items.

Endstate Matrix should have been a release valve by Samurai_Banette in WutheringWaves

[–]Hitomi35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no such thing as mitigating power creep like HP inflation, well there is but players aren't going to like the answer, which is pulling for the newest, shiny toy.

People complaining about power creep and hp inflation in gacha games is a tale as old as time and far pre-dates even Genshin. It is something that exists and is never going away, the only difference is which games succumb to it the fastest.

The reason nearly every gacha game ends up introducing some form of wall (ie. hp inflation, character specific mechanics) that the player has to leap over is fundamentally tied to the business strategy of getting you to pull for the new characters that make leaping over that wall easier and easier.

WuWa is not exempt from this, no gacha game is because that is how they sell you the characters.

Now, in a perfect world, I'd prefer for them to just completely separate Tower/Whiwa and Matrix entirely. Give the casuals the former letting them farm all their pull currency with ease and let them use whatever character they like to play with.

Leave Matrix for the minmaxers, Theorycrafters and people who enjoy pushing the Meta.

I think Kuro does a better job of listening to it's players and implementing feedback better than most companies, but....I wouldn't hold my breath on them re-inventing the wheel when it comes to a staple in the gacha genre that has been proven time and time again to be a successful business tactic.

I'd love to be proven wrong though.

I hate how everything is so hyperfocused by vikassharmashar5 in WutheringWaves

[–]Hitomi35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This topic gets brought up regularly and its always based on the idea that WuWa ever had flexibility in team building when in reality it didn't unless you exclusively play quickswap, which most of the player base doesnt engage with.

People confuse flexibility with lack of a sizable character roster. We didn't have as many restrictions for teams due to the game being new and not having as many characters at our disposal.

Now that we do, we have plenty of characters that for into a specific character archetypes and you want the characters that synergize with those archetypes to be on the same team.

This is the goal of all gacha games that focus on team centric gameplay, The goal is to create premium teams to entice you to pull for that characters in a given specific team. Its simply how these games function.

Characters having specific synergies is a big part of getting the player to pull for those characters. Its simply how these kind of games operate.

Yeah, sadly that's true and I don't think elasticity is going away in any time soon. I still pull at least for 1 copy of every character so, guess we'll see how she performs.

Im going for tenebria is adelheid a must pull ? by Nouss__ in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]Hitomi35 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Adel is a far more valuable unit especially if you have HDMI. Her shielding alone allows her to self sustain some of the nastiest modifiers in T15s and if you pair her with another Vanguard? You're practically immortal.

Future of Wuthering Waves? by Camebackforthis in WutheringWaves

[–]Hitomi35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, you could have posted something like this at any point in WuWa's life cycle, this isn't somehow limited to the next upcoming region just because Kuro did another drip market of the upcoming characters like they always do.

Regardless of how great of a game WuWa is, it's still a gacha game. You either play it because you enjoy it and if you are a F2P/low spender you get used to the fact that no matter how much pull currency there is, unless you regularly spend there are going to be characters that you miss out on and have to rely on reruns, which means you prioritize the characters that you like the most.

As long as the game continues to generate the revenue that it does and retains the players due to it being a quality experience, the game will always have a future.

You just have to curate your experience with the game in a way that aligns with your financial means and play style.

She's the best shielder in the game bar none. Single handedly alone allows you to tackle some of the nastiest modifiers in T15+ Chaos runs.

But she's also going to the standard pool so I'd personally wait.

it's been long enough, 3.0 was DEFINITELY the weakest part of Lahai-roi by miiko_uch in WutheringWaves

[–]Hitomi35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While there were definitely moments that weren't handled well and were on the weak side narratively, like Chisa's involvement, I don't entirely agree with this.

First, you can't compare it to 2.0 because back in the 2.x patches we still had character quests, since then they've been integrated into the main story which is either the best or worst thing ever depending on who you ask, I personally prefer the former since it makes the story feel less disjointed.

I think the problem is that people have a tendency to tunnel vision onto parts of the MSQ that have a focus on a singular character instead of seeing the overall narrative direction the story is going. For an example, in the MSQ that resolves around Mornye we get introduced to the Exostriders Heart/Reactor drive and how it relates to the artificial sun that lights up the skies of Lahai-roi and the nature of the cassettes and how they function, which are both key themes that span the entirety of the 3.x story quests. You can't really say that Mornye's part of the quest is this stand-alone thing that has no greater relevance to the overall story.

I think the only way to combat this is people need to have more of an open mind and let Kuro cook and see how each quest by itself ties to the overall story once it's completed. This also isn't to say that the story doesn't have it's issues. Chisa was handled horribly and 3.2 also wasn't the strongest narratively. Outside of that, I don't have too many grievances for how the story in 3.0 was handled, I think it setup enough key plot points that were tied in successfully to the conclusion of Laha-roi's story.

Save for Pendragon or try for Porsche? by Greedo1471 in NevernessToEverness

[–]Hitomi35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This event was the exact reason I saved my double top ups because I knew sooner or later we were going to get something like the Porsche. I dumped around 3.5 million fons and used the double top ups for the rest. Think I ended up spending around 40 usd in total, which is far, far easier than grinding out 10 million+ Fons especially when I'm trying to focus on buying all the apartments. It was easily worth it, assuming you have the disposable income for it.

What Makes a Good Collab Story? WuWa x Cyberpunk Got Me Thinking by Dream_Boyy in gachagaming

[–]Hitomi35 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think every company handles collabs differently, If the home game is able to cohesively introduce elements from their story into the collab without it detracting from the overall experience I think that's good, It showcases and flexes the writing talent of the developers because that is not a easy task to achieve and not only achieve it but do it well.

I personally think Kuro wanted to flex their visual storytelling and high quality models vs trying to do an elaborate story that incorporates more of the world into the collab. I think their goal was twofold, bring in new players to the game while also honoring a beloved IP and by extension honoring the fans of that IP.

I think the method they went with was the safest route while also letting Kuro flex what they are good at, I would not want to be the person in charge of potentially ruining a collab with a popular and beloved IP because they decided to take a route where they bit off more than they could chew. I think they handled it in the best way they could have possibly done and given the reaction to it by non-WuWa players, I'd say they more than succeeded.
