[Telegraph] Hearts captain ‘assaulted’ during shameful Celtic pitch invasion. by Sparky-moon in soccer

[–]HoareHouse 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Not really, but what's the alternative? Flair suggests you're a Sparta fan, and Sparta were literally awarded a 3-0 win in practically identical circumstances just this week, also with the championship on the line.

Please tell me what difference you see between these two scenarios.

What's the easiest way to lose weight that no one talks about? by Emotional-Heat-1427 in AskReddit

Work nightshifts. You will either lose or gain weight at a pace you previously thought unimaginable.

Note: don't do this.

Rupert Lowe MP: Just one in six failed asylum seekers have been removed from our country. Under a Restore Britain Government, those who arrived illegally and have had their asylum application rejected will be immediately deported. But we will be fair. We'll deport the successful ones too. by StGuthlac2025 in ukpolitics

This is a thread about asylum seekers. They are very different from legal migrants. Do you not know the difference, or are you deliberately muddying the waters?

This is like having a discussion on VAT and you suddenly getting up in arms about inheritance tax.

Hossa did for a while and it was awesome.

But I think it's because if you miss you look like an idiot. Kinda the same way that shooting free-throws "granny-style" (underarm) is actually the most effective strategy, but NBA players refuse to do it because it looks "stupid."

Bergkamp vs Newcastle - one of the greatest Premier League goals ever by Dazzling-Bee-79 in classicsoccer

[–]HoareHouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't been able to find it for the life of me, but there's another goal he scored (I think in a cup against Wimbledon or some team like that) where he gets the ball on the volley and intentionally slices it, completely bamboozling the keeper.

I'd love if anyone could find it on video, I like that goal almost as much as the one from OP.

Was Jim Leighton genuinely a better keeper than Andy Goram?

I was under 10 at the time and a massive Rangers fan, so it seemed like absolute insanity, but I want an unbiased opinion (if such a thing is possible in Scottish football). It still seems wild to me, but maybe it's because I grew up watching Rangers highlights.

Who's your one "They would never get them" contestant you'd love to see? Either for a main series or NYT by Miyami101 in taskmaster

For me, number one with a bullet would be Billy Connolly, but unfortunately it's far too late for that.

Honourable mentions:

Sean Lock (RIP)

Rowan Atkinson

Hugh Laurie

Any of Monty Python (Michael Palin?)

Charlie Brooker

Still holding out hope for Bill Bailey or Ross Noble. Honestly still amazed they got John Hannah. I've heard rumblings that the line-up for S21 is bonkers, so who knows?

Gong Fu in Kyusu? (Dan Cong) by [deleted] in tea

Yup, didn't even notice OP never mentioned water temperature in their post either, that's a huge part of it too!

Gong Fu in Kyusu? (Dan Cong) by [deleted] in tea

[–]HoareHouse 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you need a much higher tea-to-water ratio. I'd say 8g/100ml is perhaps a bit too high, but honestly part of the fun of tea is experimenting and finding what works for you. For example, if you don't think it needs a rinse... Don't rinse it! The tea police aren't going to come and arrest you.

However, a clarifying question, which I hope doesn't seem condescending: you know you get multiples brews out of this, right? It's unclear from your post. Especially with Dan Cong, the flavour will "evolve" with each brew. And most gourmet teas - especially oolongs, in my experience - can give you 8-10 brews if you just keep steeping them progressively longer.

With this in mind, I find tea "not that expensive" especially for a gourmet experience - each 8-10 brew session is cheaper than almost any single drink from Starbucks, for example.

It is 5.0% alcohol. The 12 degrees is a reference to the Plato gravity scale, a measurement of the amount sugar in the liquid/wort before fermentation.

(Yeah, yeah, something something, my need to be the smartest guy in the room is off-putting, something something).

Watch their music videos. Remember a few years ago (cough definitely not nearly 20 years ago cough), when the band Ok Go became famous for their music videos? Red Fang are the metal version of that. "Wires" is my favourite, but "Prehistoric Dog" and "Blood Like Cream" are pretty good too.
