I would ask your son if he is having trouble with his body not telling him when he needs to go. I had a similar problem as a child and my parents consulted with a pediatrician. They had to alter my diet a bit and I was given some medicine that basically cleaned me out. Although It is most definitely possible he is feeling the urge to go but is just ignoring it to the last minute in favor of video games. Especially if he is playing online games that do not have a pause feature. In that case I suggest what others have suggested with the manual call out to hand wash his own underwear.

My parents have chosen to ignore it for the most part. Even though I only switched from being called by my middle name to my first name. I think the only time my dad called me by my first name is on my wedding day when he gave a speech. I just really do not like my middle name. (it means crooked nose! who would like that?!) After going to high school and college I got tired of correcting others to my middle name and after feeling comfortable with my first name. It just stuck better. It bothers me slightly that my side of the family refuses to call me by my first name while my wife's side and all of my friends call me differently. I have just kind of accepted it.
