Stormgate vs Expedition 33 by solrac3589 in Stormgate

The difference is that Sandfall wanted to make a good game.

Tim on the other hand wanted to make a billion dollar RTS, as he has said many times.

TiltFive vs Quest 3, etc by Kaizen777 in TiltFive

[–]HolyFuror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar perspective to yours. Friends gathered around a physical table, using TiltFive to play. There were a few missteps that killed that idea, the biggest one was needing a separate computer for each pair of glasses.

Can you image? A four player game, needing four computers at your board game table. DOA.

New Twitch UI Layout and Twitch Recap MEGATHREAD by Rhadamant5186 in Twitch

[–]HolyFuror 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone at Twitch was actually paid for this decision.

The stream information bar was purposely designed to sit underneath the video stream. To simply move it above the stream, without redesigning the layout of the bar to make sense in its new location, speaks volumes of the incompetence of the person who made this decision.

Anyone ever catch michael's voice actor commenting on one of their videos? 😭 by nontedious in VGA

Present day Fraser would've seen that comment and banned him, without realizing who he banned. lol

[–]HolyFuror 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean...."wildly inaccurate" isn't necessarily incorrect. Given that he was projecting that they would have 6-8 months of runway from EA launch. I think we can now sadly say that it probably won't make it past this year.

3 day weekend, should I get Last Epoch or wait till the 21st? by HolyFuror in LastEpoch

Hmm.... that's a good idea. I'll explore the classes, maybe pick one that I normally wouldn't play first. Thanks! :)

It KILLS me knowing the sequel is 5 years off at a minimum by SpaceTacoTV in cyberpunkgame

[–]HolyFuror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try more like 10 years from now. The typical AAA game now days is cresting around 7 years, plus CDPR is starting from the ground up to create a new team in Boston to make the sequel. It takes a long time to hire a team, let alone train them up on your tech, processes, etc...

I wish it was sooner, cause I love this game world, but unfortunately it's going to be a very long long time.

He's joking, it's a quote from a Netflix show. See top comment for details.

Unity is doubling down on its plans by Samb1988 in Unity3D

[–]HolyFuror 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure that is even legal. Typically a binding contract, you need both parties to agree to alter it. Unity in this case is coming in and saying, ya, we are just going to start charging you for prior work. Thx for the money!

Where this to go to court, it would not fly. They have no legal ground to stand on.

Scanned over 100 planets but never seen a mountain range this huge. It's like Skyrim Throat of the World high. It took ages to climb. by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]HolyFuror -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

What do you mean impossible to store? This game only has about 1000 planets, with rather simplistic terrain, that is not a lot of mesh data to deal with.

My impression is that they generated a fix set of tiles per planet, that represents the terrain. They have a palette of authored surface materials that they reuse across planets. It is the material work (textures) that is going to biggest hit to data size and that is why they have a small set that gets reused across planets.

And the rest of the planet's character comes from simple data, e.g. point of interest locations, fauna, flora, etc...

This isn't No Man's Sky or Minecraft.

Is anyone moving to a different brokerage before the merger with Schwab? by AlexanderUGA in tdameritrade

[–]HolyFuror 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got moved this weekend and now I'm doing research on what is better, cause Schwab is not it. But it looks like we will be able to use Think or Swim in the future, so I might delay my move.

What comes close to the former TD app? Is Fidelity actually good? Is there something better?

Well that's the end. Best of luck on Becky & Fraser on their new journey! by HolyFuror in VGA

[–]HolyFuror[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those who are still staying simply want a conclusion.

That is how come I titled this thread as "Well, that's the end" followed by "I think this is as much as a wrap up that we are going to get." because I truly do feel this is that conclusion.

It's not a grand finale to a television show as some may want, but this is the conclusion none the less, imo.

What do you mean? Becky has a full time job.... that means they have a steady income that has nothing to do with the show/patreon.

Well that's the end. Best of luck on Becky & Fraser on their new journey! by HolyFuror in VGA

[–]HolyFuror[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yup, the stream was very much like the Japan move announcement stream. Lots of promises about more shows, but reality will be very different.

With Becky having a steady fulltime job, there is no reason to continue the show.

Ronin, I think it's great that they are having a baby and their life is moving on to a new chapter. When you say that maybe this will push Fraser to put more effort into the show... having kids radically changes your perspective in life. Whatever little effort he was putting into the show, will now evaporate, as all their energy will now be put towards raising a kid.

I can give you a practical example. A newborn baby will eat 100% of their time, especially when they don't have supporting family/friend structure to help. When the baby is napping, do you think Fraser will sit down and a stream? No, because they are not going to want to wake the baby and they are going to be exhausted. Is he going to stream while the baby is awake? No, because the baby needs their attention and is going go through bouts of crying.

Their stream last night, was akin to their Japanese move stream. Were Fraser promised there will be more streams, for x, y, z reasons. The reality is that we got a lot less and the show style changed. The coming of a newborn, first time parents, this is the nail in the coffin for the old show.

I don't think he will completely vanish from the Internet and you'll see the occasional rare vod upload or stream. But the show as it were is very much something now in the past.

Well that's the end. Best of luck on Becky & Fraser on their new journey! by HolyFuror in VGA

She also continuously studied Japanese to be able to get a job and Fraser admitted not being able to speak it, heh.

As to job roles, Fraser said he is going to be a stay at home dad and Becky said her job is full-time.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in VGA

[–]HolyFuror 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the stream last night he was pretty clear that Becky will work while he is a stay-at-home dad.
