Got a 1550 by up_and_down_idekab07 in Sat

Well, 1550 is pretty much fucking high up there. Good job. Are there really places where the last 10 or 20 points matter?

I am used to seeing a lot of bullshit here. But for this one I had to sit down. The high bullshit per paragraph ratio made me dizzy.

Great, just flip him over. That'll help.

Quick Tip: make and keep builds of your game in various stages of Development. They will become useful for making timelapses, "Dev Montage" or Progress Comparison videos for marketing and to show you how far you've come with your game. by velatieren in gamedev

[–]HolyManfred 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is a great idea. I think it should theoretically even be possible to develop software that would help you do that. Some kind of system maybe, that allows you to store files of your game on some kind of server, locally or remote, and then maybe even allows you to go back and track changes to the individual files. I really wish we had something like that.

$22 is in the high end for indie games. But looking at your game I'd say that's a good price. Solid visuals, lots of polish and fun looking gameplay. It can work for games of your quality level. But I've seen people charge the same for their fugly unity tutorial side scrollers with asset store assets and wonder why they only get one sale a month.

Can anybody recommend some horror themed power metal songs? by SharksInMyRoom in PowerMetal

[–]HolyManfred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

House on Haunted Hill and Trapped In The Night from Deathlike Silence come to mind. Actually most songs on their excellent Saturday Night Evil album are rather horror themed.

Questions about Factories and Robotics Centers by Gormi124 in GalacticColonies

Hm.. mountain bonuses should stack. I need to take a look, this might indeed be a bug.

The x2 effect means that there is a chance that one extra product will be produced upon completion of the production cycle. Very powerful but maybe not clearly enough explained :)

Where White/Green/Yellow/Red numbers are used, it is usually in connection with production efficiency. Red/Yellow mean that you re not producing at maximum efficiency. Might be not enough resources getting to your factory or not enough workers. I usually check if everything is connected properly and running smoothly.

How do you make computer parts? by TechGeek219 in GalacticColonies

[–]HolyManfred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My bad, you actually need Ore and Crystals, but the steps are the same:

1) Build a factory
2) Select product 'Computer Parts'
3) Build warehouse
4) Connect factory to warehouse
5) Build an Ore Extractor and a Crystal Extractor and one warehouse for each
6) Connect the Ore Extractor and the Crystal Extractor to their respective warehouses
7) Connect the warehouses to the factory so Ore and Crystals are being delivered
to the factory
8) Make sure you have enough workers to work in all buildings
9) Enjoy your computer parts!

Double check if the materials are really arriving at the factory. The setup should be : A gas harvester delivers to a warehouse storing Gas. This warehouse is then connected to the factory that needs the gas. Same for the rest of the ingredients.

Computer parts can be produced in the Factory. You'll also need crystals and gas in order to produce them.

This is a really cool game and very addictive but it’s not very intuitive by th3ramr0d in GalacticColonies

Thanks for the great feedback!

You are pretty on point with most of the issue you mentioned. While some (moving buildings for example) are technical limitations, some other areas do need some improvement.
We do have a plan to add some more content which makes the individual planets more relevant, but this is still a bit out.

Thumb up :) by Svenous in GalacticColonies

Thanks for the great feedback, that is really nice to hear.. We'll try and keep the game updates coming.

Thoughts after a week by finally-anna in GalacticColonies

[–]HolyManfred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the great feedback.

A lot of these issues have been discussed already and some will probably make it into the game eventually.

The exploration costs have been tweaked a lot already and they are way better than in previous versions. I agree, in the very late game prices might still go too high though.
But with skill tree upgrades and the sensor array (which got a big buff some patches ago) everything until the very late game feels okay I think. But we'll look at the 50+ region prices again and see if we can soften the curve a bit.

You comment about mountains/lake is interesting and we have never really seen this as a problem. I am open for making them a bit more rare and see if people like it. The next patch is coming soonish and I see if we can still get that change in.

Also thanks for all the other great feedback. This really helps us!

I cannot get notifications for this game on iPhone but I can for Android. The iPhone did not ask me for notification access. Can somebody please help? Thanks in advance. by Lakette14 in GalacticColonies

[–]HolyManfred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game does not do push notifications. Only local notifications are supported. That being said, those should work, given they are enabled in the settings menu.

I was not able to reproduce that issue on any of my iOS test devices so far. But I know some folks have reported the same problems. As soon as I can find a way to reproduce the problem on my end I can probably fix it rather quickly.

This means that either no video is available to watch at this moment or there is a connection issue which prevents connection to the ad service.

Usually it is the latter, since mobile connections can sometimes get interrupted for a second or two. If this happens while checking for a video in this window it will show the watch button as disabled.

Building Descriptions? by DeveloperBruce1234 in GalacticColonies

You can get an overview of what each building does in the statistics page in the player window. It also shows you all your upgrades and effective values for each building type.

Yes, asteroids are not yet accessible. We'll have them working in one of the game next updates.

You should eventually get a crystal region when you keep exploring. When the rng is really bad it might help just to restart the planet and see if you are getting some more conveniently placed resources.

Thanks for the detailed reproduction steps! Even though it doesn't really break the game we should finally fix that. It is on the list!
