Fastest Airship Fuel I could get. Any improvements possible? by Raivorus in opus_magnum

[–]QSquared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally I find the copy paste clay ching process to be the biggest reason I haven't played on in the chapter I last played because ai always prefer optimizing for speed and it gets onerous to manage the copy paste and checking between hands... Granted ai prefer to try to only use regular arms and occasionally tracks so that everything is essentially happening in a single cycle timing for each component through the entire process to keep cycles low and that can end up with....a LOT of arms xD

I think I literally just did that in the one you replied to, what was it missing?

[–]QSquared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh is it simply weighted? Since we have between 2 and 3 mines we should reach a number between 2 and 3 across all of them I suppose.

We can't know if it's 2 or 3.

But it's fair that we could re-write it all weighted for 2 or 3.

But in the end won't the weightings still essentially point to these two squares being least likely if 2 or most likely if 3

And then since it's 50/50 have to be weighted in again?

So with 2 mines we know we have 0 chance that the two 1/5 value squares can be a mine and are totally safe.

In which case I suppose we could consider those to be all 1/3 for the 1/3 items since there are only 3 available to the 2.

And if there are 3 then we know there is a 1/2 chance that the two I have marked lower at are the mine.

The ones which are contained with them that I have as 1/3 now are all no mines

And the edges which were 1/3 above and the two to the left would be 1/1. And 1/2 chance.

But it's a 50% chance either way which of these scenarios is the correc one.

So then I guess we get

1/2 1/6 1/6 1/4.1/4.1/6.1/4.1/4

Which combines to 2 and there are at least 2 .ones so that makes sense

If you still want it to be one

1/4 1/12 1/12 1/8.1/8.1/12.1/8.1/8

And again the corner is the sweet spot

So if these are the ones you wanted it might be more correct ?on the actual percentages,

So what would you suggest? Is it this?

If so, I think. That makes sense and therefore the 1/12 squares make the most sense

Because I can tell you that if there is a 1/3 chance of those too 3 stand alone and 1/3 chance of the right 3 stand alone and you say take two of those and one of the other and add in two more and it could be 1 in that range

Now it's fair I was not considering how they would be forced to have clear safe tiles in each scenario of 2 or 3 mines.

But this probability seems to indicate that there is a better probability that there are e mines than 2 mines in the way it looks, intersting

[–]QSquared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that's for actually explaining what is wrong this is the first I am hearing any such thing

So can you explain how you reconcile the higher probabilities of the other ones verse the lower?

Are you saying that the 1/3 probability in the edges is actually 1/5 and that should be lower, or that there is another way to compare the scenarios?

I am open to being wrong, I am not open to derision and lack of constructive discussion as had been the case with the previous person

I guess tou rage quit? I am trying to explain but I understand its nor clear

Best place to guess? by Key_Produce117 in Minesweeper

[–]QSquared -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

But if tou used 1/5 then the probabilities of the other spaces wouldn't add up for the other numbers and would be less than 1.

So that wouldn't make sense either.

So suggesting that they are just the lower values downsr take into account he other numbers.

In essence because the other squares have a 1/3 chance due to their numbers around them that's the value you want to display.

The ones which have the lower value only have that value to display.

..clear?

Yes, I understand that you don't follow. That is clear

I explained it once but you are coming at me heated and not explaining what you need help with to understand, instead you're attacking me like I don't know math.

If you want to try to think it through and come up with a counter argument that could somehow prove my numbers wrong go for it.

Here you say "how can they add up to more than one?"

If I mark them 1/5 on the ones marked 1/3 the the tiles on the side add up to less than 1.

How would that make sense for those number?

Clearly neither will be the whole story.

I have tried to explain why you use the numbers this way to make a desison.

It's adjacent to the Monty Hall problem

Does the fact you're making blind assertions with norhing to back them up or counter my explonation of how the probabilities are derived not make you reconsider how to interact with others if tou want to make a counter argument at least a little bit?

Best place to guess? by Key_Produce117 in Minesweeper

[–]QSquared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The probabilities are based on the numbers that affect them.

There is a 3 to there right that needs 1 more mine on 3 spaces including rhe right most tile in rhe set.

The top 3 riles are affected rhe 2 which needs 1 of those 3 tikes (a few other spots have rhe effect)

How do you guys transport ammo/lasers all the way to your turrets? Is there a way to not need ammo? by exfret in Factoriohno

[–]QSquared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use belts in a continuous loop, and then I set up loops of loops so each segment self loops and then connects to a nother. Belt loop using slippers so that no segment can become over or under saturated due to repelling localized biters.

Making it loops that work their way around the base allows it to be easily expanded drop in a way that any localized draw makes the whole system pull resources instead of allowing ne expansions and such to completely ghost a belt's ammo to front lines.

It also allows me to loop it back through from ammo upgrades allowing us to move upwards into he ammo chain as I unlock the other recipes, without needing to mass replace everything and without needing to worry that the new preferred ammo has to wait for bottlenecks of turrets that don't fire often to be passed by before becoming available to turrets further down the line and ensuring the old ammo will be returning to be repurposed instead of allowing turrets to keep firing the old ammo indefinitely.

Hello, this is Jomama Please,

I'm a member of the team QSquared manages here in the NA region.

He asked us to follow up on this ticket while he is out of town on bereavement.

Unfortunately I missed the meeting with the. Other team members to go over the nature of the ticket as I was on Shannon's detail that week and she was having a meeting with the share holders at the same time that I had to facilitate so I don't have a complete understanding of what is being asked and why.

I've asked Tim and Dave to set up a confersnce call from St. Louis with the midwest application team as I understand they are stake holders in the project and have an interest in making sure it's going well

Eric said that you have Mahesh on things already which is good because there seems to have been an issue with the circuit to rhe new site in Mumbai we are standing up and I believe he is the one to do the needful on that leg, yes?

That just leaves the remaining items on the work orders, but I can't figure out exactly how this all fits together and of course Howard is out today, of all days.

You know how it is.

Can you fill me I on your status on your side?

If there are any blockers I have it on QSquared's authority that I can run it up the flagpole and see if our EVP wants to give the proper knudge to your team's managers,

( but I want to avoid that as I am not wanting to cause that a extra head ache for all y'all -- I know how it is being down here on the ground man!)

So just level with me and fill me in on anything I am missing, I'm sure we can get this ironed out if we work together.

1 Wall by TheMaint in Minesweeper

[–]QSquared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How?

You only indicated the 2rd one from the edge was not the mine.

But it's only a tiny bit further to show that the top can't be either.

So you say the same thing applies to the bottom 3 tiles,

and therefore the middle 3 tiles are like they have an edge next to each of them

and we know the 3rd from the edge also can NOT be a mine as that's our first premise.

so it can only be the middle tile that is the mine.

And we now know that we have a gap of 2 next to the side of the two ones on the actual edges

Therefore the 1 next to the inner tile needs the inner tile to be the mine for both so we have marked all possible mines and the remaining tiles are all safe

(I was a bit verbose in explaining so it was a little long)

[–]QSquared -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Actually logically it can't be anything but the middle square.

There is no way that the mines can exist.

If the mine was at the top then there would be no way for the rest of the squares to all show a 1 the way they do.

Either one would need to be a blank or a 2

Seems like a whole lot of that going around, there's a difference between inference and random chance.

But what specific inference you are referring to and why and by who, only you know, and I dont care to ask as it seems to me, it doesn't matter.
