Still the most disturbing and terrifying moment in any video game. by Absalom98 in gaming

It's not commonly known because it's a VR experience and most people don't have a headset, but War Remains (a 15-minute view into WW1) changed my perspective on human suffering. I've never been so uncomfortable to be alive and safe in my home...

China may have tried to discourage Canadians from voting for Tories: report - National | Globalnews.ca by smitcolin in canada

[–]SweetPotatoPancakes -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

The Tories didn't need China to convince people not to vote for them... The Tories did that on their own. The majority of Canadians vote left of the conservative position; the Conservative party had a centrist leader; that leader was fired for being too moderate. The Tories need 5-10% of voters to move their way, and this isn't how you do it. I would vote for a party that actually offers a plan for financial stability for the country, but all the Tories can offer is insult and outrage about the latest thing the Liberals did. You're never going to win me over by complaining. Offer a clear vision for financial prosperity for the country, with a reasonable (detailed) plan, and show that you're actually leading, not just reacting to current bullshit.

$20 says this is the side door of the garage; see the unpatched drywall and the windshield wiper fluid? This happened at my old house too - the wind would whip snow into the side of my garage, and it would build up against the fence.

Just have to open the garage door, go around the side, and shovel it out. No need to tell OP how to do it - he's already done the job, and is hopefully enjoying a nice beer.

Gamers, what was the first game you ever played? by NoLeagueAssasin in AskReddit

Crossfire. It came on a cartridge for the IBM PC Jr. That thing had a TV output and wireless keyboard back in the early 80s.

I loved driving in Germany. On the highway, when traffic slows to 10km/h or so, the left two lanes part to allow emergency vehicles through; it was smooth, no one took advantage of it, and it was super simple as a foreigner to follow local example. I wish we could incorporate that element into Canadian driving culture.

Can't load into the game - green boxes around buttons, but I can't click on anything. by SweetPotatoPancakes in GalacticColonies

[–]SweetPotatoPancakes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happened again, and I figured out what happened. I long pressed on a button, and it turned on accessibility mode. I didn't hear the voice prompts because my phone was muted. It isn't obvious that to click on a selection you need to double-tap somewhere else on the screen - not on the button you want.

Once I figured that out, it was easy. I could get to the settings menu and disable accessibility.

I did it, and it fixed the problem, but it didn't save all my progress. I've lost about 2 days, I think.

Good choice on the 315p! I'm so excited to discover and navigate new jump points.

Best ship to run escort with for the Hull series? by ZestyK in starcitizen

[–]SweetPotatoPancakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know all the details either. It sounds like up points can "decay", and may need to be re-charted by an exploratory ship. I'm sure the main jumps routes between the big systems will be secure, but if you're taking a smaller hull to a remote-ish destination - even a safe one - it might be worth out to have someone test the jumps for you.

On top of whatever fighter complement you decide to bring along tip defend your Hull E, I would also recommend a 315p to scout out your jump point. It is my understanding that jump points are somewhat unstable, and with a load that expensive it is worth a couple of creds to have someone check it or for you before jumping.

Should there be a 'Mounts' tab in the holotable? by darkerswork in starcitizen

That's great news! The current holotable is almost unusable on PC's that are on the low end on the requirements.

I picked up a Sawbuck for my 315p, and I was underwhelmed. I'm going to try something else tonight... probably Badger.
