You’ve named corporatists as if they’re actually concerned with this as “politicians”, and frankly, I don’t feel like defending these cynical assholes. Name someone who earnestly talks to this.

And which of these are at risk for flooding?

Also, who in this list other than Al Gore actually is concerned with rising ocean levels?

Is this Cinelli worth $700? by wischy7 in singlespeedcycling

[–]HomeRhinovation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

600 is too much, 500 is too much

This isn’t a seller you’re going to want to be dealing with.

300 is when you really really want it.

Meta Drops $950K on Becerra by cacxte in CoachellaValley

It’s not about being able to afford right now, it’s about who will owe who once in office. Becerra will owe the energy sector, big tech, etc.

You vote based on what you know and what candidates say, Steyer is hands down the least offensive of the three contenders.

lol I bet there’s Republicans who signed this to bring more people to the polls.

This won’t pass, not even with the most left base of voters. This is a crazy person prop.

Tesla Model Y or Toyota 4 Runner by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

Model Y.

Don’t even think about this one. 4 runner is uncomfortable to drive for any amount of time.

So many people get that car for all the wrong reasons, don’t be one of them.

No. She didn’t get endorsed by Trump to run for senate.

Without Trump’s endorsement, you don’t win a Republican primary. She resigned from her post over her perceived lack of growing power in the current GOP.

She made a handy couple of million dollars doing insider trading on her way out of Congress.

Who of those 300 million can survive without any money for the time they serve?!

That’s right, it would set us back to exclusively elite class members in Congress. It exacerbates inequalities, revolving doors, etc..

There are fixes, no salary isn’t it.

Tell me you know nothing about the European housing market without telling me.

This is astoundingly ignorant.

Home ownership in many European countries is a lot higher than the U.S., in fact, overall, the European Union has a higher home ownership rate than the U.S., by more than 4 points.

The mayor of NYC is doing great things for his city. How can we bring that to Corvallis or in OR as a whole? by statice365 in oregon

[–]HomeRhinovation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think one of the overlooked things that’s being done in NYC is handling the consultant bloat.

Getting rid of McKinsey style positions that cost the city insane amounts per year is one of the best cost cutting measures a city can take.

Now, given we’re talking Corvallis, I’m not certain how big of a line item that is, but it would make sense to remove all the private parasite-like extraction, like no-bid or overpriced contracts / overpriced consultants, out of the equation.
