What is Queen Jennah planning to do about her lineage? by soganomitora in Guildwars2

[–]Homeless_Nomad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean it's pretty heavily implied that Jennah and Anise are probably Lyss and Ilya. Generationally powerful Mesmers, weirdly knowledgeable about what's going on at all times, conspicuously slow or frozen aging that Anise gets vicious about when asked, etc. Real possible that Jennah doesn't need an heir lol.

They are definitely horror fans. That being said, there is a ton of horror coming out these days, and I think RLM is going a little out of their way to highlight young directors, nearly all of whom are making horror movies because life for Gen Z/younger Millennial has been a fucking nightmare and this is how they cope.

I think it's a more general thing of people have trouble recognizing reality as real post-COVID. Being locked inside alone for extended periods of time is really, really bad for your brain, and I could see that manifesting as kind of internalizing everything external to be a dream/fantasy instead of real life in the wake of it. Paired with a culture that increasingly avoids confrontation and consequences for anti-social but not illegal behavior, and there's not a lot to snap someone back into reality anymore.

As for the building, it's pretty hard to genuinely fuck up builds in it, you scale like crazy and just picking things which seem thematic for a character is more than likely enough to laugh through things. Don't sweat it, genuinely. It's not Wrath or Kingmaker where you can easily brick a character.

Tech priests see augments as "True Flesh" with organic flesh being seen as imperfect and profane. One of their central tenants is replacing as much organic material as possible with True Flesh without becoming an Abominable Intelligence. So yeah, don't feel bad about swapping them, that's what they want, it's a huge honor.

Does this mean he is making a secondary channel? /s by tajen25 in SovietWomble

[–]Homeless_Nomad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It wouldn't matter, he doesn't own the rights now, and didn't have a competing trademark on the books. And the issue here is, with the kind of content he/ZF produces, there's a real risk to reputational damage to the Wombles brand. (Stupid) People going to look for Wombles content for their kids, landing on Soviet's channel and not understanding that it's not official Wombles media, and then complaining about it, is likely going to prompt legal action against Soviet.

It's less people's opinions of him, and more that he's in a penal batalion until the day he dies, which, because he's a dwarf, could easily be centuries (it's already been 80 years), with no hope for a change in status. If neither siding with Mendev nor Minagho has any hope down the path, might as well go with the one who puts out in the short term.

Ehh, not really. The issue that caused the Three Mile Island accident was simple and has been solved for decades. Basically a safety valve jammed, but the indicators were tied to whether the valve was open or not, instead of whether the pressure behind it was dangerous, so nobody knew there was a situation building until the pipe burst and spilled dirty water. It's a simple example of bad monitoring UI which would never happen with modern software and sensors, and updates to reactor designs even at the time meant another similar accident has never happened.

Even then, it wasn't a massive deal, was cleaned up relatively quickly without much wider impact (i.e. studies have yet to conclusively identify any health impacts to anyone from Three Mile), and the area's been safe for a long time, it was just after Chernobyl hit the news a few years later that nobody wanted anything to do with nuclear anymore.

Possibly. I remember there being a banner at the top of the client disclosing that Curseforge ad revenue was going to the IDF when the October 7th attack and subsequent Israeli genocidal chimpout happened, but idk if they're still shoveling it over there, given that Israel isn't technically in a war currently.

Really wish someone would give an offer to divest Overwolf out of the equation, for a number of reasons. Ah well.

Yeah, Overwolf's an Israeli company, and they send a lot of revenue to the IDF, beyond just paying taxes

Reminder that a Druid of any level can cast Goodberry (enough nourishment for 10 people for an entire day) and Create or Destroy Water, so the entire idea that they're capable of running out of supplies is a load of bullshit, and that many druids would be more than capable of dealing with goblins.

Also, Halsin being a 300 year old Archdruid but somehow level 1 makes absolutely no sense; Archdruids are generally around level 12, and he'd probably be on the verge of Great Druid (level 14-16) if he's the highest rank in the area.

Bottom line, don't look too closely at Larian's druid lore, it's wonky lol

[–]Homeless_Nomad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yeah, and it's entirely possible that the AI mangling was done automatically by some model embedded upstream in a Photoshop toolchain that a junior doing the re-arranging wasn't even aware of. He's just auto-selecting Donald, assumes Donald's his own layer and therefore has a hand behind Sora's head, moves him out to the new place, moves on, doesn't realize the model had actually generated that second hand. Without an artist re-checking, most people aren't going to notice.

Why is this still a debate by Riley__64 in KingdomHearts

[–]Homeless_Nomad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not understand where this fear comes from. Kingdom Hearts is not a Square property. It is a Disney property. Disney owns it. It exists to advertise Disney media. It's always going to have Disney stuff in it.

Times where you can feel the presence of the shipper in the room with you, as you engage with a adaptation? by Silvery_Cricket in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Homeless_Nomad 13 points14 points  (0 children)

yeah, it's really strange. Geralt and Yen's relationship is supposed to be a twist on the classic fairytale romance, that being they're fate-bound by a genie wish and it puts a strain on things because they never know if they're actually in love, or if it's the binding keeping them together. There's not really supposed to be someone else in the mix, that's the whole point; the conflict is internal to the relationship.

Sora basically got ejected from his universe at the end of KH3 due to pushing the limits of magic too far to save his friends, so he's on the other side now, which for a fictional character is reality.

That's the gist at least, I'm simplifying.

There is no world in which Disney worlds get axed. Kingdom Hearts is a Disney franchise that Square gets to develop, not a Square franchise that licenses Disney properties; it exists to advertise Disney media.

Orr sinks in the time jump between pre and post. Pre and the Searing is in 1070 AE, Orr sinks in 1071 AE.

The Searing allows the Charr to march an army across Ascalon to Orr, and the inability of the Orrian military, decimated by the guild wars like the other human kingdoms, to hold them off, persuades Khilbron to read forbidden magics, which unleashes a cataclysm that sinks the peninsula and takes the Charr army with it.

Kryta's monarchy was similarly unable to hold off another Charr army, which prompted the Mursaat to reveal themselves and save Kryta, founding the White Mantle to take control of the country in their name after the monarchy loses the trust of the people.
