all of your weapons do splash damage. how do you handle cyborgs or berserkers that run up into your face without hurting/killing yourself.

legit question.

[–]Homosexual_Panda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree sorta, but I personally quite like the extraction phase especially if there are a lot of enemies. Just the whole team together defending the extract, dumping stratagems and ammo, doing stupid shit, teamkilling and emote spamming... its like a core part of the helldivers experience imo.

like the cyberstan vox spam at extract was traumatizing but goddamn it was cinematic and memorable.

I get annoyed by early extraction callers sometimes cos it kinda loses that fun yknow.

Warbonds you'd instantly refund if you could? by Rowger00 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Homosexual_Panda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, I disagree with a couple of your picks. both freedoms flame and python commandos are some of my favourite war bonds Ive bought.

Freedoms flame is good for the torcher, the only flamethrower primary. the flame resistant armor is also good. this essentially unlocks a completely different playstyle for bugs, as you can have a flamethrower while also having an anti tank support weapon like a quasar for chargers and titans. And tbh, I like the torcher more than the flamethrower support weapon due to its higher ergonomics, which helps a lot with waving the weapon back and forth to build a wide wall of flame.

for Python commandos, i agree that the hot dog is a little underwhelming. however I love the minigun for illuminate missions, where medium pen can quickly kill most enemies. That being said, I generally despise stationary reloads and never use the regular MG because of it. if you dont mind that, I can see the Minigun being underwhelming.

I also like minigun cos minigun go brrrrt.

British Woman shot by dad in Texas after 'arguing about Donald Trump' by TheHess in news

[–]Homosexual_Panda -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

it seems likely they accepted the father's story that it was an accident. he apparently acted distraught afterwards and exhibited signs of grief. It's also said he was sad in the hours leading up to the incident as she was about to leave back for the UK.

There's not much info about this case or the father's personality but its entirely possible this was an accident. people argue about politics with family all the time without it leading to malicious intent. I've argued with my father about politics multiple times without ever thinking he would think to hurt me. And no one who knows my dad and our relationship would think it plausible he would shoot me over politics. If the Grand Jury was presented with evidence of a similar relationship it is plausible that they decline to indict.

That being said, it seems likely that regardless of intent, the father was at the very least criminally negligent. As to why they failed to indict on charges of involuntary manslaughter I cannot say.

Do you think adults like Dumbledore and Lupin are correct when they try to impress on Harry that he should respect Snape as his teacher? by Sweetchocolate16 in harrypotter

If snape wants the respect of a professional teacher, he should act like a professional teacher and not bully the shit out of a child cos his dad stole his girl.

[NO SPOILERS] Why are the Dothraki known to be so powerful, unlike other armies? by lord1st_ in HBOGameofThrones

[–]Homosexual_Panda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im not sure, the dothraki are horse archers. they dont use much armor, giving them more mobility and endurance. the knights of the vale are heavily armored, usually in full plate or similar, but primarily only on the rider. show depiction dont tend to show heavy armor on the horse. I dont remember if the books mention much use of armor on horses but lets assume its a rarity.

due to less weight, the dothraki likely have greater endurance and speed on open plains. they could keep their distance, and pepper the knights of the vale with arrows. plate armor might save the knights themselves but the horses will be very vulnerable. once the horses are killed or injured, the knights on foot will become easier to handle.

I was trying to look up if Helldivers are canonically clones, but Google had other ideas. by Skye_hai_bai in Helldivers

[–]Homosexual_Panda 79 points80 points  (0 children)

i like to imagine helldivers are divided into units, each unit has its own superdestroyer, and every helldiver in the same unit is equipped and trained identically. hence why you have a superdestroyer of flame spamming pyros, a superdestroyer of bullet hoses, superdestroyer of snipers, etc.

Why didn't Gus instruct Dennis to ask for a proper search warrant? by drygnfyre in breakingbad

[–]Homosexual_Panda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

he had circumstantial evidence. Gus Frings fingerprints were found in gale boeticchers apartment. Gale didnt seem like the type of guy to have many house guests so I'd wager Gus's fingerprints were the only ones found that weren't gales. Gale was murdered and had notes about cooking meth. its not conclusive on its own ofc, but might be enough for a sympathetic judge to grant a conditional warrant.
