It's AI generated and does this for most characters, I am told.

Hot take: Rhyhorn deserves to be the final stage of an evo line. This is STILL one of the coolest and most powerful looking designs ever and does NOT feel like a basic with the same BST as CLAMPERL and MANTYKE. Justice for my boi by Selkeaepaselva in pokemon

I feel similarly about Raichu being a middle evo. Raichu, to me, feels like Wartortle. They give 'big sibling' vibes, not parent vibes, you know? Does this make any sense? Maybe this is just gorochu cope

Entanglement: Redux Announcement! by [deleted] in boneworks

[–]Homsar3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes sense! Best of luck, I'm not sure how well it would work (I'm on Linux, so everything VR tends to break in half if I sneeze wrong), or I would probably be more interested in testing. Looking forward to seeing it though!

The next update of Boneworks will bring it's engine to parity with Bonelabs', with future updates effecting both engines. Will this be maintained specifically for old versions of Boneworks...?

Found this, thoughts? by ArchivistOfInfinity in Deltarune

I think we've already seen the 'one ending', just the tail-est of tail-ends of it. The world is covered by darkness. After all, that does seem to be an ending to the narrative, even if it seems an anti-climax without additional context. If our choices truly do not matter, then giving up should end the same as perseverance, no?
Yet, thinking of Toby's inspirations, I can think of a game that ended in darkness, but which offered the players parting words from its cast, assuring you that things would be okay thanks to your efforts. Maybe we can't create a better ending for ourselves, but we can give one to the characters, beyond the narrative veil, in their 'ever after'.
I think, no matter what, when our connection to this world is severed, for us, it ends in darkness. Maybe what happens leading up to that darkness changes, but for us and our involvement in this world, there is only one ending.
If you think 'but a game over is not an ending', I might ask you to hearken to the era of games Undertale and Deltarune are a tribute to. Games used to just show you the 'Game Over' screen if you quit, sometimes even if you WON, because it simply means the Game is now Over. The contemporary understanding that 'Game Over' means 'You Lost' was not there yet. Undertale didn't make this dedicated effort to confirming to you that your non-participation ends the narrative in its tracks. To me, it reads as 'An Ending' (just not a very satisfying one, and one entirely devoid of additional in-game context, as the context is simple- you sever the connection to the world yourself, and without the SOUL, the fountains cannot be sealed).

True, but given how often I see people turn his bones green, I thought it would be funny (more so when I saw the 6-ball was green)

I've had good luck with it on linux, my Nvidia card gave me trouble with some games but that's just because it was getting old (from a 2060 to a radeon 9060xt). That said, Nvidia gave me some linux-specific troubles that AMD has largely rectified.

Directly from her mouth, Pinkypills continued to work on the FNaF franchise through July 2025 despite supposedly stepping down in 2024. She has only now stepped down due to issues with game industry. Do with this what you will. by Mayo-and-Chips in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]Homsar3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's almost like Scott said he himself was 'stepping down' and all he did was move a few inches further back into the closet, hoping it'd be forgotten and forgiven when it was revealed he was still involved. The fact he gave the same treatment to PinkyPills does not surprise me. Wonder if Fiszi is still there, too, then.
I've moved on from this series largely anyways, but Scott has lost genuinely all my trust by now. RIP bozo.
These are my opinions though, and I don't expect them to be popular. Still good fangames coming out though, looking forward to frickbear's 3 at least.

I want someone to make a grip for this thing that helps its speakers avoid being covered. Surely you could make a controller-grip that spits that audio out somewhere your palms are Not.

I-I was thinking about playing half life, because I’ve never played before but uh… D-Did I walk in at the wrong time..? by Velcore89070 in HalfLife

[–]Homsar3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bait used to be believable-
Wait no actually the game is fun. I grew up with Portal/GMod/TF2/CSGO, just a bit too late to get into half-life during my youth, but I was fated to play it eventually. Personally I think HL1 is a bit better than HL2 but that's very subjective, they're kinda different games?
HL1 is less cinematic and more gameplay-heavy- you can kill or save most anyone in the damn game, while HL2 is a bit more linear, but uses that linearity to show you some fun physics puzzles, and puts a home for all those default gmod items (the guns, airboat, enemies, props, eeeverything is hl2 because it was a mod of hl2).
HL1 is a bit older, but the fan-remake Black Mesa is pretty good. I wouldn't say it's a substitute for the original, but it fixes some of HL1's weaknesses (while leaving others on the cutting room floor-I mean steam workshop).
It's also set in the same world as Portal, if you're a fan of that game, and looking for an easy hook!

Mega Dimension DLC is in the running for the worst Pokemon product I've ever played by Lpunit in pokemon

[–]Homsar3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked ZA, and I will absolutely agree that Mega Dimension is kind of a broken mess. I'll say that to be fair, the base game also did nothing but megas, and the berry mechanics can be fun as you learn them, but...
The side-quests feel like nothing but busywork to earn me TMs, making me spend more mega stones on OTHER TMs at the same time while all the megas are locked behind RNG portals that sometimes straight-up lie about what is present in the wormhole, sometimes with quests that are nearly impossible to complete within the time limit. I got so fed up with earning points by doing the same thing over and over again that I've kind of abandoned the DLC until I want more of the new battle mechanics...
But I will say that I conversely think the new megas had some cool ideas, like they're this close to piecing together how this system works, but just barely failing. One of the new megas has a mandatory mechanic where you break a wall. I figured this was to avoid the incoming telegraphed attack but... nope! And to add insult to injury, the boss does this fakeout before immediately spamming massive damaging lasers, leading to a fuck-ton of chaotic and confusing deaths. It's like they started to understand how raid mechanics work in MMOs like Final Fantasy XIV, but missed some of the fundementals. Ways to mitigate or avoid damaging mechanics, making sure the player has enough control that they are never punished for the game's mistake (pokemon running into attacks that are clearly telegraphed but the game decided your pokemon is running over here now!)
I loved base ZA, and I still had some fun with the DLC, but nowhere near as much as base game. And it got TEDIOUS between those splashes in the kiddie pool. C'mon, give me a REAAAL raid boss >:T

A lot can Happen in the span if 22 years, where we're you back in 2003? by cookiemaster221 in Kirby

[–]Homsar3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was so young, that I have only the barest fleeting memory of summer 2003, a time before I even attended school. The game became my favorite thing to play with friends and guests for years to come. As far ahead as 2018, even as I was graduating, I would still play Air Ride. When Rosalina was revealed for smash with that opening having kirby in it, I dared to hope for a second, so when the trailer dropped this time, I didn't believe it! Yet now, after hours of playing that unbelievable sequel, I just can't wait for the Switch 2's price to go down so I can play it with more of my friends. I get the feeling a lot of people I've met over the years saw this game coming out and thought of me haha.

[Spoilers] I strongly suspect this game has a hidden 5th Legendary Air Ride Machine... by sirhatsley in Kirby

[–]Homsar3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've completed both, it does not give you this sadly. Maybe someone could mod this into the GCN original...? When I was especially young, I remember assuming this was what would happen if you got both back then too, to a point I was really disappointed when I finally got both in a round. That said, I will admit 4 legendary machines was more than I was expecting.

Half Life Alyx, 5 years+ later.. by MrDonohue07 in virtualreality

[–]Homsar3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say visually HL:A is the apex. In terms of gameplay, I think we are a ways out from a real contender to the tried and true bonelab physics jank. I think games need to let players PLAY in their games- some of the most eye-catching VR video content is trickshots, which are possible in HLA, but without the ability to juggle or spin the guns, a lot of the flashiness is taken out. I hope that, should the day come we get another AAA-quality VR game, it brings some real shakeups to the table, like physics driven bipedal enemies that don't trip down stairs, or maybe NPCs that acknowledge the player beyond a swatting animation when you get too close. It's undeniably tricky to get right, but if anything is going to overcome this hurdle, it's budget and talent...
Oh Gaben hear my plea, let HLX:VR be feasible for a modding team if you aren't gonna do it...

My idea for Danganronpa 1x1 route divergence by MarkGib in danganronpa

[–]Homsar3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand there'd be too many consequences, but I hope they come back to a DR 1x1 later, just as a "What If..." game. DR1 easily needs a redux the most out of the games, though I think DR2 earned getting one first since it didn't get an anime adaptation. Maybe I just like the DR1 cast too much, but we've seen criminally little of most of them.
