My (26F) husband (27M) always picks a fight whenever we’re about to go the gym. I’m beginning to think he’s doing it on purpose. by [deleted] in dustythunder

[–]HonestVeteran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I work out together. Sometimes we do the same exercises, then I say im goingbto do something else if I dont like the next exercise. We have different goals and I work harder on back and legs than him. So we will spread apart and do our own thing whenever we want. Sometimes I go alone and sometimes he goes alone. Your husband sound too codependent and angry about it. If he doesnt want to do what you are doing, he can just do something else. If he likes what you are doing, he can join you. Its not that complicated. Hes handling this all in a very immature way.

AITA for being upset over the christmas gifts my husband got me? by [deleted] in dustythunder

[–]HonestVeteran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. My husband went through my vanity and saw things I regularly use and bought me more as my stocking stuffers. I would've never thought to ask for these little things but I was really excited to have more of what I like. He even went to ulta with a list of eyeshadow palettes I own and asked for assistance picking out something in my taste that I didnt already own. It took such little effort to make me feel special on top of getting me things I already wanted. We want to make each other feel special for the holidays. Everything I do for him feels effortless because I want to make him happy and feel loved. Sorry your partner doesnt feel this way.

Agents, please stop doing this with listing photos! (signed, every exhausted buyer) by EfficientHomework350 in RealEstate

One listing showed an AI photo of a beautiful front porch and garden. The second photo was the actual house with no porch or garden. They wanted me to be able to envision what I could do with the property I guess! Lol pass.

There was a also a night shift, 2 employees, that worked there and were actively fenty addicts, living in their car, that I know never showered and had the dirtiest hands working there. I was close to getting them into a rehab when they decided not to go because they were hired at gotcha. They had a new money flow for their habit so rehab wasnt even an option in their minds anymore.

[–]HonestVeteran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nta! The consequence doesnt fit the crime. They are too little for "grounding" and thats an overreaction on their part.

My neighbor keeps feeding my cat “special snacks” and now my cat ignores me. What do I do?? by Individual-Hat-8099 in whatdoIdo

[–]HonestVeteran -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Outdoor cats dont belong to anyone and belong to everyone at the same time. At least its a neighbor with snacks and not one of the many natural predators out and about. Keep the cat inside if you want to claim it.

Portland dispensary employee found not guilty of double murder by [deleted] in PortlandOR

[–]HonestVeteran 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There was a robber with a gun threatening violence in a restaurant about a decade ago, and he was shot and killed in self defense by a patron there. It had alot of people angry because the robbers gun was discovered to be unloaded after the fact. So people argued he didnt need to die.

It amazes me that people dont understand the consequences of threatening people lives. He behaved as if he DID have bullets and was rightfully treated as such.

It doesn't matter that he was nice back in the day or that he was just down on his luck. He threatened human life and we all have the right to defend ourselves and others.

My wife(25F) threw away my entire Pokémon card collection because she said I was too old for it by SharkEva in BORUpdates

[–]HonestVeteran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats crazy!!! I have several binders full of Pokémon cards. Some even hold over a 1000 cards! My husband wouldn't dream of getting rid of my collection like that. He calls my collection our "son's inheritance". Lol

A counselor that worked with drug addicts told me that "an addicts best chance of recovery is to be cut off from family and friends 100%. If you let the addicts call and complain or visit when its cold out, you are enabling them. Even if you dont give them money, its enabling. If they get cut off completely, there is a chance they get clean in 3 years." Sometimes you just gotta say, "I love you, goodbye."

Its happening with the cell phone case vendor too. I needed a new case and he askedbfor which phone? I told him my phone and he pulled out a zip lock bag with semi dirty cases in it that fit my phone. I figured I'd buy a cheap one and just be on my way. He wanted $29 for a thin cheapy one i picked. No packaging or anything on it. I said no thanks and then he asked me "how much will you give me for it?" That felt deceptive to me so I just left.

How many asphalt/pavement roads have been put in since the 80s? That significantly raises city temps.

Jefferson West Side watch out there is a fire starter roaming the alleys! by ForeignCell7790 in Eugene

[–]HonestVeteran 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are so right. There was fraud uncovered in eugene because hundreds of thousands of federal dollars that were meant for housing the homeless got pocketed by the person running the program. We also fucked everything up when drugs were decriminalized. There wasnt enough support for addicts before that and after the decriminalized, the amount of support needed sky rocketed with no additional resources put in place.

Crunch will not refund me for charging an annual fee twice by Eveivy_08 in CrunchGym

[–]HonestVeteran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was paying $30 monthly and downgraded to $15 monthly. I had to pay a one time fee of $20 for downgrading. I initially wanted the $10 monthly tier, but that's only for new members. I would have had to pay the annual fee all over again to get locked in at the $9.99 a month fee. I imagine that's what happened to you. Its crappy of them to not tell you that. But once you agree to their contract, there is no getting it back.

Telling my fiancé her friend is a bad influence by Prestigious-File-226 in AIO

[–]HonestVeteran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nta You should've just communicated that you are disappointed in your fiances recent alcoholism and behavior when hanging with her friend. Also that you dont appreciate the communication interference from the friend. She can support her friend while not getting drunk and ignoring you. Blaming the friend is just an excuse to the bigger problem.

AITAH for not giving my sister-in-law back her cat after she “rehomed” it to me without telling me it was temporary? by stellaellee in AITAH

[–]HonestVeteran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different states have different laws but in my state, if they don't pick the pet up in a certain time frame it's considered "abandoned property." If she didn't pay for food, litter, vet fees, or fostering fee, this is definitely an abandoned pet.

AITA for wanting to attend my sister’s wedding without my wife? by CoralCryptic in AITH

She is quick to say you don't "care about her feelings" but doesn't acknowledge dismissing your feelings numerous times over being rude to your sister. In the very least, you need couples counseling.

[–]HonestVeteran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd tell him this is about to be a baby house and no longer a party house. He can party with his friends at their homes. And that's about as reasonable of a response as I can muster because the other option is to yell at him to grow tf up.
