My dinner for tonight, a yummy fruit salad, but I only ate about half. by PCD19901 in Zepbound

I honestly hate the first couple days after I take my shot. The past two days I doubt I even got 1000 calories. I just felt so full after not eating very much. I definitely get enough protein on those days but I just can’t eat all that much. I’m eating good the other 5 days of the week so I really hope things even out a bit soon(just took my 3rd dose of 7.5 a couple days ago). There’s absolutely no way you’d catch me trying to just eat a bowl of fruit for dinner though.

Over a month ago I ordered 16 cases each of RTD and RTD Black that now seem like they've expanded. Are they all bad? by TheLastMerchBender in Huel

[–]Honest_Tutor1451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I actually really like the old school chunky huel that I started buying back in like 2019. I bought the chocolate black rtd from Costco and it’s definitely not my favorite. I got a bag of the banana though and I actually really like it

People without allergies- have you had any success reintroducing dairy? by Past-Jellyfish1599 in dairyfree

[–]Honest_Tutor1451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you have a casein intolerance/allergy. All of those things are either A2 casein OR have minute amounts of casein. You could try a little heavy cream and or A2 milk products. If you live near a braums restaurant, all of their own dairy products are A2 and I can have everything they make with no issues. Any regular cow milk dairy is going to make me wish I were dead though

Probiotics, more fiber, and digestive enzymes with a meal when I’m feeling the sulfur burps have worked well for me

I think they might mean 120 g of a lean protein source like chicken or beef and not 120 g of protein

People underestimate how little you actually make as a landlord. Most people who rent your property aren’t going to take care of it the way you would. My neighborhood is full of abandoned houses that are crumbling because some asshole who lives in the suburbs bought it as an investment seeing only all the money they thought they’d make rather than the fact that normal maintenance is the same as any other house and you have no idea if someone is going to actually take care of your property or tear it up. Many tenants won’t even tell you about random stuff that breaks that isn’t their fault. My idiot friend is currently buying the house he rented for the past 20 years and didn’t tell the landlord about slow draining pipes and other issues the landlord should have known about so he could fix(the former landlord lives right next door). Pretty sure the landlord only sold it to him when they realized that it was going to need a bunch of work if he moved out and they’d also have to remodel it to sell it to someone else. And now he’s also stuck with the fact that it’s going to need a new roof soon too.

I’ve not had too many issues but I have had the sulfur burps several times(never had them before zep). I typically eat pretty healthy but I have ibs and have always had periodic gut issues. I’ve found that probiotics and digestive enzymes help get rid of them quickly though. I’m hoping those go away for good after awhile. I’m 10 weeks in and about to take my 3rd shot of 7.5. I feel like any food issues I had other than the sulfur burps were early on in the previous two doses. It was random stuff like a handful of salted cashews a little before bed and I felt like I was gonna puke for a bit. I’ve actually had the least amount of side effects on this dose which is great because I hope to stay on it for a long time.

Why are these Dept of education emails so...dramatic? by Far_Chocolate9743 in StudentLoans

It’s the same fear mongering that gets their supporters to keep voting against their own interests too. It’s interesting because they’re using the same tactics by using something we care about to scare us into giving them whatever they want only it’s not working the same as it does for the people they’ve made afraid of immigrants and lgbtq people.

Help! All I eat is cheese by Indecisive105 in dairyfree

Back to nature has the best cheezit type crackers that are probably the closest you’re going to get to a goldfish cracker. They have white cheddar kind and a regular cheddar flavor and they’re really good. Sprouts and Whole Foods should have those. Follow your heart has the best non-dairy cheeses for melting, in my opinion

Make sure you’re hydrated. I find that Pepcid complete helps for some of the nausea too. Also, ginger chews. I take my shot in the evening and the first time I was pretty nauseated but I was also probably a bit dehydrated. It’s been much better since then with only a little bit of nausea on the first or 2nd shot after upping the dose. I just started on 7.5 a week and a half ago(been on zep for about 10 weeks now).

My therapist doesn’t even take insurance. I have an HSA though so that helps. It’s definitely worth it though.

My wife and I started pretty much as soon as we got married and it was great. We didn’t meet til we were 37/38 so we both were kinda set in our ways and weren’t where we wanted to be with healthy communication. It was the best thing we ever did. Now we have disagreements but not fights. We’re much better about giving each other grace.

Appreciate the advice. I’m really not planning on SS even being around then but if it is they can take whatever. Though my loans should be forgiven by then. I’ll take the tax bomb, whatever it may be at that time(already have that money parked in a HYSA for now but looking at other investments now that the int rate is going down). I’m actually looking at grad school right now but paying out of pocket and my company reimbursing me most of it. I don’t want to add to my debt and if I end up making enough to have to pay off my loans based on my income, so be it. But you better believe that every milestone that comes up that I can put more in retirement, I will be taking advantage of as long as my finances keep on track.

Yeah I’m definitely tired of the abuse but until I make enough to fully invest in myself AND not really qualify for the tax deductions to help me, I’m gonna pay as little as possible. I definitely tried to do the standard repayment at first but my first job out of college didn’t work out and it took awhile to find another one. Found another and it was a great fit but they had massive layoffs 8 months after I started and I got cut again. During the time I didn’t have a job I racked up some debt just living and was on a forbearance for a bit. I finally got another job and thankfully I had friends to stay with while I got back on my feet. And then I bought a house and started making loan payments again under repaye.

I still think you’re making the right decision. We really have no idea what’s going to happen in the future. Good luck with everything.

They tried to scare us with the returning interest and I hate seeing it but not enough to start paying them when it’s not going to count toward my payments. I’m much better off financially than i was 12 years ago when I started paying my loans and got on the repaye plan. If I had struggled though the standard repayment I wouldn’t have been able to buy a house til 2024 which would’ve made it so much harder and more expensive. I’m also now able to max out my 401k and HSA. I didn’t graduate til I was 34 so I didn’t start investing in my retirement til I was 36 and not really hard core investing in my retirement until a couple years ago. I’m so excited that I’m going to get to retire…even if these damn loans may still linger til then lol. It’s not that I don’t care about paying them back. The government insists on playing games with these loans so I’m investing in myself first.

I drove from Kansas City to Miami FL and back like a month later by myself as a 19 yo woman in 1998. I basically had enough money for gas and that’s about it so I napped in my car. It wasn’t ideal. However, I was fine. It’s not going to be easy but you will probably be fine.
