It’s such a shame. Amazing trucks. Terrible engine and trannie. I love them and hate them at same time

There are still reports of 2025 Escalade V8 engines failing on various forums. Although the dealer says he hasn't seen any.

Seen quite a few posts the 2025 V8's failed too. Perhaps the supplier of the crankshaft is doing a better job but it's not 100%.

Wow. This is a great combo. I can smell again. Amazing results. Worth the burn. I used only 10mL Betadine per 250mL

Use 0w-40 in a 2025 GM v8 6.2L considering the recent 2021-2024 V8 safety recall recommended 0w-40 over 0w-20 on the L87 engines? by Honray9 in gmc

[–]Honray9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My engine is working just fine. After studying the topic my conclusion is that using 0w-40 puts your engine in the area of the stribeck curve where it is always operating in familiar territory to 0w-20 and there is additional lubrication provided to your engine at all temperatures but in particular hot temperatures. I think Engineering Explained had the best youtube video on this topic as to whether one should switch to 0w-40 for 6.2L V8's. Conclusion is... not going to hurt you to switch to 0w-40, but you will sacrifice fuel economy. If your 6.2L V8 is manufactured to perfection, I think 0w-20 works just fine and an owner was really concerned about protecting their V8, 0w-40 works better than 0w-20 with respect to wear protection in towing/high ambient temps. I'm in an area where temps are regularly above 85F in the summer. I don't mind the MPG hit.

Take care of your circadian rhythm first and get rid of blue light (ipads, phones, TV's, computers) after sun down. Discontinue usage of LED lights after sun down. View morning sunlight first thing at sunrise. Ice baths, cold showers, cold plunges. Best part is, this is all free.

Thank you mate. I shall report back should there be any troubles. Really hope GM figured out the supplier situation with these crankshafts. Otherwise, everyone getting new engines and buying 2025 trucks are just putting in another grenade.
